Why did you take intercessor DC and not DC firstborn in your test ? They have better options for close combat and they can still have a chaplain in their unit. If you take plasma pistols and take a loss with the supercharge mode in the shooting phase, you can even trigger the sustained hits as well in the fight phase.
I've been a big fan of the assault interssesors with sang priest. I've also loved using assault centurions out of a landraider and using a librarian dreadnought to teleport them. The centurions are durable enough to survive after disembarking if the wings of Sanguinius fails, and maybe still have a normal charge target. If they fail the charge after wings of Sanguinius it's still a very annoyingly durable unit with some scary anti-infantry overwatch right where the opponent t doesnt want it. Wings also helps cherry pick the monster/vehicle targets
I've been running Land raider redeemer with Bladeguard/capt for rampage, supported by either 2 ballistus/lancers and 20x jump intercessors, jump death company with chappy, and drop pod stern vets with pretty good results

Mephiston with assault intercessors has been really good for me especially hit them with grenade first. The assault intercessors with jump packs with chaplains have also been very strong even before this new buff.

My favorite is bladeguards with captain and ancient basically for their cool look. 10 AI with chapie or meph + 3 bladeguards to fill gap. (I run redeemer TC 14). Never tried and want to try centurions
I quite like the look of 10 van vets with sang priest and jump captain 50 S8 -2 dmg 1 attacks before the characters attack sounds pretty strong plus 4+ invul 5+ fnp should have some reliancy and can move 12 so don't need a transport would be a pricey unit though 😅
Seriously considering running 2 land raiders to ferry two of these units (1 in reserve) and a repulsor for the hellblaster combo. Sprinkle in some scouts and infiltrators for objectives, and go..
I think the land raider is stellar Its a sudo- anti tank or anti infantry armor (depending on loadout) and its soaks up a ton of damage. How do we feel about a lieutenant and/or a captain with the BGV? Also I definitely support the double land raider. The list I plan on running soon takes a land raider with Seth+ass ints+ sang priest and a redeemer with BGV+Judi and a squad of eradicators. Should be fun
I'm gonna try Assault Terminators with Claws and a Captain, do you think placing then into a Land Raider is better than placing them from Deep Strike with the Teleport Homer ? Free Charge Reroll + Free Red Rampage sounds nice :)
Just a thought for ya BA! What if the assault intercesors also had a captain! Extra attacks and free Strat! Plus if I’m not wrong we can also add a LT to the unit!
Could you do a series on how to beat enemy factions? A friend of mine is getting better with nids and sadly i am still playing mostly legends stuff until I can get my life togetherso finding out what others are doing vs other factions would be helpful for updating my list
I feel the overall balance as well as cost comes into it. For me I'm going with BGV an Judi. fight first if that squad of Orks try's to take you off that objective, 3W takes sting out of 2d attacks, re roll saves of 1. Overwatch from LRR too. Another thing vs just outright damage potential Is how much of it is saved. AP1 attacks are going to be saved alot more than AP2 (which will be forcing things on to their 4/5+ invuls) I'll take the damage potential of BGV and less likely that damage is saved over ass ints at AP1. If I'm running Ass ints I probably want Seth, however, the DC loses abit of survivability without lemartes. Tasty idea though, 6 BGV an judi to charge out the Redeemer and hang around with FF....along with Seth an company of heroes as a 4W -1 to wound body guard for him to also charge out and wander off swinging his reaver with advance an charge.
Curious to see if adding the Libby in terminator armour to the LC terminators would do much to help them out🤔 Also standard Libby to give assault ints. 4++ worth it?
10 assault intercessors with the priest and Gabriel Seth out the front of the raider. The unit will wreck anything it hits and keep going with the FNP. The squad buffs Seth wonderfully. I’ve run this about 7 times since the dataslate.
@@ba_commander I always roll ones when I hit with Seth. I’m just lucky that way I think and the squad solves that right there. If you’re on an objective the other person’s squad is just done. Dreadnoughts, tanks and higher toughness monsters just get shredded also, especially when you factor the red rampage into it.
