I'm 62 and this guy read my mind. Will go and try all at the music store but already leaning towards the GT1000. Bear in mind I am a bass player owing currently a GT-1B
I am a bedroom player. I don't need anything high-end. For me sitting at home and just tinkering, this pedal will more than do its job. Very happy buy and I would do so again.
I bought the GT-1000 last year and have to say I'm super happy with it. As a gigging musician it just works. One thing about the power supply connection, I would actually see this as a huge plus because I can run it off my 1-spot Power supply together with my wireless system.
Currently owning both a Helix Rack and a Headrush this video bears out my experience. Helix is king for versatility and selection. But the Headrush actually has better quality amp modelling and overall has a more pleasing high fidelity sound.
Your comment is actually helping me down the road to a decision about which one to buy- I don’t need it to do a million things and switch super well- I will likely be more a “set it and forget it” player, so I care about the tone. I hate most effects and just want a good blues rock tone without lugging an amp around and a good tube tone without playing so loudly that my wife leaves me.

All 3 sound great. Don't worry about which sounds thinner, or has more thump. Remember that these can all be tweaked with different mics, cabs, eq's and such. You want to listen to the characteristics of the sound. Do the notes die off naturally? What frequency does the distortion really hit? I loved the Boss and Helix. The headrush sounded great, but a little sterile. But another huge selling point is versatility and connectivity. In this category, the Helix is the Mac Daddy. Totally both the Helix and Boss were neck and neck back and forth depending on the sound
Really competitive features from all, but one thing that wasn't mentioned: The BOSS stuff is built like a tank. You don't have to worry about it getting broken at a bar gig. That's actually a really important point considering how expensive this stuff is.
the distributor of Helix told me that there's a lot of hardware issues on Helix and thats the reason they discontinued selling it in the PHL. You've heard the issues from POD XT HD products of Line 6 and well i guess it continues up to the Helix line. Now i am using Boss GT-1000 instead. and yes i owned ME-7 GT-100 and up until now it doesnt have any issues. Built like a tank indeed!
I've owned all 3 but only kept the Headrush, the amp sounds to my ear are better, Helix is better for routing and effects, Boss sounds great but I hated the interface, Headrush Reacts and sounds like a real amp, and above all is FUN to use, I get way more playing done with the Headrush, never stopped tweaking the Helix because I was never happy, gave up tweaking the Boss because I wasn't enjoying it. But as Dagan says, they're all good, just find the one you prefer. Don't let the price tag snobs cloud your choice..
i have the headrush and feel the same way. as a lover of tube amps who thought he would never go digital, the headrush amp sounds completely blew me away. but most importantly, it is an absolute blast to play. for months after getting it, i was like a kid, looking forward to getting home from work every day to play with the headrush!
The Headrush sounds so good in my recent recording board it takes all the hassle of using multiple microphones and stuff to get amps recorded out of the way and just sounds so much better than the microphone believe it or not 😉👍
Used all of them...and ended up going with the Headrush for tone clarity, interface, and ease of use... I run my large parellel pedalboard inside of its stereo FX loop which eliminates the need for buffer pedals... Records and plays nicely with Abelton and Push 2... So glad they are continuously upgrading it...
@@jeffrey.a.hanson I'm using cabs and IRs in the headrush connected to monitor speakers so I know exactly what it sounds like while recording... If I played live, I would definitely be utilizing my amps for tone, but too difficult to capture correctly in recording...
Consistently the best gear reviewer out there! If I'm ever in a position to travel to the U.K. and spend some cash, I will be stopping in. I owe you that much for sure. Thank you!
I wish someone could take the best of these 3 and merge them. For me, I prefer the Headrush’s interface, the Helix’s connection options, and the Boss’s sound seems closest to the original effects to my ears.
I love the Boss. I own one, and to me, it has a better feel, if that makes any sense. It feels like playing through my old amp, but I'm going direct to a mixer.
