@@tomh1727 The 666% figure is not mathematically correct in this context. Calculating a fraction of something doesn't mean a direct percentage miss. You most likely calculated it as 100/15 = 6.66666... which rounds to 6.7. 6.66 X100 = 666, which you then interpreted as a 666% miss. This calculation compares the target to the achievement, rather than measuring how far the achievement fell short of the target. You are confusing ratios and percentages: The 6.67 figure (or 6.66 in your case) represents a ratio, not a percentage difference. It tells us the target is 6.67 times the achievement, but this isn't the same as the percentage by which they missed the target. Just keep it simple and call it an 85% miss, which is the 85% percentage point difference, as I explained in a) above.

There is some nuance in the CCP's direction to BEV makers about sending their IP over to other countries. They are focused on India, who they have serious conflicts with, and Turkey, who I am not sure what their relations are like but the country is run by an autocrat. It's not clear that this would be the case in the USMCA zone, as "knock-down" kits wouldn't get IRA incentives. Maybe they don't care, as long as they can sell their cars without tariffs.
The CCP is smart. They want to force other automakers to make their cars in China so they can compete with China's own brands. By telling their automakers not to take their tech out of country the CCP will force the OEMs to come to China. They will do this by continuing to subsidize their internal automakers to export cars to the EU and other countries at such a low cost that the OEMs cannot compete without moving their production to China. The real key to China staying on top however is their internal supply chains. These take years to build... years the OEMs don't have before they collapse trying to compete with Chinese made cars. The CCP intends to use humanoid robotic labor in their car factories as soon as they can to further reduce costs to where they can still be competitive given the EU tarrifs being as low as they are. The only solution to keep the OEMs alive a little longer is to do what the US did and allocate huge tariffs on imported Chinese cars. However the US OEMs are not taking this as an opportunity to develop their own internal supply chains excluding those controlled by China. They are wasting the time given them for profits right now rather than later. Therefore the US OEMs, their union workers, and tier supply companies are now assured of death as BEV manufacturers like Tesla have the tech already as well as having developed their own supply chains and internal manufacturing eliminating most of the tier supplier needs. Tesla is even making its own batteries more and more in the US and may soon not need to import them from China to the US. EU car makers might survive as a brand but will become Chinese based as to their manufacturing. EU union workers are also F'd in soooo many ways. Firstly they are F'd if robotic labor is brought in by the OEMs to try and lower more costs temporarily.... assuming they just don't give up and move all operations to China..... which will completely decimate the EU auto union workers, local tier suppliers, etc etc. Let's face it folks, the only OEMs with any chance of surviving this are the US OEMs but they are busily blowing the opportunity.
Jim Chanos was right back then IF by "electric car" you meant one that has just swapped out the ICE for a battery and motors... all else being equal. If that had been all there was to it, and all the public wanted, then the OEMs would have surpassed Tesla. However Teslas are almost (except for sheer mechanical parts) completely controlled by software which can be updated and improved remotely. It was this SW defined experience that Tesla delivered that became the benchmark for what a BEV is. Nothing less would measure up. So the issue with Jim's prediction is that he didn't understand the tech. He thought that a BEV was just a swapping of drive trains. My guess is that Jim also didn't understand how Apple could ever overtake Nokia.