@@ba_commander but even at 120pts for 3 you're still getting 3D6+3 Flamers atks for range, and 3(+1)x3 atks, S8(+2), AP-2, Damage 2 Twin-Linked in melee. Are they better than Bladeguard Veterans or Death Company/Assault Intercessors? On the charge, no because volume of attacks even at lower strength and AP has it own quality. But T6 vs T4 is a huge difference when it comes to survival. The Gravis Capt imo is one of the best combat characters. Give him the Relic Blade + his gauntlets and the "Artisan of War" enhancement. 5(+1) atk, S8(+2), AP-3, Damage 2 & 2(+1) atks, S5(+2), AP-3, Damage 2 extra atks. And this unit "should" kill almost anything they attack into. But for 340pts for a unit of 6 Aggressors & Capt. Yes I agree it is expensive, but a unit of 5 Assault Terminators & Chaplain is 270 and which one would you say is more bang for your buck?
I know this is land raider theory but van vets get to s7 weapons, and with a captain attached to them you get s8 melee with lethal hits on a charge, p good imo
i hope we would get some kind of DA boxset. 5-10 new VG with Jetpacks or 5-10 Death company marines with Jetpacks + new 5( because gw hates you) SG guard and Sanguinor. It would be ideal box for collecting. Rules would be awful, but who cares, BLOOD ENDURES. I want true Flying golden host as the army. And new baal tank... want too much. Btw. New SOS detach is fine for most units. we would not punch tanks hard, but most monsters would crumble before us.
@@stephenwitham sure. But when a units gone up 20% in a couple of months and you’ve got alot of experience with them and their weaknesses, I guess it’s pushing me away from them.
Gonna test them out this weekend in SoS out of a redeemer with a chaplain. They can kill any thing, and fight on death at sustained 2 if they get wiped in melee
@@ba_commander Yeah, I get that! Their only real downside (other than not having jump packs!) is the lack of leader options. I was running them with the chaplain in GTF where they are quite nutty, but since the upgrade to SOS I'm going to give old Tycho the Lost a go.
You didn't cover the Capitan with assault intercessors. He doesn't really buff them but they buff him quite a lot. Especially if he tasks the archangels shard.
I swear you have a hate-boner for terminators. Why would you pick the single worst representation of terminators for your chart? A squad of generic terminators with power fists out-performs oll of these numbers for assault terminators! And why compare good options for some (chaplain) verses clearly inferior - and more expensive - options for terminators? This makes no sense. 5x Storm Bolters, 5x Power Fists, 1x Cyclone missile launcher + Terminator Librarian: 18.5, 11.11, 14.81, 5.56 (no buffs). Crappy against T11+ but better against everything else AND gets both meaningful shooting before the charge and an extra +1 to hit against OoM, which is damn near a 50% damage buff. It's just a weird set of options to test, man.
I mean we're talking about Assault Units, I guess Assault Terminators are a shitty option. Having tried the shooting terminators a few times this edition I've been whole-y unimpressed. It takes me hours to make these maths charts, it's hard to know the best squads to choose each time. Sorry.
@@ba_commander I hate it, but assault terminators are just bad overall. Nothing gained except an extra W which will do zero against damage 2 weapons. Lightning claws used to be my favourite terminator weapons, but now they're a cruel mockery of something that used to be good.

I tend to feel the SP is better than the regular Libby.
I must be some kind of buying 2 Land Raider Redeemers, waited 8 months to get my Cataract surgery then the left and last eye got surgery TODAY.
So you buying 2? :)
What’s the maths with LC Terms with a Term Chaplain…? 😅
Im going to try gabriel seth with some assault intercessors and a sang priest. I think it would make Seth into a crazy beatstick
It sure would. Alot of people are recommending this!
@@ba_commander that ap 3, 3 damage is speaking to us brother
10 assault intercessors with the priest and Gabriel Seth out the front of the raider. The unit will wreck anything it hits and keep going with the FNP. The squad buffs Seth wonderfully. I’ve run this about 7 times since the dataslate.
Mainly the wound rerolls on Seth are good?
