I have a few tactic ideas I would like to share they're not the best but they're just some ideas. 1. Depth charge tactic: if an enemy ship is close behind you and you have gunpowder barrels drop some off the back end of your boat. If the enemy ship is close enough behind you it's unlikely they will have time to turn to avoid them so the moment they hit them they will explode. With that part of the enemy crew will be distracted and you can hopefully get a couple shots on them. 2. Snake Guardians: if possible put some snake baskets on the end of each ladder on your ship, the anchor and the stairs leading up to the wheel. In the event of a hijacking anyone wanting to gain access to these parts of the ship will either have to play some music first or get bitten. This is useful because it was not only stall anyone trying to take over your ship but it will also hurt them making them quicker to kill. The downside to this tactic is the snakes will also go after you, so if you don't want to risk getting bitten try just using some empty cages on the anchor so it's hard to raise or lower. I know these tactics are not the best, but it's what I could think of. If you have any other ideas feel free to respond.
Ironic how many people either dont know or dont care about the pirates code saying that all disputes should be settled on the seas, not while on an island or docked as such. Im not making it up either, its literally in EVERY tavern at the door as your leaving.
I’m really not one who likes to nitpick much, but I think you’re referring to article 3 of the pirate code? “Disputes are settles upon the waves” and it reads, “none shall quarrel or overly dissent against another crew, but let every engagement be settles by sword pistol and good seamanship.” Pretty sure this just means don’t talk shit in game, and don’t spawn camp someone for no reason. Not about where you should be killing someone
The whole point of the code is to encourage good sportsmanship, fair play, and to warn cheaters. Sinking someones unattended boat because they might have loot is very much not good sportsmanship, thats like random tackles because they might have the ball in contact sports. Im not overtly against occassional acts of full on dicketry but some of this just encourages bad behaviour from bored players. Also, every dock, every port town, and every boat is a spawn point, which to argue your point means every ship battle ever is spawn camping, so the general idea of the code is thats its a guideline of good and bad behaviours, and players are supposed to use their judgement to determine fair play.
if they really wanted the rules followed to a T, there would be actual in game penalties. Just like in real life, if you just say something with no consequences, you either weren't being serious, or you don't actually care.
hey also tip regarding gun powder barrels, don't bother climbing on there boat and planting them its far easier to either swim under their boat and release them they will float up and put 5 holes in their hull or if a ship is chasing you throw them off the back of your boat if you can running into them will blow them up!
for the past 4 days, we've met only 1 guy who didnt spend the entire fight to run away until sunk (a solo guy on a sloop drove into the middle of a fight) :P
the respawning in this game is a bit frustrating. i know they want to give people a chance, but fending off the same ship every 5 minutes is not fun. spawns are way too close
Try fighting the fort 3 galleons and a sloop who all want the fort youve been fighting for an hour yeah that happened and for 3 hours they kept coming and coming till we finally made them bored from being sunk 100 times by one boat whos just slaughtering everyone coming to the fort
I have spent a week playing and looking up tips and strategies. six3 yours are the best. Thank you. That sword dash is gonna change my game completely!
I have a tip for solo sloop players, if you have loot and are being chased you have a few options. Try to shake them off using islands to hide behind/in or 180 and sail back out, the ol' Ali oop. Sail to a skull fort or another enemy ship and hope that you don't get shot. Ram dock into an put post and sell as much shit as you can, or keep sailing straight past an put post and jump off your sloop and sell then use the mermaid turn the ship around and rinse and repeat
Fahrenheit even when im solo galleons arent difficult. Again, if youre not a pussy and fight it out eventually you learn how to deal with these situations without being a bitch about it. And in turn getting more loot off the galleons you take down along the way. Its just a game dude youre not gonna die in real life. Grow a pair and fight it out with these guys. It is a pvp game. Ppl like you are the reason ppl cant take this game seriously because you refuse to fight ppl in a pvp game. Pathetic
Fahrenheit as i said, ppl like you will ruin this game. Serious gamers will stray away quickly when they get tired of pussies running all the time. Pls grow a pair or go play single player games. Stay offline if youre gonna act like a bitch. And you need some real friends if youre taking sea of thieves as your opportunity to make friends
I usually fake running away and while the other sloop follow me. I reduce the sail a little so that he can catch up and when he's about 3 sloop away, I handbrake turn on the side and they usually ram in me but loose because I got a ton of cannon balls hit
@@thedirtypodcast7936 Ship behind you, you drive in a straight line and he follows you in a straight line, you turn the wheel a bit to the left or right so your ship can do a 90 degree turn when you drop the anchor, your ship is now to the side and the enemy can ram you, you on the other hand can shoot their ship with lots of canonballs
My favourite uberstrat: Let the enemy chase you, then turn hard while dropping anchor. When the anchor hits the oceanfloor you'll drift like crazy and get a huge broadside when the enemy isn't expecting it. You'll get at least 10 shots into your opponent before he gets off even one shot. Be warned though, if you don't get the enemy to sink quickly you are dead in the water and easy to hit. You'll want at least two people on the cannons if you're gonna do it.
Tactics I recently came up with: Keel bomber. It's been proven going underwater (or at least the explosion going off underwater) does not damage you. So you can possibly sneak under or near the ship with a powder keg, let it loose, and detonate it from beneath the water. If possible take multiple crewmates. If you can try to dive off the mast beam from the crow's nest for mid-combat use. Speaking of which... Bomb dropping. If in the crow's nest and you don't think you are spotted you have a VERY good revenge position. Again, takes powder kegs but a nearby ship can have bombs lit and dropped by jumping over it, dropped in the water and shot from safety, or some combination thereof.
Here’s an extra tip (that works better on sloops) if you manage to kill an entire crew of a ship try your best to make their cannons point upwards and unload it. By doing this the crew would have to climb onto the top deck, grab a cannon, bring it all the way back down, load it, and then fire. In that time you can fit two to three shots in, dealing massive damage
