From the list of compatible inverters doesn’t look like anything the homeowner or those looking for modularity and overall compatibility will buy or install. This is something salesman and solar companies will sell to consumers who don’t want to install or manage themselves. I don’t know who the majority of SS customers are, whether it’s DIY consumers or solar companies. Maybe they’re trying to cater to both. But this doesn’t seem like the vast solar consumers I watch on UA-cam would buy or use

Batteries don't get UL9540, that's a certification for ESS systems as a whole -- including the inverter. The cells in this unit are UL1642 and the modules are UL1973.
As previously mentioned, the UL9540 certification applies to entire Energy Storage Systems (ESS), which include both the inverter and battery working together.
