I didn't go to Adventureland in 2024 but I'm glad to hear they were calling for solo riders when you were there. I've been there a few times where probably 60% of trains had 1-3 open seats and that's really frustrating when that translates to some 20% lower throughput on a coaster with this one's capacity. When I've been to the park alone (marathoning Monster for 80% of the visit) the grouper usually caught on after a couple rides and would flag me down from wayyyy down the line to come up as a single rider. If they could implement a real single-rider line that would be ideal, or they could just use the speedy pass line for that when the crowds allow for it.
I wish it had an official single rider line. To my knowledge, there isn't a single Palace park that has ever had one. So it's definitely crew dependent.
Love the review! From the midwest but don't travel too far for coasters usually. This one's definitely on my list! Love to it's starting to get the recognition it deserves
Monster is a great coaster love the train design! Not much air time but good hangtime I do like the monster more then Hang Time at knots' berry farm. There are some dead spots like the airtime hill that doesn't give any air time but the drop has good ejector air time. The finished loop is amazing to!
I love wacky hangtime too. I also agree with how you view pacing. It's no surprise that I'm also a huge fan of Monster, and have been since my first rides in 2019. I also love Matugani more than most people do, but Monster is still my favorite in Iowa. RMC raptors aren't really my thing, so I know my top 2 will remain the same next year.
Monster is genuinely one of the most unique rides out there. Of all my new credits this year, including legendary rides like X2 and Ghostrider, Monster exceeded my expectations the most. I had high expectations, and it blew them away!
Having ridden every seat plenty of times on this, my favorite is the front far right seat - the lateral forces going into the weird top hat dive thing are a bit stronger in front, and the freedom hanging out the right side on that cutback after the World's Best Trim Brake is better than anywhere else on the train. Far left side has a very different experience going into the finnish loop compared to far right, considering you hardly move laterally at all on the dive loop if you're on the right side of the train, but I'd say the far right side is the better seat for forces for any other element where it might differ slightly and for that dive loop it's still fun turning your torso into the dive and letting the train turn your legs a second later
As much as the trim helps the ride, it always feels like the train could valley in the stall turn or corkscrew. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s already happened before
Adventureland is my home park. Monster is by far the best coaster in the state. I would say Marugani at Lost Island is second in the state. Right now. Adventureland is a fun little park.
The trim on monster adjusts throughout the day depending on speed. I’ve had rides with no trims that basically have insane forces on the last two elements
Trim brakes get a bad rap but some can be good as you described. Maybe a topic for a future video? I think they're great if they improve an element or are well placed and allow an extra train to run etc.
After riding Hang Time at Knott’s Berry last week, my immediate thought is that this is an upgraded version of that ride. Hang Time is fantastic in its own regard, but it’s over a bit too quickly I’m not gonna say this is worth going to Iowa for on its own, but it’s not like all the corn was ever gonna entice me to go there either
@MarsJenkar gurnee six flags and Indiana beach... 2022 we did a tour of adventureland, kings island, Indiana beach and lost island. Great parks great coasters!
Valleyfair needs a model like this. We love this and also dragon slayer.
Both would fit nicely there.

The light package looks unbelievable. Kcl knows exactly how to bring it. Would love a ride on this, let alone a night ride.
Their lights are amazing.

Thanks!

The start and end are amazing.

I suspect Fire Runner will become my 2nd favorite in the state.
This ride is still in my top ten
It's an excellent ride.

Good points. And the nice thing about being pulled as a single rider is that you usually get the right.
All hail the trim brake
Best trim ever
Ride is amazing
Yes it is.
As much as the trim helps the ride, it always feels like the train could valley in the stall turn or corkscrew. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s already happened before
It's entirely possible, especially if an all-timed gust of wind occurred.
I’ve gone to Adventureland many times (I’m an Iowa native), and I STILL have not yet ridden the Monster!
It's their best ride by far.

I would agree with that.
"favorite trim brake" is not something i expected to hear today
This trim is legitimately great.
The trim on monster adjusts throughout the day depending on speed. I’ve had rides with no trims that basically have insane forces on the last two elements
If the trim doesn't hit, what does that sideways hill feel like?
@ A mix of laterals and airtime. It’s insane
More parks need to adopt the single rider lines. They are very beneficial to capacity. Especially on the generally lower capacity rides.
I wish more parks had them.
"I'm friends with the monster that's under my bed
Get along with the voices inside of my head."
Can you post some more lyrics. I still don’t know what song this is referring to
@@marcusmcgraw3519He’s talking about the song monster by Eminem and Rihanna
@@Ckplaysgamez no way, tell me more?
If only they played that at the ride.

They aren't all bad, but usually they don't help the forces. This one is a rare one that makes the forced better.
Really random but what do you use to film Rollercoaster POVs?
GoPro with a wrist or chest harness
Always thought that this is lift hill version of Junker! Definitely some similarities
I agree.

I can see it fitting into a trip across part of the Midwest, which could also include Valleyfair, Lost Island, and Arnold's Park.

2022 we did a tour of adventureland, kings island, Indiana beach and lost island. Great parks great coasters!
This is far superior to Hangtime in my opinion.
Would it be worth going to Adventureland if monster was the single and only ride at the park?
I would say so. It's an amazing ride.
I wonder why they didn't go for the two car train option. Currently, it just looks like a Eurofighter with lapbars.
It's a bummer it didn't hold more riders to improve capacity, but I love how it rides.
Best coaster in the world for hangtime?
One of the best.
