Sucks for the free hours, you'd think they'd be able to identify who abuse it and ban those accounts. It was a nice way to top up.
I think he alluded to the fact that he didn't want a regular person to be banned if their rating activity happened to look like the bot accounts. Which is kind of understandable I guess

Thanks for the vid, this is where I get my Midjourney news. I'm so disappointed about the fast hours. I feel like I'm in grade 6 and some idiot just ruined it for the rest of us so we're all getting detention. I figured it would end at some point, but not like this.

DAMNIT!! they went and ruined the free hours. wtf. what incentive is there to contribute?! hope that gets fixed... and like REAL fast. I am slightly hopeful that image ranking data has been collected in the past all along though for personalization.

indeed! I also wonder how anyone could abuse this? It was really fun rating the images, and while doing it i collected tons of prompts and images for an inspiration sheet (400 pages now), it was just fun to rate and of course the free hour was superb!
@@rossobosso bots. someone scripted out the ranking system to bank hours.
They eliminated free trial subs, prevented the $10 sub from running Relax mode, and have now cut out ranking for hours. There are ways to prevent abuse of benefits (bots), such as reCAPTCHA. I hope they devote some time soon to customer satisfaction...
@@user-zg2qp4xb3n For real Joe. its a challenge looking for a simple solution. to not create one indicates no interest. If ranking really does help them with the model then they need to incentivize it. I'm happy to participate in building a better boat some some modicum of compensatory trade is definitely in order. otherwise... I'll just go on my merry way and not develop the product.

I use mostly relax anyway. Only switch to fast for testing.
Still doing ranking pairs though. I get a lot of ideas from it and always have a good laugh at the pictures I see.
Now what I really want is to be able to add more than one cref character to the same pictures.
My characters want to meet with each other!

Personal style would be great. Next step would be if they gave users some control, like you could train a number of different personal styles and name them and then reference them in a prompt when you want to use them.

I think they really need to push character reference update. It’s okay for faces, but for trying to get a character like Animated Series Batman specifically it’s nearly impossible in its current state. Or any characters with unique clothes, or that are faceless
Yah I noticed it had trouble with cartoon characters for sure
I must say after first tesouts i had much better resulsts when just taking one or two reference images for the prompt. it has it´s limitations, but it worked quite nice, but let´s just see if and how they will/can optimize the new feature =D

Neat info! Perhaps the personal Model will allow for artful nudity. I am so bummed about losing the free hours though, that was a great way for folks on a budget like me to get more rolls.

i bought the midjourney 10$ basic plan i’m not kinda satisfied if i buy the 30$ plan now, what gonna happens to my 10$ plan will it be canceled or should i wait for 10$ plan end
umm let's say you had 1 hour left on your plan, I'm 90% sure it would just get added to your new plan. Like you wouldn't lose it. But I'm not exactly sure - you should ask around in the billing support channel on Discord

Hey i simply love your updates and specially these prompts. Ok so i am curious which prompt would you use create an old, vintage medieval art
haha well I would certainly start with 'old vintage medieval art' 😂 or you could try taking a reference image and using it with the /describe feature!

haha the midjourney website is amazing! If I ever see a cool picture, I try to make some adjustments and add my own subjects
You do a great job. Do you have the same subjects you apply to each prompt or vary according to the look of the prompt

Beautiful men & women have been in the artistic gaze for 1000s of years. No tech or corporation is gonna change that... the AI is obviously picking this up and seeing all the most liked pictures are (drum roll)... beautiful women and handsome men... oh the shock!!!
it might sound concerning when you hear it reported, but I promise you - it's not nefarious. I highly recommend listening to the Office Hours so you can get to know David better. So don't take my recap too seriously!

Maybe the Free-Hour-System is being abused because MidJourney cuts off the paid hours at the end of the billing period? If someone pays 70 USD or more and then gets their unused hours cut, I can understand people who want to get at least some of their paid hours back. If someone only has the Basic Plan but uses bots to fraudulently obtain many free hours, I'm against that too. Yes, it's stated in the contract that hours will be cut off. But that doesn't make it any less frustrating.
Yah having to use up all your hours every month can be frustrating sometimes!
