I paint the trunks on my trees too. It’s supposed to be beneficial for both summer and winter.
Looking good over there. Took but hasn't pushed is at least half the battle 😊
true! hope they do something soon tho and not wait until next spring like my other grafts did 😔
@@raregrowsNJ I've had one wait like 6 years lol
@@VirginiaFruitGrower 😭😭😭
Looks good exactly what I wanna do
Looking great so far!! 7A is a tough place for them to grow, but good on ya for testing out the trifoliate hybrids! Any luck with 852??
The graft is growing now. This one is actually Bishop which is a seedling of US852. Will report next spring if it survives our winter
@@raregrowsNJ got a bunch of 852 F2 seedlings going, looks like I have some clearly further hybridized ones.
@@ross2398 awesome, hopefully you get some interesting fruits out of those F2s. Which zone are you in?
@@raregrowsNJ 7B!
Are you selling Taitri seeds, would it be possibly to get them in europe?
No fruit on it as it's a seedling rootstock 😞. Are you on the Tropical Fruit Forum or CitrusGrowers? You can ask some of the European members if they have it
@@raregrowsNJ yes I asked and no one replied haha. I guess its a rarity
Did you graft them in spring time?
Late May into mid June
@@raregrowsNJ I just received scion wood on a few things, but not sure if they last until late spring to do the grafting. Any suggestions? I’m in PNW western Washington state zone 8b
@@yochanontheseeker1942 are the rootstocks potted up or outdoors? I don't think citrus can be grafted now it's too cold. If you have an indoor setup with LED lighting and sufficient heat, could use a plant heat mat you could probably do that. You can also try to root the scions
@@raregrowsNJ I just want to keep the scions viable in the fridge until mid spring. They’re just cuttings wrapped in wet newspaper in ziplock bags.
if this link works, you can check here. the members here have more experience on this topic than me. i always try to immidiately use the scions, have never tried to store them for more than a week. tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?topic=27727.0@@yochanontheseeker1942
Was your Ichang Papeda from me?
I traded for this one on the tropical fruit forums, it's originally from fruitwoodnursery
@@raregrowsNJ ah ok
@@VirginiaFruitGrower where is yours from? seed or cutting? i was also able to get a morton from fruitwoodnursery. they no longer offer citrus
@raregrowsNJ I got my ichang papeda prior to 2005 and I cannot remember where I sourced it. Possibly from overseas. I'm trying to see who I shared wood with before because my mother tree died and my back up was cut below the graft by landscapers.
@@raregrowsNJ mine was from a mature scion
push out game not strong yet
