Alfred, this is the same ship that the super yacht 'AWOL' was transported from Italy to Fort Lauderdale on while Tristan Mortlock was Capt after the boat was sold in 2021. He showed the whole loading and unloading process including the welding of the supports for each of the yachts, plus a look around the interior of the ship. It was VERY interesting on the channel "Superyacht Captain".
Thanks for showing this ship to us and giving yet another excellent view of how the vessel works.
Very cool ! Looking forward to more footage on the river.
Thank Captain Courtney for allowing you to film. Very knowledgeable Capt.
Alfred - there are videos out there showing those boats load up. They get the boats in the ship, then scuba divers go under and weld blocks to the ship, then they lower the water in the ship and the boats sit on the blocks. Generally a person(s) from the boat travels with the boat, this way they can work on the boat while it is 'dry' docked.
Yeah cool ae😊
There schedules pretty hectic too
Alfred you're on fire this year, great videos!
Those Cape Ann boys are badass. Steering those tugs with the throttles. Never touch the wheel.
Nothing special
Alfred, I watched last year how this is done when super yacht Captain Tristan Mortlock and his engineer came over with AWOL after it was sold and had to reposition in Miami for charters in the Bahamas.
Love these tug boat videos! I think if I had been exposed to this lifestyle earlier in life, I would have had a career on the water. I never realized how much I love it until seeing videos like this over the years. I always wanted to live by the ocean and mountains and I made it to BC, but my bucket list just keeps getting longer. What Chris, Courtney and his daughter, Hailey do feels ideal to me. I would love that office, but you can't replace experience and I am a lil late in the game. I will live vicariously through you guys for now unless someone throws me in the deep end suddenly and hands me their company in some weird CERN parallel universe. Lol
Thanks for your commitment to great PG content Alfred. Appreciate you.
Loving the "Tug Series" Keep them coming
😮Thank you for such great videos. So so interesting and informative. Stressful just watching but can't stop watching. Truly enjoy these type of video. Tug Captains have nerve of steel. RB
The things UA-cam teaches. Thank you Alfred!!
Blue Sky backing out on Idol Nautilus blue skies are just using his thrusters
Thank you, Alfreda, Courtney and Chris, for doing these videos. Love watching and learning about all of this.🥰
Love this video it brought back fond memories of my childhood. My dad managed a wealthy person's yacht and they would charter the yacht in the Mediterranean during the summer months. I've been on board that yacht both loading and unloading. The yachts are actually hooked up to shore power on the vessel as there is always 1 crew member that stays with the yacht for the trans-atlantic voyage so they require power on board. The crazy part is that there are divers under the boats as they are loading and unloading setting blocks and rigging to keep the ships upright when they come out of the water. The yacht that my dad managed was the M/Y Octopussy which had 3 water jets similar to a jetski, and I can't even imagine how terrifying it would be to be anywhere near the inlets while the ship is operating. But great video and thanks for sharing.
I really enjoyed it, I watched it from start to finish, thank you very much for the images
i like the content Alfred
Love to see the engine room on this beast. you should film it.
Great video very educational!
It was great been watching your video, watch the other one towing the yath and bring it back to his stocking and now the boat barge cool
This is extremely interesting! Great idea Alfred on documenting this.
Very impressed with Capt Courtney’s professionalism!
I worked on this vessel for a few months. Its mostly a floating dry dock. Most yacht crew work on there vessels while we were in transit.
I used to do this with ellis and Courtney on that tugboat. The people on that ship carrier were very good at handling this operation. Everything worked fine, just had to watch out for the wakes from passing boats
The UA-cam channel "Super Yacht Captain" has a playlist of videos showing the transport of a super yacht from the Med to Florida,
This was a good video also!
Just "WOW" !!!!🤯🤯🤯
Another awesome vlog, Alfred 👍👌👏✌️🇺🇸
Thanks, Captain, for taking us along,
Love the tug series!