For me, my Helix has become my main rig. I’m an absolute junkie for versatility and it ticks every single box for me. I own a Blackstar Series One which is great but when I need to go to a gig anywhere, I can never justify lugging a 2x12 combo when I can just chuck this in a bag with a couple of XLR cables and know I have every single base covered. Haven’t tried the boss or the headrush but from what I see here it is probably personal preference between them all. Anyone that thinks modellers aren’t the real deal need to stop living in the ‘00s and join the real world. Sure a vintage amp may be that 1 or 2% better, but no working musician can justify £1-2k per amp when you can just buy a modeller and have everything sorted. Audiences cannot tell the difference.
GT for the win. Own the GT and Helix. GT usually wins out for tone and feel and gets picked first. Helix comes into play only if I can't get the amp tone I'm looking for with the GT. Also GT switches patches very seamlessly. Also not a fan of the L6 attached expression pedal. Actually prefer the LT version expression pedal.
Aww man, I am LOL ROTFL!!! At 21:04, Dagan screws up a chord, stops, looks up, and goes on. Priceless!! Truly one of the best reviewers around. Fun to watch and learn. Thanks!!
I had the smaller head rush MX5 and it had a bunch of issues just figured it was a bad unit so sent it back and got a replacement and that one had issues as well so I sent it back and got the Boss gt-1000 and could not be happier with it just an amazing unit! unfortunately due to all the issues with the head rush units it kinda turned me off to any of there stuff. But I have been using Boss products ever since I started playing guitar and they have never let me down!
The Boss user interface is definitely the least user friendly, but I forced myself to learn it because everytime I switched to a Helix, I just never felt the tones were as close to the original pedals as the Boss is. Plus, the Boss has some features the others just don’t do as well for my needs. Such as the ability to use the chain split blocks to send different frequencies down different paths (ie, send low frequencies to one amp chain, and high frequencies to a different amp chain), or sending light attack picks down one chain, and heavy attack picks down a different chain. That’s super useful, and the GT1000 does it best in my opinion. Plus, almost every Boss pedal made is in the GT1000, and they sound amazing. But I wish they would update their UI to be more user friendly like the Helix and Headrush are.
@@drmarianogarauJust a guess, but maybe if you put an eq in front of each amp, and adjust them so the lows are off on one amp and the highs are off on the other.
never tried the headrush but i own both helix floor and gt-1000 and play live most of the time so this is'nt a biased review as i love them both but for me the boss feels and sounds better but they are both great units...p.s...i get 90% of my gear from pmt birmingham and gaz has always looked after me well...thanks gaz.
Headrush is awesome. Had it for about a year. I use a Blackstar Studio 10 EL34 and run the 4-cable method. I also run direct into the return with different amp heads. Works great with headphones too.
I was 100% ready to buy a helix. But when I did the research, I felt the headrush was more to my style. I bought the headrush around a year ago and have no regrets! It is the best!!!
Currently I’m playing a GT100. Gets decent sounds but I’ve got the opportunity to purchase a newer and clearer sounding unit. There’s not much price difference between the GT1000 and the Helix LT in Australia but for me the UI and tones in the Helix sound best. The Boss has the best Marshall sound in this video but nothing that can’t be EQ’d a little with the Helix. Great Video as always, you guys! 😎
I’ve had all three. I still have the headrush and helix. I regret daily getting rid of the boss and keeping the headrush. What can I say, lack of scribble strips got me (yeah, we’re that far in modeling that a scribble strip made up my mind 😂) In saying that, I prefer the helix by far over the headrush, or at least what sounds I can get out of it. I’d like to sell the headrush to buy another gt1000 because imho it does have the best sound.
Great job Dagan! The GT-1000 surprised me, some of those tones (Marshall) were great! I had a Helix then sold it for a Headrush and haven't looked back. The interface of the Headrush is what sold me, but I've learned to tweak it and use some external IRs and it's perfect for my needs. The new v2.3 firmware has some cool new tones as well.
