I remember as a kid (a very long time ago). There was a commercial with an owl for tootsie pops. He asked how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop. You could send in your guess. They would send a fun letter back about your guess and thanks for trying. I do remember the Star part. My girls talk about that. Those ghosts are so cute. I may do that this year for our pumpkin carving get together.
You are correct about the star. There was an archer shooting at the star and tou could send them in for prizes.
My favorite Halloween candy is black jacks. It is licorice flavored taffy that is comes in black, white, and light pink wrappers. Just to die for :)

I remember the star!
In fact, the shooting star appears on 1 in every 4 to 6 Tootsie Pop wrappers, just as frequent as the other images appear. However, we do believe the star is a sign of good luck to come. Mr. Owl informed us that one night he was sitting on his branch and he came across a shooting star in the sky. :)

Where I lived, if you got a star on a wrapper you could take it back to the store for a free Tootsie Pop
We always said if you found an Indian shooting a star on the wrapper you should fold it up and put it in your shoe for good luck.
Love all these great ideas - as a recently retired teacher I think I will make the lollipops for this year's trick-or-treaters - I miss the energy of being with kids each day, so I am happy to do something for the kids who come to the house. I know we used to save DumDum wrappers for prizes. Never knew about the Tootsie Pops though.

I was unaware of the occasional star on the Tootsie Pop wrapper but after I googled it, they refer to it as the origin of the shooting star. For generations, it has been rumored that local convenience stores used to give a free Tootsie Pop to anyone who brought in a wrapper containing the image of the shooting star. No one knows where it started, and Tootsie Roll Industries has never honored this promotion. It is a fact that the shooting star appears on 1 in every 4 to 6 Tootsie Pop wrappers and is believed to be a sign of good luck to come. Very interesting.

Peanut butter kisses in the orange and black wrappers are my favorites.
My husband remembers the star being on the wrapper of the Tootsie Pops. I watched Hocus Pocus 2 and was a little disappointed. The first one was so much better. Hopefully, I’ll be able find the four Halloweentown movies to watch this year.

Bethadilly the best way to store Mod Podge is when you have finished make sure the lid is on tight then store it upside down so when you come to use it the film will be on the bottom and i love your Halloween so i got some ghost designs to make. happy Halloween

I don't believe I did any resizing, they were sized correctly upon import. But be sure to just cut one first to double check. :)

Yes! And circa 1992ish we could bring a wrapper back to the store for a free tootsie pop if the whole image could be seen; the native American man with bow and arrow with a star. My siblings and I did the exchange at least once each. Still look for them to this day but not sure they still print them.

@@Bethadilly long ago, the stars on the Tootsie Roll pop wrappers received a free sucker when they were brought back into the store. At one time you could save them for free merchandise. Now I don't think they mean anything. 😞

Really adorable, pretty & I will also say classy Halloween decor! Haven’t seen Halloweentown - looked it up briefly, it sems there are a few - can you share which one? So love the svg you used on the onesie (well all of them truly). Favourite Halloween candy: definitely mini chocolate bars, but it was always fun to get the little 2 piece “Chicklets” gum which I think I liked more for the tiny box than the gum 😄! Not specific candy-wise but always super fun to find those little filled treat bags in our Halloween “haul” - fun to do for our neighborhood kids now as an adult.

Any chance you have a suggestion for an issue im having with shimmer glitter permanent vinyl??? It will not stick to my transfer tape. Burnished and burnished….. front and back side numerous times. Tried a different brand of transfer tape….Even tried a little heat gun… nothing. Ended up picking each letter off as a sticker and hand placing. I have a whole roll of this stuff. Thanks

Hi, Bethany. I grew up watching Halloween Town, so I love that one. Also the star on the lollipops, you were right about. Not sure what part of the states you are from, but I know here in Massachusetts that's what we were told, if you found a start and a Indian with a star you kept it for a prize. what is the grabber tool you use for small pieces. I don't see that listed.
