    I've used this before and I love it! I actually used an old milk container so that it keeps that square edge vs the round of a cup. Works really great!

    This is perfectly timed, I was just talking to someone about the need for good quality fake ice, and how expensive it can get.

    Oh my gosh THANK YOU! And they FLOAT!! More of that pesky specific gravity! Clear ice is awesome! Now to experiment with my home solution for a convincing "frosted glass".

      Hairspray or a 50/50 solution of glycerin and distilled water. Apply to a clean, dry glass. Then handle the prop glass with gloves. Add and remove the liquid with a turkey baster.

    How well do they transport? if you packed them in some sort of padding, would the padding texture leave an impression?

    How long do these cubes last if you have them for display in a glass container? Thank you.

    Wonder if you used plastic wrap to line the ice cube trays when freezing, if you could accomplish 2 things: (1) add multiple shape factors to each individual cube and (2) make the cubes easier to remove from the ice trays once frozen. Hmmm, just a thought. 🤔

    Hi Joanie,
    Do you know if it is toxic? Could one remove the ice and still drink the liquid? (😂 Not that one would necessarily want to... Just checking)

    • @TheBiteShot
      @TheBiteShot  2 роки тому +1

      It's not stated as non-toxic but it's also not specified as food safe so I would not consume the drink after.

    I know this sounds crazy, but I wonder if the fake ice can also be made to look slightly cloudy like water that isn’t filtered? Wanting to show home ice (cloudy) versus clear ice (filtered).

    Thank you, Joanie! Great video! Now with the capso ice what do you use to replicate the droplets on the glass to show how cold a drink is? I know many ppl use glycerin and water 50/50 but I find it looks weird. I'm curious to know if there are any other options.

    • @TheBiteShot
      @TheBiteShot  2 роки тому +1

      I just use water in a small spray bottle. I find the size of the mist from the spray bottle is key because they all put out different sizes of drops. I like a fine mist.

    Great tip - thanks for sharing Joanie 🙏 QUESTION: In the comments I can see others like me that don't have this product available in their countries. Maybe you could explain what the product is (more than the products name) since we might then find something similar. Someone asks if it is epoxy? Thanks a lot in advance;-)

    • @TheBiteShot
      @TheBiteShot  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! I'm not entirely sure what it is from a chemical / product standpoint and I'd hate to steer you in the wrong direction. Here's the page from the manufacturer's website in case that's helpful: www.smooth-on.com/products/encapso-k/

  • @andywira
    @andywira 2 роки тому +1

    Sadly this doesn't ship to my country, is there an alternative name to the product? I guess its not the same as resin/epoxy right?

  • @Marc_Juneau

    Yeah, it's not as cheap as you stated. However, it would still be a worthwhile purchase. After all, the more believable a image is the more money we can make. Always remember your ROI

    I used actual ice, it's free. Just need a refrigerator. They have refrigerator in restaurants and we have at home also. And u can get real ice also from market. Why to use artificial then.
