No lie. This was a great-no. Amazing issue. The art is fantastic and Love everything about this. You can tell Sonic is having a blast dressing up as the Phantom Rider. My Boi is a menace on a mission. The best thing about this issue was all the expressions from various cast members. Btw look at Jewel’s face here at 5:55 after Duo leaves. That's not Nick Furry’s “now that’s some bullsh**” look she is giving him. One last thing I have to say, Surge was giving me Grimmjow from Bleach vibes. Especially with how she pulled up on Sonic. This girl wanted ALL smoke. She needs this fade. As CJDaChump once said about Grimmjow. An absolute smoke demon. And guys leave the sheep 🐏 alone, please. I feel your hate boners every time she pops up. Even when she goes to get a drink. The snipers are already there.
You know, I have to wonder if Belle being strung up in the locker is a shout out to a part from the original Pinocchio book where the Fox and Cat string Pinocchio up from a tree. Idk; maybe it's just a coincidence, or else I'm over thinking it? Ironically, Belle here is being RESCUED by a fox... and a hedgehog.
If I have to defend Lanolin, I’d say it’s not the first time one of the characters accidentally causes some damage while fighting a threat that was endangering people. Still, whatever lesson she needs to learn from all this I hope it comes to her before this race wraps up. Just like I’m hoping Jewel figures out what’s going on BEFORE Amy and Tails reveal it to her since she’s smart. Also, The Phantom Rider really is an awesome concept. And I hope if Surge enjoys her time as a hero, and that if she ever tried to fault Sonic for playing evil, he’d throw her sabotage and “Trial By Fire” actions back at her if he gets the chance. Now someone help Belle out. I do not want to see her suffer any more. Wood Girl needs some good times.
Yeah Lanolin doesn't really NEED defining in this. Because people going after her for what she did in this issue are just showing the hypocrisy of their impossible standards. Like I'll mock the heck out of aspects of her personality because I can understand and appreciate her character type, a character type that doesn't seem to exist in the minds of her critics yet is fairly common among hero teams especially early on for most teams. So I really hope that Jewel figures out Clutch's plan first and Lanolin immediately agree to Jewel's proclamation no questions asked only to get a few dirty looks, because that's her personality type.
First people were getting mad that she was stepping on Sally's toes, then they get mad and complain when they try to set her apart more. Damned if lanolin does or doesn't it seems

You know it would be cool if IDW pulled a Teen Titans on us by treating Phantom Rider like Red X. Like we all thought Sonic was Phantom Rider the same way we did with Robin but this new hedgehog comes out of nowhere and plays on his own side while everyone is trying to figure who he is.
I loved this issue!!!! I hope all the future issues are this good. Cool action, funny scenes, game references, and jewel is being smart and picking up on duo.
Man, I am so scared for the fallout of Sonic getting caught doing this. Especially since Lanolin could see it as him aiding in the endangerment of lives due to the glass shattering incident. It's not gonna be pretty. I predict you'll give this comic a 9.2/10.

This comic is really good. It's a lot different from Stanley's first time writing her own comic. This is incredible. Surge and Kit, Jewel showing suspicion, Clutch's caution, Sonic as the Phantom Rider, it's all good
This issue was so good and hilarious, especially the parts when Sonic was driving Jet mad😆 But my favourite part was when Surge and Kit got recognised as Heroes, her smile was so cute! So excited for issue 71😊
seriously though surge has become well known and this is her first time on tv depicted as a hero. its really odd their friends and family haven't reached out.
This issue was very great and Sonic is the Phantom Rider. And can I say that costume is literally cool. It reminds me of a Power Ranger and I hope they can use this costume in the games in the future. And I literally smiled from ear to ear when I saw Surge smile feeling and being like a hero, since I want her to feel good about herself. Maybe something like this could help her change her mind to come to the light and be a hero. That made my day! For Lanolin the shock on her face says it enough. She was so absorbed about catching this Phantom rider and upholding the rules to the point that she's forgetting about every other racers safety. And thank goodness for Tangle and her tail and Whisper's sharp shooting. And Jewel knows that something is up with Duo. I just hope in this arc Lanolin learns a lesson about friendship And to apologize to Sonic, Whisper, Silver, Tangle Amy, and Tails and practically everyone she might have gotten angry or offended. And maybe I want Lanolin to step down from her leadership role and get it to Tangle or Whisper since those two both have more experience than her and one of them was one of the original members of the Diamond Cutters. And also Duo getting a out in the public and for Tangle and Whisper to capture him. And also what happened to Belle?! Who would want to capture and dismantle her. I hope she can tell a lot of answers in the next issue. Because so far this comic run is going pretty good and cool. I can't wait to see the Phantom Rider to be the winner and expose the bad guys in the process.

I feel like Lanolin and the Diamond Cutters could benefit from some more official/professional training. One way I could see this happening is if they get a mini-series where they’d introduce G.U.N, with maybe Jewel signing them up for G.U.N’s basic training or a joint training program with Team Dark. Either way it’d also serve to bring in some more Human characters to the IDW series.
Honestly, the whole Restoration could benefit from a partnership with GUN and vice versa. The Restoration has done a better job at fighting immediate threats, but their security is atrocious! The bad guys have gotten through the Restoration's defenses much easier than Sonic, Tails, Amy, Shadow, Rouge, and Eggman (in just his Egg Walker) have through GUN's!

Sonic troll humor worked well as the Phantom Rider. Laolin need to see that she cannot always control everything, some chaos is to be appreciated. But if she criticizes others rash actions and cannot see her own then and only then will we have a problem. Still Hope jewels frown face is a face of wondering and not angry at team sonic. Mimic and Clean Sweep clearly underestimate her, and if she can floor them by showing she is smarter then they thought that would be a fitting end to the Clean Sweep antagonist Surge need to be praised as heroes though may not result in a heroic heel face turn, but if they really wanted a twist, the writers can write it as a desperate need at all cause to become an imaged hero. Causing chaos and solve it so to speak

Clean Sweep Inc. built this race course. So, you can blame Clutch for endangering innocent lives. As well as making Surge and Kit uneasy.