Around 16:00 - China may have learned that “assembly” might be good enough in other countries.
Don't forget that EV's get easy a parking place in China's big cities. That helps of course selling EV's.
@4:00 Chanos lost 75% of his Fund shorting Tesla and had to close it
Big Teslap 👋🏽 for Lucid ! See you at the TESLA Superchargers… 👉🏽🔋⚡️😄
What? Lars, did you print that?
There is some nuance in the CCP's direction to BEV makers about sending their IP over to other countries. They are focused on India, who they have serious conflicts with, and Turkey, who I am not sure what their relations are like but the country is run by an autocrat. It's not clear that this would be the case in the USMCA zone, as "knock-down" kits wouldn't get IRA incentives. Maybe they don't care, as long as they can sell their cars without tariffs.
I wonder if Zipse's wife's maiden name is Toyoda? ;^)
Poor Chanos, he is a genius of nonsense, no wonder he went belly up.
When you have no successes to highlight, blind them with partnerships potential. Mary B continues to lead.
29:35 Why is the Lucid NACS port so ugly and obvious? Can't they do any styling and make it blend into the design?! Horrible build quality.
Elon is right, innovation is the critical point, but that take a lot of work.
You don't need to produce cars, or innovate, build quality, or even something people want. You just have to ADVERTISE! That is what I was told.
@@davidbeppler3032 Here is the critical point, there are many ways to advertise that best aid growth. Elon is hated because he refuses to play ball and not shake the boat. Elon--"Who's cheese is this?" "Garbage!" Tesla normally doesn't invent, they innovate, they make improvements.
@@chilzone966 My comment was sarcasm.
Barra/GM takes full advantage of too big to fail. Thanks for nothing for US tax dollars. Jeannine
In this video, there are a number of black screens that go on for many seconds. For example, 25:15 and 29:45. Might want to fire your video editor. 😉
What dropped faster- Twitter stock, or the Boring Co? 😂
EV Lars ✔️🖖🌎 Way back when Elon (futurist genius)said want to be a leader in manufacturing and business and it's coming true ! Amazing 👍
Sorry to burst your bubble, but I and many of my friends who initially supported Tesla because of their environmental mission are very distressed to see Elon supporting racist, antisemitic, anti trans and sexist apologists on X. I used to regard Elon with a great deal of respect, but now I see him as a smart engineer who unfortunately has totally lost his mind.

One thing that will once and for all end the talk about "The Big Guys Are Coming" is the advent of the European's most wanted: the Model 4.
Is this why Elon Musk has refused to call the upcoming tiny Tesla Model 2 that so many guess?
Is he saving it for the 4 needed to complete the series?
Model C (Cybertruck)
Model 4 (€15k model 3)
Model R (Roadster)

Love the videos but you are repeating the same stuff week after week, it’s getting too much
28:00 - 🎵 🎹 one of these things is not like the other, two of these things aren’t kind of the same. 🎶 can YOU pick the one that is NOT Rocket Science?
FAA slow?
According to the FAA themselves (!), SpaceX could have launched test flight 5 previous week IF SpaceX had nod changed their flight plan. Initially Elon said himself that flight 4&5 would be to solve reentrencd issues, and catching would be done on flight 6.
By changing the objectives, Elon caused the delay completely himself.
TSLA is flat.
I’m probably uninformed here, but who is this May guy? Apparently I’m supposed to know him.
28:47 yeah 40K$ version (DeLorean/Lamborghini baby truck)🎉😅
Hey Larrs, just to let you know, some of the seens in this video are total black. Just a guess, but i think that might have been an accident. Big fan.
I think we should have a running count of how much money Mr. Chanos has lost as a crawl along the bottom of your screen. It would be epic!
SOLUTION : LEAVE GOLD, ENTER ENERGY....
Don't fight the system ( Render it Obsolete🤔) .
- GENERATE Our Own Energy.
- STORE Our Own Energy.
- CREATE Our Own Energy Currencies.
- SOLVE Our Own National Debts.
FARM ENERGY, ftw....
Chanos… what a joke, how out of touch could you be? - what a failure … imagine losing all your money with this terrible, so called fund manager.
AI is not the type of thing you should talk about. Keep it quiet.
Jim Chanos is so shortsighted- he just doesn’t understand tech.
Help!
Dear Lars community, ı will be in Austin next week for the Connected Mobility Convention.
I'd like to expose where Tesla is at with latest FSD so they can witness that future is now ;)
Any chance you know of a Uber or Tesla owner that could give 4 people a quick ride?
Thanks and stay nice ;)

Dear Lars, it's to early in the game, to tell, but Elon ( who l,v met on many accusations, sometimes very good sometimes l stuffed my old sock down his throat) has a long plan, l know as we have talked about it, when I worked as a model maker at a pattern shop in Mammendorf ( Habic and miller ) back in 2000. And in 2022 in Amsterdam.l am retired and I work on my Fine Art as Sculptor.l wish l could tell you what he said, just remember Deutschland is his laboratory.latter Lars 😊
