It’s kind of beautiful seeing these old birds fly in the skies again, rather than being used in war, they’re being shown as beautiful, restored, wooden canvas pieces of art on wings… You rarely see these old beauties anymore, sure you got ww2 planes, but you can still find old spare parts in old hangers that once housed them, blueprints are still intact to make newer modernized versions or fix up original one’s, hell where I’m from they always fly 2 B-29 super fortresses all the time, and one time I saw a B-24 Liberator flying around with a P-51 Mustang too.
These aircraft are vaguely similar replicas. Nothing about them is original, either in design, construction or engines. Not belittling their efforts but they are not "rebuilding" WW1 aircraft as the video title suggests.
These guys flew across parts of Canada and dropped into my airport for gas. It’s not every day you see 2 WW1 airplanes fly over in formation. Strangely it was only the ladies I was with who were invited to sit in the airplanes 😒. Pilots will be pilots….

They are gorgeous !
indeed , , , well done lads ! ! !
Excellent... well done lads !!
Nice planes! You could always put a Radial engine in the Sopwith.....
Very very nice!! Awsome guys!!
Could you please recommend any good books about building such planes and biplanes.
I'm not sure there ARE any ... If anyone knows better, I'd like to know, too!
Search for fokkerteam-shorndorf. He (achim engels) has a free buildlog of his fokker dVII.
Have a look on yt for AchimEngels, very interesting video's to say the least.
I love WWI history and I have made several personal Transformers characters based off of WWI veihcles
I read Billy Bishop's ..book he stated that his Aircraft could do 200 mph in a dive...
a cessna engine? nice job but get a radial!
A snipe without a blip switch should be a crime 😭
to which "German" engine are they referring?

True. Do you know what they are? There are several people selling kits for WW1 aircraft.
Considering the fact that most WWI aircraft were scrapped or destroyed, so this the best current option
Wheel hide have to
Wright shut catapult
I was actually going to make a ww1 plane right now
Do so
They arent using the original engines....big deal
