This is the greatest solo performance on acoustic I have ever seen by Larry coryell...he had such a soulful intelligent vision of his own talent.a great full Capricorn thanks you the poster.
I miss the man....I know that his lovely wife, Tracey, has an emptiness that'll not be filled. He was not only an amazing guitarist, but a very "present" and kind person. Not pretentious....just prescient. I'm glad we can pull him up on youtube.
I bought an Ovation Custom Legend stereo electric because of the European Impressions LP reverse cover pic from this show, nice to see it in action in the hands of a master!
Who is hiding Rodrigo Ref from this concert? It is the greatest feat ever displayed on a guitar and one of the best songs ever written!! Please bring it out :)
Magnificent. Larry was such an intensely interesting soloist. This is him at his best IMO, ie just him and and that Ovation. I’ve never heard this piece before. I assume he was improvising a large part of it. Just great.
Always went for it! Took risks and chances playing live... he showed his light but also his darkness without trying to hide it (sometimes wasn't very clear in his shredding)... This was a composition of his that in the studio recording was probably close to 4 minutes... here he REALLY improvised on the spot... I don't like to watch this era of his because he was very suffered incide. Year is ending and without judging his ways, I have viewed it... he was a musician at a very deep level, his cells had music in them... you Just have to be okay with your darkness, not trying to medicamentos it and not be afraid of it. If you allow all of the aspects of your personality to be, they start to heal naturally, they feel welcome by you
I was in Pittsburgh and he opened for return to forever, I was sitting in orchestra pit. High as fuck and I turned to this stranger next to me and said who is this and she look at me like I was an alien and said this is Larry Cornell Never looked back
It says‘ free improvisation’ at the end? Every time I’ve heard of ‘yfree improvisation’ in jazz it is noise. To me freestyle jazz improvisation means the music has (no key)or root. Derick Bailey noise. Pat metheny says’ when someone kicks row of garbage cans down flight of stairs he hears music.

RIP Larry. Thank you for giving me 43 years of listening pleasure. Monstrous talent!
This is one of the great performances on an acoustic ever.

So did I!
RIP Larry...and thank you.

I had this album . Hard to find now.
Usually some near-mint copies on Ebay - I bought several back-ups over the years. Also, CD released in Japan not long after we lost Larry.
@@scottnorris988 cool. I remember I had this in high school '81 and my art teacher liked it. Wish I had the tablature
I have it. Love it still. There's one for cheap on Amazon right now!

Do you have him doing song for my father/sister sadie?
This kinda sounds buckethead? Coryell probably influenced buckethead.
Who's got the tab?
