Key has a TON of allergies, so as long as it includes all his nutritional needs, it isn't a bad idea. I wouldn't feed a dog solely that if it were me personally, but if it works for him then I say it's great because he has sooo many allergies.

So someone finally capitalized on abo (Australian indigenous bushcraft survival) training and made a line of pet nutrition products - and they pass your high bar of scrutiny and Key's allergy, smell and taste test? Seriously smart move. Wonder if they'll include the massive double wave of locusts that are emerging now through April. I wonder if these insects are farmed for quality control or if they wild harvest and where? I'll definitely be checking this out! Can't wait to get Jamie and Sherpa's take on it. Late but most insects that are used for food based products are farm raised basically. Kind of like how reptile keepers have been raising insects for their pets. Can't really do that with wild bugs as they often have parasites. But the water/space/food demands for bugs have a way lower impact on the planet than say cattle.

You might want to look into bugs as a food source for dogs to make sure they don't cause inflammation like they do if people eat bugs. Something about their exoskeleton that we can't digest. Little bits of exoskeleton get stuck in the going through process. Gut problems can lead to all kinds of other ailments.
Dogs can digest bones where people can not so it might be ok? But you'll want to check to be sure. Don't rely on your vet either, they will say it's ok because they only make money if they have customers just like the people med system.🤔🤨😎👍

FYI If you have a shellfish allergy you shouldn’t handle bug proteins as they are similar. Dogs will naturally catch the odd locust and eat it but large amounts wouldn’t be a part of their diet. It’s not about just protein but whether his body recognizes it or has the enzymes to break down and use it.

The “spicy fly” is a flying insect with a really sharp butt - wasp, bee, hornet, you name it. Fortunately, most such animals survive these confrontations. But usually not without a lot of fun getting made of them by their human friends with cameras.
I remember that time, poor leg, the spicy fly 🐝 got him good. But at least revenge was had with every bite of the bug treat 😁

It would make me feel so much better, ethically, when feeding this. I didn't see any cat food on their site so I'll email them later & see if that's in the works~
Being a small company, they may not be able to source enough Taurine to make catfood. Cats require a minimum level of Taurine in their food to maintain eye health and prevent other health problems.

When I was 19 years old at work, I had to take out the trash, and as I opened the lid (which I didn't see it ) a wasp flew out at me and stung me, I was in pain for about a week. I forgot how I got rid of it but it hurt.