I'll keep it simple --- More like this please. =) =) You made a comment that sums it up perfectly : "It's facinating to see how this [sort of stuff] happens." --- It's awsome to see how things like this work. Things us everyday people are rarely even aware of, much less ever get to see happen.
This is awesome. I had no idea that is how boats get to the boat show. You are the man Alfred.... I love what you do and the content you bring to us. Would love to know what it cost to have a boat moved by one of these ships.
this is a great video it's better than 10boolps in one video
very cool! thanks Alfred!😀
Any boat arriving with no name on it is likely a new vessel here for the boat show I would bet!
Seen a doco loading the boats for shipment on 1 of those big things was cool as ..big job for peoples that load those things❤
AWESOME JOB, Alfred 👌👍
This is cool. I never knew shipping your boat and living aboard the ship was a possibility until now. I am going to have to look into it a bit more.
Captain never touches the wheel, that is awesome. Crazy good.
Amazing!!!
Thanks, Alfred
Another good un Alfred… Thanks!
That was a very interesting video, thanks for sharing with us.
Unbelievable! Learned something today. As always primo.
cool stuff
love this, big $$$ being transported....great content Alfred 👍
I love Courtney's been there seen and done that way of being. Many years ago, in 1985 I was hanging out with the original owner of Cape Ann Towing.
Fascinating!!! 👍😊
That is wild wow so it’s like a mobile carrier that sinks to load an unload what a responsibility to carry so many expensive yachts at once . The liability for such a huge cost.
those tug boats take on a lot of water
Thank you 🙏
Ok got a request, first thank you Captain Courtney for the education and letting Alfred film on your tug. Could you explain how the captain steers the tug, never see him using the steering wheel, only the two levers, how does that work. Tia. Great videos love all the tug boat videos you have done. from Arizona City, Az.
Alfred there’s videos on UA-cam showing them loading the yachts in Europe. It’s mainly the smaller yachts and sailboats that don’t want to cross the Atlantic and also save on wear and tear of the crossing.
Epic
WOW what more can u say there are videos of this ship u will be shocked what goes to work this ship its great
Blue Sky 44.6 meters, that's a big girl!
your next video inside a disney cruise line when it is dock and look inside the engine room talking with the engineers and stuff like that just for the video. Then they give you a free cruise lol
So much money!
looks like a green heron
Ai will take over. Cortney will be a robot
Very cool, I allways whated to know how this worked. I operated tug boat on bridge project
Basically a floating drydock. They used one of these ships back when the USS Cole was hit. I believe it was the Cole.
how about a cruise ship series. u can take the family on the Disney and go alone for the Virgin cruise. lots to explore and show the viewers. find out about the pineapples on the doors etc. should be a fun time
I would like to see how they get all the mega yachts into Miami marinas for the boat show.
I can’t imagine the cost to transport their yachts! 😮
navy vessels do something similar with adding water inside the ship they call them steel beach parties
These people are experts. No chit show here.
All those yachts have different drafts so they must strap them down to the jacks and blocks.
Alfred , costs associated with these adventures ? and explanation of maneuvers with trans only on the tugs ? Thx ps. Top tenner
Interesting that they use straps, not lines to secure the boats inside the transport ship.
Yacht express has a UA-cam Channel
to get a ideal google the blue marlin ship
From uk 🇬🇧 u go on board boat transport
Captain of the tug that you're on Alfred what's the captain using clove hitch is on those cleats
I guess you did not see the USS Cole Cole back to the U.S. ?
Q would boats from uk 🇬🇧 go there for miami
Can ask him
What’s with all the clicking noises?? They’re in a lot of the videos…
it is only strange, wild , weird because YOU HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED IT BEFORE. I do not find anything about it strange. How do car companies move their product? How do products from China, Japan or other Countries get to North America or Europe? Think about it and you will no longer find it weird, wild or strange.
If you do so much how do you know so little?and stop saying wild
