Very good review man!! I noticed in the photos of the guitar, that the height of the pickups is very high. Did you setup it like that? If you have not adjusted the height of your pickups, I advise you to do so. cheers

That bridge pickup makes the tone....
In most cases I've found myself not using them because of its harshness. .

Hey Jake. This is great demo. Thanks for such an in-depth look at all the tones. You're a great player, I can hear shades of Matt Schofield in there among many others. You should send this demo to Simon Law, I'm sure he'd love it. It's a great advertisement for his guitars.

I find listening to demos so subjective based on how well the guitar player plays. From that point of view nice guitar indeed. I just played a Cruz masterbuilt fender custom shop the other day. well made...except for the fretwork. Buzzing out a fullstep bend on the 15th fret is unacceptable for $4500 guitar (it was on sale). I'm thinking a SVL or a Suhr...have you tried one?
I absolutely agree about the reviews!! I would say go with an SVL. I have played a lot of master built strats as well as quite a few Suhrs. I have to agree with what i have read about Simon Law being one of the best builders! My Svl plays better and has nicer build quality than all the strats i have played. He really enjoys what he does and lets you do absolutely anything you would like to the guitar. He is a great guy. These strats are the real thing when it comes to remakes of the oldies that work right!
SVL - amazing. I have 59 reserve called BuddyBrownie - it'll be on Simon's Facebook about this time last year.
Do you get also knopfleresque ton out of the Bridge/ middle position, even with the stronger Bridge pickup?

I have a custom shop 63 with handwound josefina campos 62/63 pickups but man that bridge is so puny it’s awful,
I feel like trying these..

Is this model priced over 4500$??? Jesus Christ!!!! At least in 40 years you can resale a Fender. But an SVL? I don't know. Stratocaster is my favorite guitar but no strat Fender or SVL deserves this kind of money. No way!
Looks bad with the current exchange rate, but in the UK an SVL is cheaper than a team built Fender Custom Shop, and is way better than the custom shop I owned might I add.
A guitar is a musical instrument, meant to be played. Not an investment. If you want to invest your money, buy stock man. You're doing it wrong :)
