Hope I'm not jinxing the mission by asking this question. But hypothetically, if something goes wrong with the launch & the JWST is lost or irreparably damaged...would another one be built? And would it take another 20 years to get that one into space??#ASKNASA
JWST will be so far away that you won’t be able to see it with the naked eye. You could see it with a telescope though. We had an astronomer friend do a guest blog for NASA Blueshift on how he imagined Herschel, which was also at the second Lagrange point: asd.gsfc.nasa.gov/blueshift/index.php/2013/07/01/finding-herschel/

We will know Planet 9 after they lauch the James Webb Telescope