While the video is really well made it also is the perfect display of why Xbox players have a shitty matchup in melee combat. That blunderbuss aiming was painful to watch. Much respect and salute to you sir.
It’s harder to hit but if explosives are in the mast tell a crew member to get an eye of reach and shoot the barrels if it’s a sloop they’re incapacitated
Clean professional intro and scripting, work on a more dynamic narration and you'll start seeing even more subs. Thanks for this guide btw, super helpful!
I’ve always been a pacifist in this game. If I had the choice I’d rather make a huge alliance and have the time of my life with tons of players having a good time with shanties, grog, and glory. But everyone just wants to attack on sight. Pains me to have to sink people, but if I have no choice then I’m not going down without a fight. Thanks for this video. Maybe one day I won’t have to use a cannonball ever again.
A tactic I have is Not so good but worked for me When Your being chased by another ship try turn right or left then Drop the anchor Make sure you have Some of your crew on repair and Shooting this allows you to quickly turn around Without notice and Fire They most likely won’t predict this allowing you to send a boarding party depending on how far they are from you Worked sometimes sometimes Failed badly with them ramming into the ship
How to sink a gally with a sloop. Ram Strat, ram the gally, repair your ship have a man board, kill the guy guarding it, the few on the island doing something will rush over soon (if anchored) Sail your sloop off so they can’t cannon, board, sink, chase or guard your holes. If they have their sails raised, do some more damage by lowering one and ramming it into the island. Guard the repairs and they can sink with one hole.
Sometimes it’s not about winning. It’s about not losing. Cutting your losses as much as possible. Never go all or nothing unless there’s no other option.
You shouldn't anchor in battle, If the other ship isn't anchored they can Just turn to the right angle and lower the back Sail to slowly get to the back of your ship and start bombarding you, while they do that you'll be vulnerable trying to raise the anchor and having to deal with their boarding party that is gonna stop you from raising your anchor. Basically what i'm saying is that If you anchor next to a crew that knows what they're doing, you sink.
Yeah you could get into a sticky situation, we always try to get that jump tho. If we start the shooting, and we board their ship first, they never have a chance to turn that ship and get in position in the first place
I can see your habit from other shooters to press X to reload your blunderbuds. You keep grabbing things when you’re in combat. Just a funny thing I noticed.
A lot of people are complaining about too many aggressive players and not enough friendlies. The game isn't called Sea Of Friends, it's Sea Of Thieves.
Still though. Everyone has their own definition of fun. For example I’ve always wanted to get an alliance of at least 4 galleons and sail the open seas with shanties, grog, and laughs to be had on the mic. That’s why the Sea Dogs Arena exists. It’s meant to be for the PvP enthusiasts. The main part of the game is all about choice. You can choose to be aggressive, or choose to be friendly. And I personally don’t mind aggressive players. But if the other ship is saying “we’re friendly” and “mercy” and you are still shooting at them. It’s kind of a dick move.
You're actually amazing and I think you should play more pub g Also maybe post more often Keep it up man and please don't have another 5 month gap between videos
I won’t :) I actually played a ton of pubg early on before it got huge and the cheaters and lack of support from the devs turned me off. Plus it’s more difficult to make vids aside from montage style videos. More to come here!
Now, if you're being attacked, make sure the pirates do nothing he said, because now all your enemies also know your tactics, if you use these tactics.
How do you drop barrels in water wothout detonating them? Me and friend on xbox yrued bordibg with barrels and pressed b for funsies while on the water and we both died cause they blew up
Wow 10/10 balanced gameplay, if people don’t have friends or don’t want to take their luck with a one in a million shot at a good crew with randoes on a galley your pretty much dead the moment a ship tags you
What about crossing? Cross at an angle or straight across behind or in front of an enemt to minimize the amount of fire you take the best is a T shape while moving.
While both boats are moving? Preferably I’d rather tbone right into them, but I guess if not, crossing at like a 45 degree angle would give you a good bit of time to shoot, as long as you trust your dedicated repair guy to clean up the return fire
He watched a video from some other guy who said go at a T angle. This is mainly a strategy for docked ships or ships that are either far away from you or boarded.
If you have more then 1 person, T-Bone them and leave one person to repair the boat and the other to kill the enemy. Don't let em repair and they'll eventually sink.
would love to see a share barrel on the ship where we can help each other with items and cash !! not able to be stolen by enemy players though thanks !!
Wow no fights as solo ive been in a fight as a solo its all changed now to ive sunk a couple of crews as one man and repaird all i want to know id how high you should have your sailwhen you next to an enemy
The worst types of players are the ones who come into an outpost with a haul, and youre friendly and let them all cash out, then they sink you for fun while leaving port. -.-
im a pc player. i think its nice that they did so the xbox players can play with only xbox players :) i could imagine it would be hard for them til play against us xD
Really man, attacking sloops on a galleon? For shame, I always go out of my way to sink galleons that try this. As a whole the most effective way of sinking ships of any size, sneak a gunpowder under them, climb aboard and kill them as they try to patch. The bigger the ship the more devastating it seems to be, it's really surprising how few 4 man galleons can deal with 2 man sloops.
4:30 you did not respect the pirate code. Article n.3. Sinking someone while questing and ducked on island, is for noob pirate. The good way is to wait until he take of the islend, then attake.
old news with the harpoon gun coming out in the next update lol and cooking and boats take even more damage per shot its insane but of course no new actual content
Definitely works the explosion dmg doesn't seem to hurt your ship on the galleon if its on the very tip but it does on the sloop since the tip isnt as long
I have a few tactic ideas I would like to share they're not the best but they're just some ideas.
1. Depth charge tactic: if an enemy ship is close behind you and you have gunpowder barrels drop some off the back end of your boat. I know these tactics are not the best, but it's what I could think of. If you have any other ideas feel free to respond.
Kaelan Ross snake basket.... that is bloody magnificent. I shall employ this tactic.
Kaelan Ross you could also try hiding a chest of sorrow on a enemy ship(preferably the crow's nest) before shooting at the ship
Kaelan Ross late reply but that Snake Guardian thing seems like a pro tactic or something, I will definitely use it
never thought of the snakes very good strategy
Great!!