How do I get the ir s for the headrush gigboard. I find the tone not overly great. I use the amps and take out the cabs. Cabs sound kinda horrible. My old x3 live sounds amazing compared to some of these sounds on hr
Hey Steve, could you share some knowledge with me. I just recently acquired the GT1000 to add some effects to my TC50. I connected everything via the 4CM, but I just cannot get that dry TC oomph that I love so much. Everything sound compressed and inorganic compared to what it sounded like before.
@@headkickko609 oh boy, I'm not gonna tell ya it's easy because it's not. Honestly, if you want the tc50 sound but with fx I found it best to go through the front input of the amp direct. 4cm is my preferred way but make sure you've got the GT1000 output set to Recording mode. The other ootion is to keep it on natural or transparent with both the real amp and GT1000 amp linked in stereo.
@@steves12stringshey Steve thx for the reply. We somehow managed to get the dry TC50 and the TC50 with the GTK to almost 1:1. Basically all you have to do is set the global EQ as flat as possible and then turning the loop of the TC50 on and off, listening carefully for the differences in frequencies and output. Sure you have to turn off all speaker sims and EQs that might reside in the signal chain somewhere. But I was blown away that I came so close to the orig. sound. Now it's on to the midi...
My personal preference Clean sound: headrush Vox sound: helix Marshall: boss Rectifier: helix All devices are awesome, but I'm gonna choose Boss, just because the Bluetooth editing from mobile app
IMHO besides convenience and sound I believe the units are pitched towards quite clear audiences: Headrush probably best for non tech savvy and beginners, Boss aimed at guitarists who know what they want and don't really need exact replicas for modeling but good feel and vibes, as well as excellent fx complement for their existing amps, while Helix can potentially serve a whole band with its wealth of routing and customization options that go well beyond just guitar in focus. So if you don't wanna get deep Headrush, if you're guitar-centric Boss, if you're band-centric Helix. Easy.
I've had the headrush, I've used the Helix, and I own the GT 1000 and GT 1000 core. My opinion is the Headrush was easier to use the amps and mics UT there were waaaay too many options and you get lost in the settings. The pedal effects were moderately okay and the amp models weren't much better. The Helix was good but I wasn't overly thrilled. The GT is my absolute favorite! The effects are top notch and the amp models are simple and straight forward. I dont care that the pedal chain is predetermined but I can live with that.
I've had the Headrush Gigboard for over a year now, and with every update it just keeps getting better and better. The tones are endless, and the price is a no-brainer.
It's a good piece of gear, until your USB port fail you or the rainbow of death. I did not think that I will be commenting about it, but it will happen sooner or later no matter how much you take care of the device. Actually, I'm just waiting for mine to get the rainbow, so I can move on and away from this brand.
@@jeimusic08 Yeah I'm aware of that. Mine's actually acted funky a few times but hasn't quit on me yet. I just use it for home use anyway. As long as it works I'm happy.👍
This was an awesome, awesome review! Thank you very much! I decided to go to line 6 because the one feature everybody forgets that is truly amazing is that… You can also change settings on line six guitars with the helix! That is incredible. So my first piece of digital wizardry is the Shuriken 27” guitar. It’s Great! One day I will add the helix to my arsenal.
My personal preference to what I just heard is: Marshall tone: GT1000 Mesa Boogie tone: Helix I’d definitely go for the Helix, as the Marshall tone in it is better accepted than the Mesa Boogie tone in the GT1000 compared to the Helix.
@@craigohlgren6875 at the time. The Headrush has more volume hands down. I believe for the Helix to shine is to get a Seymour Duncan power stage and a unpowered cab or Maybe the line 6 powered cabinet. I want to get into the variax guitars, but the volume must be greater from the Helix. Programming is harder on the Helix. The GT1000 is the workhorse when your Space is limited and sounds good especially with the Boss Tone Library app which I can get sounds from Steve Lukather, Vai, Jack Thamarrat and others for free and the Acoustic sounds are cool when you need that sound......
I like the sound of the HeadRush and also the clarity and mid-range of the GT1000. I got the HeadRush pedalboard, but am a little disappointed with the midi offerings. I am venturing into the GT1000 core because it just sounds good and I'm just going to control everything via a Matthews Futurist... midi is your friend!! LOL!!!
