great video. I ordered both sizes to use in Florida this winter. Will be fishing BFL's on Harris and Toho. When you were casting shallow and pumping the rod was that because of the weeds. Keep the videos coming.
I believe so.. I fish the smaller one a good bit.. it comes thru grass well but it needs that pump/rip to get thru it… I 100% believe that’s the trigger.. I rarely throw a rattle trap anymore.. this puppy has replaced the rattle trap for me..

I've caught a couple on the hybrid hunter but usually just on a stop and go retrieve. I'm intrigued by that "reel then pull" that you are doing! Looks interesting
Love the Hybrid Hunters. In East TN I will have times they want the big one and somedays they want the small one. You would be surprised how a little dink 8 in small mouth will knock the hell out of the original. Just have 2 rods rigged up and ready to go. I use BPS line(get a great discount) so I use 17lbs test for the original and 14 for the Jr. 17 in the BPS is the same diameter as the 20 he uses.

I noticed the bite window was small too, better be out there. I found them schooling on small shad but it didn’t last all day. It seemed mid day was the best time. Water temperature was 55 in East Tx
So it’s a good cold water bait? I’ve had good success with them this past summer. Trying to get dialed in on my cranking baits. It’s not easy cranking on the bank. I’ll tie something on when I’m in my yak or boat when I can get in them. But I love the hybrid hunter. Thanks man.
Hey man ive been seeing everbody talking about this lure. Pretty cool how you have so much tied to it when it comes to producing this bait. I live in nj and dont have much grass where i fish. Will the HH work well on just wood or rock? Also ive seen some people throw out most of their lipless and squarebill crankbaits and switch them out for these. Do you think this is a better option than a squarebill and lipless? As always though keep up the videos!

Man on toledo I've noticed more and more people have absolutely zero problems trolling right up to you and start fishing... the ones that piss me off the most are the guys that will see you catch a fish shut down and run right over your fish then start fishing or get back up on pad and leave. Back in the day them types of things would happen but nowhere near as often as it does these days...
We don’t have that problem in the Atchafalaya. I’ve been wanting to visit TB but I’ve been hearing tons of stuff like this. I’d hate to have to start a game of battleship with a local out there.
I’m 67 years old and have noticed a big change in this behavior over the years and I have a theory about this. When I started fishing over 40 years ago since there was no internet we all read fishing magazines to get information to catch more. Back then all these magazines like field and stream had articles and opinion page that included fishing and hunting etiquette. We were told not to crowd other fishermen out of respect also boat ramp etiquette was written about. I realize lakes have more people on them now but believe there is room for courtesy and respect out there but where do younger fishermen learn these habits ? With the demise of the magazines they don’t. I don’t really know the solution but know no problem can be solved without first identifying the root cause.

Confused about the difference between the regular HH and the shallow version. Is the bill different on the shallow? I guess what I have are all the regular.
Did you figure out that the deep fish and grass fish are two different groups that behave differently, or did you know that already? I see you're not giving up the special retrieve. I throw the smaller HH on my local lake and the fish seem to want it fast, then stopped. No grass to speak of, just wood.
As far as I know. The secret was out about a month after this bait hit the market. Bout 2 one larger one smaller. Both have performed rather well I must say

Most still don’t know about it, there are tons of baits that come out every year and never get talked about again, because they really didn’t catch them. If you read the comments they are usually 1 of two things. Guys saying that smashed them on it, or guys asking about it.
this bait is nothing new, maybe new to the way lures are made, plastic vs wood but I used a bait almost identical to the HH except it was wood with a metal lip, and like the HH, it was a killer. I still have a few of them but they are getting harder to find. I love this bait and have several, but its nothing new, it do catch fish though. cats out of the bag, cant put it back now,lol

Guys around here haven’t figured out how awesome of a lure it is. Always have it tied on. They replanted my lake with eel and hydrilla 2 yrs ago. That thing is unreal now
