    A friend of mine, a Jesuit priest who spent 44 years of his life in Japan as a missionary (the first from the Philippines!), just passed away yesterday at the age of 87. He was one of the sweetest human beings I've had the pleasure of meeting. How appropriate this bittersweet farewell song is now that Father Rudy's in eternal rest.

    • @alvarezkentalfe521
      @alvarezkentalfe521 4 роки тому +1

      @ChaiwatThATprotonmailDOTcom Fallacy: generalization, you tried to include F. Javier (and possibly other Filipinos) in your narrative, in this sentence "why people like you cant leave Japan alone with it's culture and religion? it's some kind of mind disease - an urge to impose your religion to everyone around."
      Yes, Jesuits might have that urge, but to say that F. Javier and/or the mentioned "people like [F. Javier]", also have that urge is wrong unless you prove it.

    • @alvarezkentalfe521
      @alvarezkentalfe521 4 роки тому

      @ChaiwatThATprotonmailDOTcom This just proves that there is indeed good reason why you question Catholicism. However, other than that, this does not prove anything, including why you included F. Javier and people like him when the comment should be aimed towards the Jesuit in question.

    • @alvarezkentalfe521
      @alvarezkentalfe521 4 роки тому

    This is such a heartrendingly sad song, and so beautiful. paf1953, the English translation is: Goodbye, goodbye, I'm glad we met. Goodbye, goodbye, it was very fun. Goodbye, goodbye, I am also exhausted (I think). Goodbye, goodbye, always always take care. Goodbye, goodbye, never never forget me. Goodbye, goodbye, always take care. (I can't tell what the last word is.)

    This might have charted in the U.S. as well as "Sukiyaki", but probably wasn't even released as a single. The record company likely thought that a second song in Japanese wouldn't sell, because the novelty would have worn off, and while the melody is good, it's not remotely as catchy as "Sukiyaki", which is a tune that once you hear it, stays with you always.

    There are times, when separations cannot be avoided, and then we must say goodbye to either a good and old friend or a sweetheart. The song is nice and sung with feeling.

    Brasil e Japão sempre tiveram um grande elo de irmandade,amizade tendo muito Amor um pelo outro.
    Sendo o Brasil tem uma das maiores descendências de Japoneses fora do Japão.
    Principalmente nos Estados de São paulo, Paraná e outros estados. ..
    Kyu Sakamoto foi um dos maiores interpretes canção Japonesa de todos tempos.
    quando veio ao Brasil muito em respeito aos descendentes Japoneses que clamavam sua visita ao Brasil,
    pra esta apresentação Cantor vestido traje tipico Japonês ele era muito famoso no japão e fora também.
    Pena este grande cantor Japonês, nos deixou muito cedo num terrível acidente de avião no japão em 1985.😢🙏🌹
