Description:
The Mini RF1 is a mini wash light that features a built-in rechargeable battery, RF Remote Control, dimmer controls, strobe effect, sound activated mode, and color mixing.
There are 5 main reasons why you will love this light.
1. RF remote - Our RF remote technology allows you to control the color, mode, and other functions of the light from ranges of 50-100 feet. What is really cool is you can use one remote and control multiple lights. For example you might have 24 lights throughout a party room and you take this remote and hit blue and all the lights will react from one click!
2. Big battery life - The battery life on these lights are enough to last for around 3 gigs before you have to charge them.
3. RGBWA+UV - This is a huge upgrade to normal RGB lights. Regular RGB lights can combine red, green, and blue to create lots of colors. This light adds White, Amber, and Ultraviolet. Each of the LED’s on this light are RGBWA+UV. That means every LED can change any color allowing you to color mix and get the most vibrant and precise colors.
4. Light-weight and compact - This light is really portable. They are light-weight and compact and easy to set up or take from gig to gig.
5. Wireless DMX - This allows you to connect wirelessly to your DMX controller as well as wirelessly link multiple lights together into master/slave mode.

Great video!
Thank you!!! Great product!
Hi @DJMikeJames, nice video. I’m eyeing the 8 pack of these lights with the chargeable flight case and I was just checking out some video reviews of this product. I was wondering for the par’s built in Wi-Fi DMX feature, do you need to have the Rockville transmitter dongle to control the lights or can you use the Donners Dongles or Chauvet Wireless DMX Transmitter Dongles? I’m planning on controlling the lights wirelessly using my SoundSwitch Control One Device.
The lights themselves have wireless dmx antennas built into them, so depending on which version you end up getting the original version had the (7) 2.4ghz color groups and at that point set in a dmx color group you'd control them like any other fixture. The next generation fixtures, like my RF3's only have 4 dmx color groups, but way more remote functions for grouping, so as long as you have the dmx color group matched up any transmitter will control them...
I wanna see a beam comparison between these and other uplights. Unless those are mega boss….I feel like my rock wedges will put out more
Video should be going up today... you'll get a real good visual of how these perform compared to RockWedges! The best view will be towards the end of the video, since I combined to receptions into one gig log
can these illuminate in large rooms perfectly
They do alright... you can see me use them in my double wedding gig log... however, now Rockville has RF3's as well as RF RockWedges and "Both" lighting has RF4's... so lots of options since this video was shot
@@DJMikeJames Rockville just released RF4’s I’m curious if any of them will sync with best par 60’s and rockwedges. No one knows 🤷🏻♂️
More than likely NOT... I shot several videos covering this topic and if they do like with the 2nd generation rockwedges the Rf's are in control... which sucks... you should check out those videos
Did you get a special deal for 10 lights? All i see is the 4 pack for $249.
No, it's the 5 pack for $204 w/o the bag, through Audiosavings store on, they are saying they're out of stock atm... but that is what I bought... ok.. the link isn't working for some reason. Trying to figure it out
Ya, I saw that.. they must have pulled the deal that I had got
Mike have you ever tried the ape labs and how do these compare?
I have not... I'll definitely look into them...
How well did these do at a gig? Looking to order today 😁
@@DJMikeJames ok what's your FB name?
@@DJMikeJames thank you, great video. May i ask, why you’re selling them?
@@DJMikeJames Why do u wanna sell them? How is the brightness of them?
My original issue was with the wireless DMX not pairing up with other fixtures with the same tech, but now I changed my setup and am using them to uplight my totems and booth and the work great... RF remotes don't have to see the fixture, so I can change my totems without having to pull the scrims back. I'm just gonna hold on to them and use them like that while I purchase more RockWedges to uplight the room
@@DJMikeJames But all in all would they be good for uplighting the room?
How’s the battery life? How long do they last?
For the most part they last like 7 to 10 hours, which is long enough for most gigs
Can these be DMXs?
Yes they can... If using a dmx controller they have the 7 dmx 2.4mhz color groups and can be dmx'd internally, however watch my follow up video on comparing uplights and issues with dmx and the remotes. It'll be helpful to understand how to and their limitations.
Thanks for watching 👀 and commenting
Hey man, I just bought a pack of 4. I can't seem to control the lights with the remote while they are all synced. Only when I press the mode button they sync together. How did you do that?
If they're in wireless dmx mode (blue) the remotes won't work.. in remote mode the one before it (pink/blue) they should all respond to the remote... way more control in this mode
Also, on a side note, if you do have them in wireless dmx 3 of them will be in the solid blue mode and one has to be the master and ti do that you select the mode that you want on that one and hold the mode button in for like 2 seconds and then they'll all sink to that on... the master
@@DJMikeJames thank you very much! I didn’t realize all of them had to be on remote mode for it to work in sync.
Will these lights sync up with the wedge from Rockville and will the same remote work with the wedge as well? Do you have other uplights you can compare it to?
That's a good question.. I'm not sure, I do have access to some rock wedges, so let me look into it and I'll let you know. Thanks again
from what I've read, Yes they have wireless DMX
@@djnikko I've been in touch with Rockville and these will not sync up. They had their specialists working on it and they will not pair up...
@@DJMikeJames I suppose they should change their description and remove that information as it's misleading...
@@djnikko they do have wireless DMX and they do sync up with each other, just not other products.
Rockville and AudioSavings are the same company
I believe,, Audiosavings is a bicoastal warehouse who's a Rockville dealer, however I've also purchased Star Audio, Chauvet, Peavey and ADJ from them... Thanks for the comment and support
@@DJMikeJames negative sir, AudioSavings allowed them to also sell other brands. Both owned by the same people
How did they do for uplighting in a venue??????
Actually they do pretty good for what they are. I'm mainly using mine to uplight totems and my booth now
@@DJMikeJames I was afraid u would say that...... i bought 2 yesterday, hoping when they come in, they are bright enough for uplighting venues if i buy more.... what do u think of the brightness of them? Do i still have the 10? Wanna sell em?
They definitely perform better in darker venues. Why they made them 12wt instead of the standard of 18wt is a mystery, unless it was to prolong battery life, also I hear that they have RF3's now and depending on whether the figured out the wireless dmx issues that may be a great alternative also they're battery pack Uplights are a pretty good option. I'm probably gonna hold on to mine to uplight my totems and booth because the rf signal doesn't have to see the light to be able to use the remote so I can remotely change the lighting in my totems without having to pull the scrims back
😄
Thank you