Ur docked but ur still on the waves.
hey also tip regarding gun powder barrels, don't bother climbing on there boat and planting them its far easier to either swim under their boat and release them they will float up and put 5 holes in their hull or if a ship is chasing you throw them off the back of your boat if you can running into them will blow them up!
And put the non used explosives in the crows nest... I mean this from experience... LOTS of bad experiences...
can u swim away from the blast radius?
a fun thing is to go on their ship with a gunpowder barrel and walk right in front of them and see what they do
For me I always learn stuff from experience, it makes it more fun for me to learn after each battle, yet I still watch these videos.
I learned quite a bit here! And I really appreciate the sea shanty playing in the back ground, great video!!
for the past 4 days, we've met only 1 guy who didnt spend the entire fight to run away until sunk (a solo guy on a sloop drove into the middle of a fight) :P
Hats off to you sir, I've been sunk by Ulggy before..
Fought him for 15 minutes only time we met I said fuck it and charged him. Boarded after a solid ram and killed him with one swing.
@Jaxx Ahmir I like how y'all r both lol
@Lance Adan I like how y'all r both lol
No shout out for being the best repair man in the business!
Great video. Keep up the great work.
next video: "John Lankford: Not the repair man you deserve, but the one you need"
Can't we just be friendly and team up instead of shooting each other for 3 hours at a raid island?
the respawning in this game is a bit frustrating. i know they want to give people a chance, but fending off the same ship every 5 minutes is not fun. spawns are way too close

