  • Mount Pleasant Village, located near Nan greaves in Bury, is a fascinating example of a purpose-built factory village. It was designated as a conservation area in 19741. Originally developed to support a mill that produced warp and weft for home-based weaving, the village has evolved over time.
Today, Mount Pleasant features a mix of old and new terraced properties and apartments. The original mill site has been converted into residential properties since the 1980s1. The village green, which corresponds to the area originally occupied by the factory lodge, serves as a key focal point for the community1. Additionally, the Lord Raglan public house is a popular leisure spot and community meeting place.
