Does it have a pressed steel swing arm like the MT07 ? The MT07 swing arm is prone to rust very quickly along the welds and also on the engine cooling pipes which disqualifies it from being an all weather U.K. commuting bike . Hopefully Yamaha have upped their quality . I love the CP2 engine and looks but I can’t ride a bike that looks terrible after a bit of rain. (Yes I use ACF50)
I'd argue that it isn't better than no screen. I had one today as a courtesy bike and felt like it was trying to rip my head off. All the wind is directed and your neck, at any height adjustment. I ride a Monster, with no screen at all, and the wind is much smoother to me. Maybe I'm too tall for the tracer 700
This bike's look reminds me of the old FZ6, a great looking bike. Of course, my favorite part of that bike's look was the rear-exit exhaust. If they could just bring that back, too.
Looks like a relatively small bike (unless the reviewer is really big) ... if you and your partner are on the small side I bet it would work just fine. 75hp would be plenty for light touring with two small adults and gear. However... your best bet would be to both go to the shop and take one out for a ride (you'll know very quick then). If you're taller or your partner is then it may be cramped.
@@kuhndj67 great points, I'm still swaying towards the 900GT just because by the time you have specced this up with luggage etc it's not a huge saving. 👍
Why is the US market always skipped on the really good bikes. Yeah we have the tracer 900 but that bike is overkill for a lot of people. I think this tracer 700 would sell better here then the tracer 900.
On one hand, I’m not a fan of Yamaha. On the other hand, relative to other offerings in this sector and based on every review, I’m wondering how other manufacturers can compete with this motorcycle.
Thanks,...............the video was perfect with more on board in my opinion, because with drone is not possible to see the bike suspenction reactions, power of an emergency brake, acceleracion and all details about what somebody possibly have after the purchase........... In case is possible, i would like 1 more video with all the details it was not possible to check in this (anyway good) video. Somethink titled like: tracer 700 on board pure sound....it will be GREAT Bye
This is a bad review with vague comments that mean very little. This is not a true review. It seems like observational comments from someone who really doesn't have a clue about it.
Thanks for the review and MUSIC IS TOO LOUD.
Really like the new styling!
So when is Yamaha going to bring this into the States?
Yeah this is BS, I want this bike!!!!
@@drewmorg. Tracer 900 is okay and all, but it's lost all the spice of the MT, got heavy, got (sadly) re-tuned.
@@exothermal.sprocket Not interested in the triple at all! I want CP2 spice!!!!!
So this is a direct competitor to the Versys 650?
now with the adjustable front fork, could this bike mean the end of the versys 650?
No
@@battsonbikes1919 You absolutely convinced me!
Only reason I'd buy a Versys 650: Put the Yamaha motor in it.
Is the GVW still low? The previous version does not have load capacity two average people and full luggage. Which is a shame.

I can't be the only American that wishes bikes like this and the VFR800X would come over here
BRING TO USA. Finally a cool utility bike.
Can’t even get it here in Japan....
@@gregorybreen7705 Now that is just depressing.

You show a ohlins rear suspension in the video and there is noo one in Yamaha's catalogue
I think this one has the sport package
Ive seen both öhlins rear shock and cartridge kit for the fork in the accessories catalogue on yamaha europes website.
Can it handle 2 up touring as well? I can never find any load capacity details.

Who forced you to do this review m8 😁? You look like you know your stuff but really hate doing reviews!
Still saving up for the tiger sport.. to bad
It's very pretty... but I think I would try the V-Strom 650 for a change.
this would be the perfect bike to upgrade to my current 2008 yamaha fz6.
Manufacturing has been delayed due to the pandemic -but a great looking bike

Yamaha PLEASE sell this in North America!!!
Release in Philippines please
Such a great bike such crap colours so depressing.
I wish there were more Yamaha dealers about, non near me.

I would paint the gas tank the blue wheel color. Dave Moss has some good videos about improving the FZ/MT-07 suspension for safety and comfort.
That front reminded me of Ultraman..
FZ6 Evolved
TJ Thompson Way less power though.