The selling point for me re the Boss GT-1000 is the size. It's not as big as the other two. Most places I play have very limited space on stage and I try to limit my pedals so I have more room. Also, over a decade ago I have used a GT-6 and it has been incredibly reliable. That's another selling point.
I’ve personally been looking at the headrush because of the interface and it’s a lot cheaper than the helix, especially on the used market. But I don’t think any of them wouldn’t get the job done or would be a “wrong choice”
I used a Headrush Pedalboard for about a year and a half, mainly for bass, but also for guitar. It's a pretty great unit, but the bass limitations and pretty much zero communication from devs about firmware updates (last major update was June 2019), and I switched to the Line 6 Helix. I am much happier with the Helix. The features are incredible, the routing options are damn near limitless, and thing is built like a tank!
I don't own any but I plan to acquire one soon ;-)! On this shootout, no big differences in clear sound, but a huge difference in saturated or crunch sound... Listening to Marshall or Mesa type sound, for me, there's no doubt : the GT1000 wins ! You get the sound compression of a full Marshall! The Headrush is really flat I think, the Helix may be interesting (the AC30 sound is not bad, maybe more biting than the sound of the GT1000). An important point: the long term... It may be naive, but I would trust Boss more for the long term software support and general reliability. From what I've read, the Headrush seems to have a low reliability...
I had a guy burst into our practice room while connecting the GTK to my Mesa TC50 via 4CM. It distracted me enough so that I connected one of the speaker outputs instead of the loop send to the GTK. I tried to play something and an insane squeel filled the room. I could not figure out what was wrong, I finally discovered the error and prayed to God I didn't blow the amp or the GTK... well everything works just fine although a speaker output signal went directly into the GTK's fine circuitry. Could very well be a testament to BOSSes quality.... Oh and the sounds are insane and the BT app thingy is just really awesome...
Tbf, I have a vocoloco which you can pick up for around £400 which has phantom power, pre amp and eq which is built to transfer mic lines into instrument lines. Getting the headrush or the helix Lt and the voco loco would still be cheaper than the full spec helix. Just another pedal. But if you're planning on using the send I/I'd you'd have more pedals floating around anyway.
I love the Headrush prime, I always practice along with backing tracks and it sounds so good in the mix, it really makes me a more creative player. I’ve had helix lt for about 5yrs now. While I can surely get great tones out of it, there was something that was lacking. I guess I just dealt with it. Until I got the Mx5 and then started comparing the two over a period of about a year and a half switching back and forth between the two and strangely enough I always ended playing the mx5 more than the helix, it just always seemed more organic. It made me want to play more it just feels right. Plus the looper allows me to create a clean backing, back out and choose a beautiful lead sound to jam along with. I’m very happy with it so much that I sold the helix. Just my two cents.
I have the little Headrush MX5 and a Spark40 and really like them modeling has come a long way. I still keep a 6505 i had before the modelers bc its glorious.
I use helix native and headrush and amp modeling is definitely better on headrush. Helix has more effects and love the new sustain fx. Also headrush doesn't have acoustic simulator. So both is good. For actual playing i love the headrush ease..Its is more user friendly than helix which is also very easy to use.
Boss Pocket GT ! 2021 is the end of the floorboard, Guitar Players Unchained, now you can visit the other players in the band during performance , and think, wow I haven't seen you since 1965, ( the date of the first stompbox,)
sound is subjective and they all sounded good. and you can only tell the difference if all you do all day is compare them. so in terms of functionality, the boss gt series' "assigns" is the best feature where you can set multiple functions on one switch, multiple functions on the other, and so on, all within a patch.
Boss sounds best. I got one and I love it. I'd just like them to work out some kinks in the UI in future updates. And my one criticism with EVERY modeller there is, is that the Big Muff emulation sounds totally wrong at low gain settings. I use my real big muff at about 20% on the sustain knob. It's crunch without full on fuzz and it's awesome. But on every digital model I've tried, it's just inaccurate. The Boss may offer the best one, but the low end is still weirdly dissonant if you have the gain below 50 on the muff fuzz.
