I can't imagine the intense focus it would take to put on a performance on a Really bad day, like Joyce was saying crying 30 minutes before hand, fixing her Concealer and then walking out onstage!.
Great interview. I only wish I was a little more familiar with some of the works to which she makes reference. Anyone know the name (and correct spelling) of the aria she was speaking about (the one with the experienced singer giving a master class who degraded her in front of everyone)? This was a great interview, what a charming soprano!
Joyce is an amazing educator. Her Masterclasses are filled with expert analysis and helpful tips. In a highly difficult situation for the student, she is kind and thoughtful while providing excellent counsel.
I'm a professional ballet dancer and am so inspired by this interview. Thank you Joyce for your genuine, honest, and creative thoughts. You are truly a light. This interview is inspiring my life.!
Awesome interview. Very refreshing to listen to Joyce and overcoming challenges by being resilient and keeping an open imagination to maintain creativity. So much empathy and insight in this.

The aria she was speaking about is from Norma by Bellini. The role is Adalgisa's and the aria is called: Sgombra è la sacra selva.
Welcome.

Most inspiring, Ms. DiDonato.
It's incredible how human music makes you feel. And Joyce is a wonderful example of that.
It must be Schwarzkopf who was teaching her in the master class
probably or mirella freni she's a total bitch in masterclasses
what an awesome interview, wish there was more

It's true we have to relearn the imagination with the practical demands of adult life.
She is lovely and a fantastic artist ❤️👏🔥
This helped very much. Thank you for the video!
I wish Donizetti got the respect that the other major Italians get.

What a delight.
The show must go on
