@JakobWheler great question - my advice would be have a go! Most of what I know, I learned from doing these challenges. The world championship stuff costs, so I understand why people are put off. But there are loads of free Excel challenges, too: - Search for the profile "Excel BI" on LinkedIn. They share free daily challenges and the comments are full of other people's solutions - Diarmuid Early (@DimEarly) makes great videos, but in particular this video makes the old model off competitions available ua-cam.com/video/TKEkLXUmx8M/v-deo.html - David Brown gave a great session to the London Excel Meetup which includes a Excel World Championship style challenge for free ua-cam.com/users/liveK20VKNQgeLA - Follow and connect with people on LinkedIn (mine is linked in my profile), and look for any Excel knowledge/meetup groups in your area (like the London one). The Excel community is one of the best parts of this competition. People are always happy to share and learn. I hope this gives you some good starting points. Looking forward to seeing your name on the leaderboard in the future. Good luck, and have fun!
One of the most useful things about these challenges is that you know the data will get you the correct answer, and you can see if your answers are right or wrong. Dig in and get exploring!
Can you buy ticket to be a spectator for the final? I can’t find any info online, does the active cell camp come with the opportunity to just watch the final?
Hi Melody - the active cell tickets do come with a seat to watch the finals, but you can also buy a ticket to just watch the finals (if you aren't going to the conference). I'll pop a link here which should have all the options: fmworldcup.com/product-category/training-camp/ EDIT: I can see the confusion with the active cell descriptions. Looking on the main website it does say "watch the finals", though theactivecell.com/
Wow seems great!
Waiting to see your name in the results...!
Do you have any advice for people new to Excel wanting to get into this?

Do you have to pay for your own ticket if you get to LV?
This year, yes! But the prize fund has gone up and anyone who makes it to the Vegas round automatically gets a share
Andrew 👎 Elliott 👍
Hope there's more Elliott's this year!
Too late, already changing my name