Oh yeah I never thought about that but you are right. They probably think that we want low volume fuzz but really we want it to emulate the pedal to get the great tones that we got irl. are there any simulated overdrives that have a similar sound to that low sustain big muff?
The real question is: which pedal is the most fun to use? Thet all sound great and pretty much have the same bells & whistles. Buy which one makes playing more fun, enjoyable and maybe even inspiring?
After sitting out on the modeling thing for years now.. the GT1000 sounds best (apparently feels best too). Mine comes in today. Pumped to start crafting sounds
Good demo. There is a stronger low end on Boss G1000 and a much expression on the mids and highs on the Helix. The Headrush has more balanced but not necessarily better.
Great comperison you done there! I want to get a Headrush, the bass depth of the BOSS GT-1000 is there more though. I really like the look of the Headrush pedal board.
with capabities of chaining by each device, it seems that the best way: might be owning all three and using side chaining like the old days of slave functions and it would not be hard to choose the best of the best from each unit, cost of combining all three might actually be cost worthy, and would depend on each artist's desire to dish out the coin and sacrifice pays in: as long as one stays true to the heart
It just dawned on me that the Boss has the second row of foot switches raised up on a distinctly higher platform. That alone would would be fantastic for gigging
I can’t comment on the others personally, but I’ve owned a Helix Floor since they were released and it’s a fantastic bit of kit! The extra inputs and 4 bus architecture make it an ideal studio tool, so I have the aux ins/outs hooked up to my patchbay, giving me access to all the HX FX for my synths, along being able to record 4 independant tracks into my DAW! The Fender Princeton model that was released with the recent 3.0 firmware is just bloody gorgeous! To be fair... If I had the money, I’d buy the other 2 anorl, the Boss has a lovely warmth to it🤘
I have watched several of these comparison videos and Dagan breathes new life and enthusiasm into this subject. As for the units themselves I always go with ranking them 1, Boss, 2 Helix. Headrush has a nice interface, but this is about sound and it lags a little.
Sorry, this is BS... If you have used all three, then you know that the HR clearly has the best tone quality among them... You are talking out your ass...
I thought the user interface on the BOSS GT1000 was so bad I didn’t even want to try it, I liked the Helix so I bought it and I’m still happy with it as a Line6 fanboy, the head rush I’ve never known about until now
GT 1000 sounds best to me in this review...I believe it would cut through the mix better, more raw amp feel, and not overly processed like the other two modelers...
I used to own the full fat Helix and I was never really happy with its overall sound. Also it was quite large and heavy. I would say it was an absolute breeze to use. For my ears I preferred the Headrush sound out of the three which is surprising considering how new the Gt1000 is.
i just got the rv500 and its out of this world. the tonal quality increase compared to the next 24 bit unit is astounding. if your effects loop has the correct amount of headroom you're in for a huge surprise with 32bit processing. im sold on the gt1000 for that reason alone.
@@truescotsman4103 That is as hires as they get now and used to really have to pay for 32bit d/a gear. Use the Boss DD-200 and has the same specs and smokes on distortions and overdrives. Best deal out there for just those two needs(imho).
It’s a really tough call between the Headrush and the Helix for me. Can you do a comparison of the modeling setups with the Tube counterpart? I’m having a hard time deciding between those three options. Help!!
I can tell you that I'm a tube amp user and nothing digital could even compare, my ears tried and true and just used to tube amp and that's why I preferred and purchased the Headrush pedal board because it's that good and the extra effects sounds just like my analog n pedals into a tube amps ! Maybe it's because I use Headrush but I've seen far more pro guys use Headrush than helix but the one Helix guy I heard playing in van Halen cover band and it sounded awesome !
I was a Boss fanboy since the ME5 days, I went through most of the GT line until the Helix was launched. Once I got the Helix I then became a Line 6 fanboy. I would like to try the GT1000 and Headrush but I feel they might not have the versatility that the Helix has.
