I watched the whole 6 hours for the first day of the dance and it was great! I didn’t know they did so much like capping the prices of insulin and allowing Medicare to negotiate for lower prices (I didn’t even know they couldn’t do that) but they also tried to pass a stronger border law (the republicans blocked it & didn’t came up with a better border plan but they tried!)

Here, in the US, if one were to read news oriented towards young readers, say middle-school age, one would get a very shiny surface understanding of the complexity of US politics. And for some reason, DW and other neighboring news reporters rarely get beyond this shallow understanding of things here in the US. For starters, the two guests are not known in the US for their piercing insight into the ebb and flow of the political currents here. Secondly, the repetition of stale tropes about elections totally ignore the current dynamics...that there is a "honeymoon" at play and that it is due to end shortly, after forty days already! Or that Democrats will shoot themselves in the foot, ignoring the sea change in the leadership as the older Watergate/Viet Nam era leadership have become less relevant. For the first time, the "Gen-X" coterie is now running things and making all of the major decisions. And they have totally missed how wretched Trump looks and sounds these days, rattling on about Hannibal Lecter and sharks, and openly complaining that Biden isn't running. The big news story is that Trump is sundowning and Harris looks and sounds presidential.