TheAcidpoet the sloops won’t know what hit them you’ll be sword lunging all over the 7 seas!
I have a tip for solo sloop players, if you have loot and are being chased you have a few options. Try to shake them off using islands to hide behind/in or 180 and sail back out, the ol' Ali oop. TheWillWay on a sloop said into the wind if it’s a galleon chasing you, you go ten times faster due to the lower amount of sails.
Or you could grow a pair and sink their ship instead of being such a pussy...

Been binge watching a BUNCH of Sea of Thieves videos and just came across yours. Great content, you just earned a sub! 👍
I like this! You give tips that I see no one else give, everyone else shows just the same tips in all videos, but you don't. You got my thumbs up!
Wow I just found your channel and have been watching a few videos. These are all great! Thanks for these!

By far your sea of thieves tips are the best

Great video but it’s hard to watch when your sensitivity is slower than a sloth
These OG tips are still great
A tactic I have is Not so good but worked for me
When Your being chased by another ship try turn right or left then Drop the anchor
Make sure you have Some of your crew on repair and Shooting this allows you to quickly turn around Without notice and Fire

Are these tactics generalized around the galleon?
Loved the vid dude

You shouldn't anchor in battle, If the other ship isn't anchored they can Just turn to the right angle and lower the back Sail to slowly get to the back of your ship and start bombarding you, while they do that you'll be vulnerable trying to raise the anchor and having to deal with their boarding party that is gonna stop you from raising your anchor.

Yeah you could get into a sticky situation, we always try to get that jump tho. If we start the shooting, and we board their ship first, they never have a chance to turn that ship and get in position in the first place
Erik van der Velden my friend anchored once then tried tp board by cannon fire qnd misded horribly. We had a sloop them a galleon. Yea we died
I can see your habit from other shooters to press X to reload your blunderbuds. You keep grabbing things when you’re in combat. Just a funny thing I noticed.