I don't know that there is anything the helix can do that the Boss can't do better. I got the GT1000 and I love it. Really competitive features from all, but one thing that wasn't mentioned: The BOSS stuff is built like a tank. You don't have to worry about it getting broken at a bar gig. That's actually a really important point considering how expensive this stuff is.
Nobody ever thinks this playing out. Not unless you have 50k of gear and nobody to watch it would you be worried about this kind of stuff.
the distributor of Helix told me that there's a lot of hardware issues on Helix and thats the reason they discontinued selling it in the PHL. You've heard the issues from POD XT HD products of Line 6 and well i guess it continues up to the Helix line. Now i am using Boss GT-1000 instead. and yes i owned ME-7 GT-100 and up until now it doesnt have any issues. Built like a tank indeed!
Everybody literally says this about their device, “built like a tank!” 🤡
@@trippingthelightfantastic Same here, I really enjoy the Headrush, it positively encourages you to play and not tinker with technology..
The Headrush sounds so good in my recent recording board it takes all the hassle of using multiple microphones and stuff to get amps recorded out of the way and just sounds so much better than the microphone believe it or not 😉👍
I just bought the boss gt 1000 core and love it!
You ever try running the headrush into a cab? Or is it worth just getting a dedicated speaker.
@@jeffrey.a.hanson I'm using cabs and IRs in the headrush connected to monitor speakers so I know exactly what it sounds like while recording... If I played live, I would definitely be utilizing my amps for tone, but too difficult to capture correctly in recording...
I was love my Headrush pedalboard..And this video showed me how much more I should love it.Thank you for comparision..🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Boss has the best quality of tone- More real.
More authentic
Consistently the best gear reviewer out there!
If I'm ever in a position to travel to the U.K. and spend some cash, I will be stopping in. I owe you that much for sure. Thank you!
Such an informative video man! I'm so close to pulling the trigger for the GT 1000.
I have one too. I agree. Everything else sounds like a toy in comparison.
If you use jens bolgron irs it sounds even better
But I wish they would update their UI to be more user friendly like the Helix and Headrush are.
gx100 is going the right way on interface if you haven't saw that
I own a gt1000... How do you do that?
@@deadshot4245 agree, much better
@@SDisonYT helix floor user these days but touchscreen is very useful
@@drmarianogarauJust a guess, but maybe if you put an eq in front of each amp, and adjust them so the lows are off on one amp and the highs are off on the other.
I have a Helix but I wanted to see what the BOSS masters are up to.And they sound great.
Dagan did a great job here.Thank you.
never tried the headrush but i own both helix floor and gt-1000 and play live most of the time so this is'nt a biased review as i love them both but for me the boss feels and sounds better but they are both great units...p.s...i get 90% of my gear from pmt birmingham and gaz has always looked after me well...thanks gaz.
and thats a narrow margin too they are all very close
Headrush is awesome. Had it for about a year. I use a Blackstar Studio 10 EL34 and run the 4-cable method. I also run direct into the return with different amp heads. Works great with headphones too.
So running different headrush effects through the loop as well as in front? I never thought of doing that with a modeller.
Boss Gt-1000 all the way!
The others are nice too!
Cheers from Portugal 🍺🤘🇵🇹
I was 100% ready to buy a helix. But when I did the research, I felt the headrush was more to my style. I bought the headrush around a year ago and have no regrets! It is the best!!!
In person the Head rushe always sounds the best and then the boss sounds really great in person too but the helix sounds I couldn't enjoy.
Thanks so much brother I just bought a headrush and appreciate your comment. I love it man XTX
1. Headrush
2. Boss
3. Helix
That's what I heard in this video. The Boss Marshall sound was the best. The headrush sounded better at everything else.
All I need.
Headrush it is!!
Great video! All 3 are amazing. Can't go wrong with any of these. For me... I'm going with the Headrush
True... Depends on what is most important to you... i went with the HR too...for tone clarity and ease of use...
I hit the greatest Head rush because it's best sound and easy to use !
I’d like to sell the headrush to buy another gt1000 because imho it does have the best sound.
why did you sell the boss and keep the helix if boss had the best sounds?