@@ba_commander I always roll ones when I hit with Seth. I’m just lucky that way I think and the squad solves that right there. If you’re on an objective the other person’s squad is just done. Dreadnoughts, tanks and higher toughness monsters just get shredded also, especially when you factor the red rampage into it.
So blade guard with the Chaplin is a no go/suboptimal?
If your willing to pay for Red Rampage, then yes.
Any thoughts on jump pack intercessiors?
I think that's an idea for another video.
Couldnt you run two bladeguard squads in a land raider? That makes them have waaay more damage for one transport.
I don’t think many people consider this, good point
What about the Gravis Capt + Aggressors?
Their recent points hike is pretty... rubbish.
Yeah, that is pretty good, attached the priest for the extra AP?
@@ba_commander yeah, that unit is a horror
What do you think of 10 Assault Intercessors with a Chaplain ?
I like it
i hope we would get some kind of DA boxset.
Nothing wrong with a bit of red ramage
Gabriel Seth in landraider redeemer with sang priest and 10 assault intercessors 😮💨
Boom!
Repulsor is the vehicle I have been using
It’s certainly viable. No assault ramp is a little disappointing!
Absolutely man the no assault ramp hurts but I gotta play with what I have lol. It's a good delivery for Gabriel Seth for me though
Out of curiosity, why didn't you include Aggressors? They slap in both melee and range.
Their recent points hike is really hurting them no?
@@ba_commander I don't think the aggressor hike is enough to make the unit non-viable.
@@stephenwitham sure. But when a units gone up 20% in a couple of months and you’ve got alot of experience with them and their weaknesses, I guess it’s pushing me away from them.
Kitbashing my Caplain now.😂
Seth with Assault intercessors, sang priest and red rampage is king
How many points does this combo cost?
320 pts @@ba_commander
No foot deathcompany?
With a chaplain and all fists or hammers. Nothing lives if you make the charge
Yeah true!
Gonna test them out this weekend in SoS out of a redeemer with a chaplain. They can kill any thing, and fight on death at sustained 2 if they get wiped in melee
This video was the 40k equivalent of "will it blend". 😂
And the answer is yes, it will indeed blend! ⚔
Pretty much!
Aren't Land Raiders moving only 10"? and not 12"?
Redeemers are 12!
Fair enough! Thanks for the reply and the good work! @@ba_commander
Is judiciars strike first really worth 70 points ?
Depends if your making your charges I guess right?
@@ba_commander always making charges coming out of my land raider!
@@ba_commander by the power of sanguineous. I will!
It's weird that you've flat out ignored DC foot marines? Re-roll hits, sustained hits 1 - 2, 40 S10 power fist attacks from a squad of 10.
Really good point, I guess I don’t play those guys. I always tend to have my DC with jump packs. They’d be pretty dope.
@@ba_commander Yeah, I get that! Their only real downside (other than not having jump packs!) is the lack of leader options. I was running them with the chaplain in GTF where they are quite nutty, but since the upgrade to SOS I'm going to give old Tycho the Lost a go.
But termies with TH will hit with S10...
Yeah I guess that would have changed a few wound rolls, my mistake!
mephiston with a SP...hmmm
Unfortunately that’s not a valid combo.
thought it was considering meph has capt key word@@ba_commander
We run BGV's with a capt and LT.....easy money
Souns strong!
@@ba_commander they gain lethals, FB/charge, and Captain's abilities.
Love your stuff but there's a U in Corbulos name..pronounce it m8! Lol oh and use spell checker on your slides 😂
Thanks for the tip
YES!!!!! :D
You didn't cover the Capitan with assault intercessors.
He doesn't really buff them but they buff him quite a lot.
Especially if he tasks the archangels shard.
Can't beat firstborn foot DC to be honest.
Why you allways say Mephiston or Sangiunary priest? Mephiston has the keyword Captain. So you can use a priest and Mephiston.
You can't this is an error, Mephiston is not a captain.
good to know thanks for that. Seems like battlescribe takes forever to correct that 😅
had to correct my army list now :D
@@ba_commander
Blade guard out of a landraider is something I'm trying out tonight actually.
