damn this video is a saver! i was about to buy the $450 grille but the 2022+ TRD Pro grille are much cheaper for some reason and its better bec it has that camera slot in it too!! good stuff!!

Gonna be doing this with some raptor lights to my TRD OR soon, since the camera is sitting more up than usual on the grille, did you have to make any adjustments in the infotainment system to get everything to line up? Or is it just good to go as soon as you get it in?
I followed this pattern with my 22 trd off road with front camera with exception of using grille PT228-35200-AA instead. I wanted the silver letters. I haven’t had any issues for about 500 miles of using adaptive cruise in highway/freeway environments, about 20 miles of cruise in a rainstorm, no faults of any kind so far
I was super paranoid when i first installed it, just waiting for a code to pop up😂. But 1000 miles so far and no issues either!
Do you know if the PT228-35200-AA grill will fit on a 23?

Great video. Definitely helped my install process for the pro grille. I was wondering if you see any differences with how the image is depicted on the 360 degree view for the front camera. It seems to be a little misaligned with the side cameras of the 360 degree view. I assume its due to the position change of the front camera on the grille.

Is the middle TOYOTA section able to be removed and swapped out on the OEM grille, or is it all one piece? I really want an OEM grille with the factory camera mount but I don't want the black lettering and I don't really like the look of the overlay decals.
No its not removable. Some of the aftermarket grilles have removable letters but then it just looks like something is missing in the middle

Does not having a lift affect the camera placement or sensor since the camera and sensor are in different positions but the height of the truck doesnt change without lift?

Do you by chance have the part number? All the Pro grills I’m seeing don’t have the camera insert. I picked up a 23 OR a month ago.
The one in the description is the same one used in the video.
My bad.. Didn’t check the description. And I didn’t even realize yours is the blacked out grill from the TRD lift kit. I’ve been trying to order that exact grill. So far various dealerships have refunded me 3 times because I don’t have a Pro Vin. I haven’t tried the dealer you linked to yet. Did you have to give them a Vin? Starting to get pretty frustrated at how hard they’re making it just to get a grill. Thx!

But my truck is a 2023 Tacoma Off road. In your video you say your truck is a 2023 also. So will the part you linked to work?

Did you have to provide a TRD Pro VIN number in your order? Ordered from the same place and they are asking for it before shipping
I definitely did NOT go on a local dealerships website and copy a Pro VIN from their inventory……🙄

yes the wescott bracket screws it in place

Goin ok with no faults, cruise work ok etc? I gotta believe the tss sensor has to be close but not exact, I mean any unmodified truck could have shock wear, a heavy load in the back of the truck changing the truck angle, low air pressure in a tire, anything like that would affect that sensor angle so this should have some forgiveness it seems
Ive seen a few people have the “collision alert” pop up warnings. But i think the angle has to be pretty far off for it to do that. The Type of garnish has something to do with it as well. Some of the amazon ones ive seen block the sensor a little too much

How did you get all black lettering? I called and inquired about the grille, they said it has silver-ish lettering.
Mine has a slight bronze-ish tint on the letters. The color grade on the video probably throws it off a little bit

Is there any problem with the TSS sensor being relocated to a different position. Does it affect the way the system performs or give any kind of false readings?
Haven’t hat any problems yet. And the collision braking has done its job a few times for me with the grille on

This is exactly the info I was looking for, another question, did you have to do any fiddling with the camera settings when moving the camera to a new spot? Does it affect the 360 camera? Any things I should keep in mind with all that in regard?
Did anyone have trouble ordering the grille? The website says at the top that TRD PRO parts need a TRD PRO VIN.
Just get a vin from a Tacoma pro off of car gurus. That’s how I got my grille
Ordered mine just fine tbh, I did have to submit my VIN but I did my own and it’s a TRD OR, I guess it’s just depending if you order from a dealer that’s chill or not

You forgot to screw the camera on the new bracket.
No need to put the tiny screws back in. The way the slots slide in the bracket theres zero play and no reason to use the screws again. But you definitely can if you prefer