Great job Dagan! The GT-1000 surprised me, some of those tones (Marshall) were great! I had a Helix then sold it for a Headrush and haven't looked back. The interface of the Headrush is what sold me, but I've learned to tweak it and use some external IRs and it's perfect for my needs. The new v2.3 firmware has some cool new tones as well.
Great move. I've done the same. I find the headrush Sims more organic and the fact it will take 96k 500ms IR's kills the helix
How do I get the ir s for the headrush gigboard. I find the tone not overly great. I use the amps and take out the cabs. Cabs sound kinda horrible. My old x3 live sounds amazing compared to some of these sounds on hr
I've been using the GT1000 with the 4cm on my Mesa TC100 for about a year. Couldn't be more satisfied! Had all 3 of these and a Kemper. Kept the Boss.
Is that a cab, or is it an amp head with a cab? I’m super concerned it’ll sound bad through an amp / fix loop like L6 products did for me.
@@justinTime077 It is an amp head with a cab.
My personal preference
Clean sound: headrush
Vox sound: helix
Marshall: boss
Rectifier: helix
All devices are awesome, but I'm gonna choose Boss, just because the Bluetooth editing from mobile app
Easy.
I haven’t tried the other two, but I love my Headrush. So easy to use and tweak, and built like a tank.
OMG. This is the standard for all shootout videos going forward. Excellent job. Well done
So Best to worst in this order:
#1 Boss GT-1000
#2 Headrush
#3 Line 6 Helix
Dagan i just wanted to say how much i enjoy your videos man. Your informed and entertaining. Keep on shredding man. God Bless.
Brilliant Dagan - cracking! playing and super helpful shootout - Sounds like each board has something great to offer!!
I've had the Headrush Gigboard for over a year now, and with every update it just keeps getting better and better.
The tones are endless, and the price is a no-brainer.
Plus I've found so many free rigs online that are amazing.
It’s Great!
One day I will add the helix to my arsenal.
the line 6 is my favourite, i played through it in pmt today and this is gonna be what i use for MY tone!
I done the last 3 generations, bought them all and ended up with the Headrush because I am a visual person for the interface.
I have the Headrush pedalboard and it’s hands down my favorite
My personal preference to what I just heard is:
Marshall tone: GT1000
Mesa Boogie tone: Helix
I’d definitely go for the Helix, as the Marshall tone in it is better accepted than the Mesa Boogie tone in the GT1000 compared to the Helix.
I've owned the HeadRush for 4 years, GT1000 2 1/2 years. Both sound great. Ive just ordered the Helix. I will have the Guitar Trifecta!!🎸🎧
I’m assuming you have all 3 now. Which do you prefer?
Great Re-View.. my helix was damaged by roadie and dropped.. need to replace the jogger.. but I can work around until we have time to repair..
Always enjoy watching your videos.
One word comes to mind. Choice paralysis!!!!!!!
Boss sounds best to me overall... Helix and Headrush have a tendency of sounding too thin and brittle for my tastes.
There is an EQ on the Headrush global settings.
@@sebastianbisurgi9970 same with the Helix. Global eq for when the venue calls for a change
I’ve personally been looking at the headrush because of the interface and it’s a lot cheaper than the helix, especially on the used market. But I don’t think any of them wouldn’t get the job done or would be a “wrong choice”
Anything but Boss is the wrong choice. Honestly. Boss is the one ring.
Un opinión contructiva . Demasiadas palabras..y recordá que te ven gente de diferentes idiomas..!! Gracias por tu aporte
Headrush all day, everyday!!
Cool comparison 👍🏻 btw love the energy and positive vibes of this guy, playing like he is on stage lol way to rock 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
Seems like the Helix LT would be more similar to the other two units, as the Helix has multiple inputs for guitar and a vocal input.
For actual playing i love the headrush ease..Its is more user friendly than helix which is also very easy to use.
love the legacy fx on the helix. Don't care for anything else in it
Headrush has acoustic Sim now and it's amazing, the best I've ever heard, sounds like real wood and metal strings, it's trippy.
