just came across this video. and wow. i must say this is impressive. i am looking at this through the eyes of a click up user, which i feel you guys compete directly with. you destry clickup with your free plan and storage, as well as you video call integration and ability to schedule time offs in one app. that's nuts and click up doesnt come close yet to that. The only thing though that will hinder me and my team from switching is actually having a mobile app. i work for a non-profit organization and clickup's mobile app has become essential for us on the go to complete tasks, chat with team mates, view process documents etc.. do you guys have a mobile application in the works or is it something the team is considering?
What is Huly? Excellent question. Huly isn't just another high-tech company. Huly isn't just about software. Huly, Huly is about people. Huly is about innovative technology that, makes a difference. Transforming the world as we know it. Making the world, a better place, through minimal message oriented transport layers. I firmly believe we can only achieve greatness, if first, we achieve goodness.
This is a really nice system, but damn is it resource intensive. For self-hosting make sure you have at least a 2CPU/4Gb VPS. Hopefully it can be more lightweight as time goes on.
Everything is available as open source and will available as open source, so potentially you can self-host everything you see in the cloud version. However, we may not "prepackage" everything into self-hosted distribution for various reasons. One of reasons is some integrations (like GitHub) may require you to install a separate app in GitHub or work with Google to enable an API, and we need to write extensive documentation to describe everything (however we know there are some people who managed it without any docs from dev side). Another reason can be that some parts of cloud version rely on proprietary Cloudflare services, which we intentionally do not include into self-hosting packages to avoid any vendor lock-ins. TL;DR; sources available for all features, but some features may not be available out-of-the-box so you need to spend some effort to run them within your environment.
@@huly_io ah so this is why the integrations dont work with the self-hosted distribution? I am trying to figure it out right now and looking in github issues a few other people have the same issue i have and it's not answered. i need to learn how this works.

It has been difficult finding something like this without being forced to use their cloud and AI options.. I do my own
Huly is open source and will always be open source, so you will always be able to self-host for free. There are some modules that we don't pre-package for self-hosting; for example, we use cloud LiveKit for our virtual office so if you wanted to self-host you could either use their cloud version or self-host LiveKit yourself. AI capabilities will be similar when they are implemented. Hope this helps! -Abigail
