Amazing remix. I love the instrument choices and the fact that you kept the complexity of the layers. The only thing is that maybe the drums could be louder to accentuate the intensity of the song overall, and specially in the last movement. Otherwise, excellent adaptation.
I really enjoy the way this turned out - it made me smile. Great job! :) The original track is really driving and you nailed the energy. Plus, it’s fun to hear the similarities between the early riffs in this in the 80s and “At Doom’s Gate” from Doom E1M1 in the 90s. If you ever make any refinements, there are a just a handful of places where the new solo comes in and things get a little muddy (like around 1:07).
Thanks for the comment! I do plan on making more Thunder Force IV style remixes, so maybe I'll come back to this. And I agree, I enjoy listening to riffs that sound like at Doom's Gate too! It's interesting how this one predates it, tho they probably looked at the same sources for inspiration
It sounds like you're using the electric guitar sound from Lightning Strikes Again (Title Theme). There are actually 2 FM patches that make up that guitar sound. The one you use is for the higher frequency side. They use the other patch to put emphasis on the strumming dynamics in order to complement the instrument tone you're using. I recommend using MD Player to examine the tracks from the game that use this instrument. The title theme uses two instances of both guitar instruments (this uses 4 channels) since it just a rhythm guitar riff. The final boss theme War Like Requiem makes use of two instances of the patch you used and one instance of the other patch in order to make room for the synth melody. Im a bit of an FM geek and I studied Thunder Force 4's sound banks the most out of any genesis game. Fun Fact: The snare drums use pitch slides because the composer was using the Roland SC-55 to make an extra track for the TF4 arrangement album released back then and wanted the percussion to sound similar. Good remix though regardless!
@@DiRekt.EXE_Music Ooo, I didn't know that, and thanks! EDIT: UA-cam didn't show me the full comment, very interesting to know the behind the scenes of such an iconic soundtrack, is there a way to listen to this arrangement album?

Hey. Where's x3 Mega 10 remixes and your gravity beetle remix? It's been 2 months.
I want to do other stuff as well, and I can't always stay on UA-cam, but I will get to them eventually
Maybe ask properly? Don't be a dick. Christ