Boss Pocket GT ! 2021 is the end of the floorboard, Guitar Players Unchained, now you can visit the other players in the band during performance , and think, wow I haven't seen you since 1965, ( the date of the first stompbox,)
The Boss still sounds like an updated COSM thing to me... For those who liked COSM this must be great, I prefer Helix
I actually own both, when one turns down those heavy gain on the BOSS, it actually sounds pretty insane! Boss presets just sucks bad.
They’re all good, just get any of them that works your work flow and be done with it! By the way I dig that SG man!
sound is subjective and they all sounded good. and you can only tell the difference if all you do all day is compare them. so in terms of functionality, the boss gt series' "assigns" is the best feature where you can set multiple functions on one switch, multiple functions on the other, and so on, all within a patch.
Great video! This narrows it down for me on which one to get. I’ve had the Boss GT-100 and loved it but I think I’ll dive into the Helix
The real question is: which pedal is the most fun to use? Thet all sound great and pretty much have the same bells & whistles. Buy which one makes playing more fun, enjoyable and maybe even inspiring?
Superb video, very helpful! I think I’d go for the Helix.
Is it going through that cab it's sitting on or are we hearing a direct to DAW recorded tone.
I really like the look of the Headrush pedal board.
with capabities of chaining by each device, it seems that the best way: might be owning all three and using side chaining like the old days of slave functions and it would not be hard to choose the best of the best from each unit, cost of combining all three might actually be cost worthy, and would depend on each artist's desire to dish out the coin and sacrifice pays in: as long as one stays true to the heart
that's actually not a bad idea at all use the best function of each
It just dawned on me that the Boss has the second row of foot switches raised up on a distinctly higher platform.
@@ShaighJosephson not talking out of ass. Just not suffering hearing loss; get yer ears checked, son.
I thought the user interface on the BOSS GT1000 was so bad I didn’t even want to try it, I liked the Helix so I bought it and I’m still happy with it as a Line6 fanboy, the head rush I’ve never known about until now
Boss had the most organic and authentic tones. Line 6 everything sounds digital. Rush decent
The 32bit processing and converters really make boss hard to beat(imho).
@@HEXiT_ yep, screwed that up. Not that you need 32 bit but certainly cannot hurt. I hear it really good on my boss od-200
That's great an all for the cooler computer nerd, but I listen with me ears and that's why I chose the greatest Head rush pedal board.
@@AuntAlnico4 In the end that is what it is about. But boy do they sell that used in high numbers.
i just got the rv500 and its out of this world. the tonal quality increase compared to the next 24 bit unit is astounding. if your effects loop has the correct amount of headroom you're in for a huge surprise with 32bit processing. im sold on the gt1000 for that reason alone.

I think if you measure what do pro/gigging musicians use most of, you’ll get an answer per units sold/used live by musicians Helix is is tops out of these 3
Maybe it's because I use Headrush but I've seen far more pro guys use Headrush than helix but the one Helix guy I heard playing in van Halen cover band and it sounded awesome !
Reamp is one of my favorite features on headrush when recording
Dagan…..you are “the man”. Nice job - brother.
I was a Boss fanboy since the ME5 days, I went through most of the GT line until the Helix was launched. Once I got the Helix I then became a Line 6 fanboy. I would like to try the GT1000 and Headrush but I feel they might not have the versatility that the Helix has.
Try it you may like it better then your other 2 choices.
I don't know that there is anything the helix can do that the Boss can't do better.
I got the GT1000 and I love it. I have some minor gripes, mostly in regards to the UI, so that can potentially be fixed in updates.
But It is an incredible sounding unit. Makes the helix sound like a toy in my opinion.
I was into ME10. Got the Helix now...but damn.. the old memories still love BOSS
May 2021 headrush pedal + headrush rfrf108 on a bundle for half the price of a Helix. Add than USd60,00 and get the sonic DNA whole IR collection for the pedalboard and still you have enough to buy a peavey 6505+ for still the same price of a helix. So yes, Headrush pedalboard.
