    No way! Thought the photo was only for visual reference. This is so great!!

    OK, I'm confused! This seems okay, but isn't there an easier way to do this? If I go to planner, click the icon for location to make sure I have the current location loaded, then click Save, I can create a new POI. Granted, I don't have an associated photo, but I've saved the location using about half the steps required, and I don't have to worry with permissions!

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  Рік тому

      Yep, that's another way to do it!

    Hello Rafael, thank you for this video. Can you write here when there will be a desktop version of PhotoPills. That would improve accuracy significantly.
    I'm also waiting for the opportunity to check whether a subject is free in front of the horizon.

    Thanks Rafael, another great tip! As well as saving the Plan, I sometimes save a screenshot of an AR view for reference, although this doesn't have GPS data (on my Android phone).

    Would love if the app got location search option, so we could type in the location instead of having to scroll and swipe through the map.

      It does in planner tap load, in the search box at the top you can enter a town name or you can enter Lat-Lon directly with that button.

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  Рік тому

      Yep! Tap load (at the bottom) and you'll see the search bar :)

    Any advice on the best tablet(s) to use with Photopills? In particular, I'm looking for the best, most complete scanners. Most don't have a gyroscope, etc.

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  Рік тому

      Our only request is a tablet that includes a compass sensor (for the AR). And the larger the screen the better of course!

    Once you have saved the point of interest, is there any way to see which photo(s) was/were linked with this point of interest?

    huh i just tried this on my Pixel 6 Pro with a photo that I confirmed has gps data attached to it and Photopills says "GPS data not found" I'd love for this to work as I often will take a quick pic when driving past something interesting and always have GPS enabled. Is there a trick to getting it to work?

      I’m having the same issue with iPhone 11. Precise Location allowed, and other apps can read the gps data.

      I am having the same issue with the iPhone 11pro. GPS is turned on but it gives a warning saying that GPS data not found - The image doesn't have GPS data or the camera used did not save the GPS coordinates when the picture was take. - But I went and doubled checked that GPS is indeed on for the photos. Is there something else that could be tried?

      I am having the same issue with my Samsung Galaxy S22. Location is enabled wherever I can find a reference. In settings and the Camera app

      If you are there & taking a photo with your phone, can’t you just mark the spot in photo pills & just add the photo? Just wondering.

    • @jertography
      @jertography Рік тому

      @@thomastuorto9929 i usually am driving passed and just notice an interesting area. currently i just take a pic and use google photos to show me each location. which is fine, but being able to easily import them into photopills would be a bonus.

    This looked like a fabulous time saver. When i followed the video, Photopills came up with an error message "GPS Data not found". The photos in my iPhone all have GPS data which I can see in the metadata field when I import the photos into Lightroom so I don't understand why this is not working.

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  Рік тому

      Hi. Probably because PhotoPills doesn't have access to your photos. Go to iOS Settings > PhotoPills > Photos and make sure PhotoPills has access to all your photos. If not, it cannot read the exif data.

    I've tried this with my Android phone and PhotoPills says there aren't any coordinates. I downloaded an app "GPS Map Camera" that I checked and does log coordinates and I got the same result. Do they have to be in a specific format or ???

    • @PhotoPills
      @PhotoPills  Рік тому

      Hi! Make sure you have the last version of PhotoPills. We released an update yesterday to fix a problem with Android 13. Also make sure you camera app stores the coordinates. The Android photo gallery should show the coordinate for the photo when you check the photo info.