I thought of the same things myself, especially the ladder trick.
Well now with the new update if you stay underwater for to long and then surface you gasp for air which really gives away that you are close.
You're actually amazing and I think you should play more pub g
Also maybe post more often
Keep it up man and please don't have another 5 month gap between videos
I won’t :) I actually played a ton of pubg early on before it got huge and the cheaters and lack of support from the devs turned me off. Plus it’s more difficult to make vids aside from montage style videos. More to come here!
Always use a barrel. If you can get someone inside to boom it it makes 6 as opposed to 3 from outside
Not true.
Running over a barrel creates 5-6.
Zhadow45 not in a galleon. I've only ever taken about 3 or 4 each time
It's always 4 holes no matter where the explosion takes place. Even if the explosion barely hits the ship it will still create 4 holes.
ua-cam.com/video/3HjcfmhuWGE/v-deo.html
Barrels don't count as a kill so they spawn close! At least cannon them once!
I like cargo boats and paddle ships
Now, if you're being attacked, make sure the pirates do nothing he said, because now all your enemies also know your tactics, if you use these tactics.
How about taking gunpowder onto the enemy ship and then shoot it in the lowest part so water can come in?
Which weapon is best for on board battles? Blunder or pistol?
How do you drop barrels in water wothout detonating them? Me and friend on xbox yrued bordibg with barrels and pressed b for funsies while on the water and we both died cause they blew up
Wow 10/10 balanced gameplay, if people don’t have friends or don’t want to take their luck with a one in a million shot at a good crew with randoes on a galley your pretty much dead the moment a ship tags you

I like that you play on controller cause otherwise I get sad for not having a pc :)
Quality content here!
The best thing to do is to get gimmick cannonballs so you canshoot it at the enemies
Weird seeing this post-blunderbuss nerf.
would love to see a share barrel on the ship where we can help each other with items and cash !! not able to be stolen by enemy players though thanks !!
great video, but your sensitivity is remarkably low, you like it like that or somethin?
Yeah it is, and yeah I’ve played that way in almost every game. Just more control
ah, i see, no hate or nothin, i was just wondering, having my sensitivity higher and all lmao
Great tips!
Wow no fights as solo ive been in a fight as a solo its all changed now to ive sunk a couple of crews as one man and repaird all i want to know id how high you should have your sailwhen you next to an enemy
I like to pull sails up and jack the wheel either all the way left/right. ~Death Blossom~
I liked this one but maybe try to find some for the sloop people
Thanks for tips
Don't always be aggressive. Sometimes you can be nice to people not just attack them
Sloops wouldn't have a problem if they had an extra cannon

I love this game

The worst types of players are the ones who come into an outpost with a haul, and youre friendly and let them all cash out, then they sink you for fun while leaving port. -.-
That is annoying. Esp when your ship looks sweet with all the patched holes and it goes down out of battle
cry about it
seedee You must be fun at parties
Friends and I in a galleon rammed a sloop who made a fatal mistake so hard in the side that it they sunk in like 5 seconds
Whats that intro song called
We need a new guide video!
Holy crudulents you still look at old vid comments
Lol sometimes. And you are def right.
Nice video

I feel like focusing on cannon techniques would be more helpful
1:46 lmao that console peasant aim lol
This will improve my friends
What’s the intro song
step 1: get a gunpowder barrel
done
this is historical document
Really like the vids wanna collab or just play sometime
I sunk my first skeleton sloop with a gunpowder barrel😃👍
ur watermark says scale test in beginning
It’s not a boat it’s a ship treat her nice and respectfully
im a pc player. i think its nice that they did so the xbox players can play with only xbox players :) i could imagine it would be hard for them til play against us xD
Especially with all the damn hackers. Getting slashed through walls somehow or getting one shotted by an aimbot isn't exactly fun.
The good way is to wait until he take of the islend, then attake.
is he pvping wih a blunderbus
Very well may be. Just a guy living his best life
cool I like it ,,,,,,,,
Love this video, but seriously, encouraging people to attack ships anchored at islands? I cannot state how much I disagree
old news with the harpoon gun coming out in the next update lol and cooking and boats take even more damage per shot its insane but of course no new actual content
Dat slam ram... bruh
Just got into the game I know I’m a bit late to the party
Bro you gotta turn your sensitivity up
I can’t fight a skeleton sloop
If u ram put gun powder up front it will kill a majority from the players on top and sink it faster but a little damage will be done to ur ship
An interesting concept, I will def test it out and see what happens. Thanks!
Definitely works the explosion dmg doesn't seem to hurt your ship on the galleon if its on the very tip but it does on the sloop since the tip isnt as long
So is your name fryster or six3
Fryster now, sir
@@Phack oh, cuz you changed your name after making the vid, my bad, i did the same thing on my first vids
