I found I had to place the capo on the 2nd fret to match the track on Strange Trails. I'm pretty sure my guitar is in standard tuning. Thanks for posting the tutorial, really helped.
She has her capo on 1st fret but to me it sounds better on 2nd fret. Intro: (Em, D, G, Em, G, C) x2 First Verse: (Em, D, G, Em, G, C) x 2 Em, G, C Instrumental: Em, D, G, Em, G, C Second Verse (Same as first verse): (Em, D, G, Em, G, C) x 2 Em, G, C Chorus: (C, G, Em, Am) x 4 Bridge: (Em, D, G, Em, G, C) x 2 (Em, G, C) x2 Chorus again: (C, G, Em, Am) x 4 Outro (same as intro): (Em, D, G, Em, G, C) x2
I'm still having trouble with the strumming pattern for the chorus. I know it's different from the rest of the song, but I can't figure out how it goes
i used to just work these out by ear, but it gets harder as you get older :/ well, it has for me anyway lol i knew it was easy, but just couldnt get the pattern to fall together.
For the intro it is: Em - D DU UDU, A is just 2 downstrokes and G * 2. Pattern continues through the whole song, "long" chords are D DU UDU (*2) and short parts are 2 downstrokes. Hope that's correct.
Two years late, but better than nothing I guess. What kinda works for me is: Em (D-DU-UDU) D (DD) G (D-DU-UDU) x2 Em (D-DU-UDU) G (DD) C (D-DU-UDU) x2 And you repeat for a second time but with a little variation right after the C chord, which would be: Em (D-DU-UDU) G (DD) C (D-DU-UDU) x2 The pattern is pretty much the same throughout the whole song. Long chords being D-DU-UDU and short chords DD. Same with the Am chord variation.
Hey, thanks for the feedback! I try to cater my videos to a beginner audience where barre chords can be a little tricky to pick up, hence the changes :)
+Benjamin Jaques I'm living in the Netherlands without a guitar at the moment - I can record a tutorial in the future, but this won't be until August this year! Sorry!
estellacatcamer It seems that way, but its because its not hard to follow once you've mastered the basics. You'll come back later amd be surprised at how easy it is. Em, Am, D, C & G. Watch it again. It follows the same patterns once you get the chord switches.
More Lord Huron tutorials would be wonderful, if you find the time. Thanks for this
Yes please!!
Wow, great tutorial! I'm thinking about playing this song for my Girlfriend as its her favourite song. So this is very helpful! Thank you!
How did it go?
Did you ever play it?
Yeah I wanna know

Hello from Brazil, thanks for the tutorial!! =D
+Drew Stark hello! Thank you for watching!
Great tutorial! Would you please consider a tutorial for "Frozen Pines" also by Lord Huron?
I'm still having trouble with the strumming pattern for the chorus. I know it's different from the rest of the song, but I can't figure out how it goes
As a beginner I'm having trouble with the strumming pattern in general 😅
i used to just work these out by ear, but it gets harder as you get older :/ well, it has for me anyway lol i knew it was easy, but just couldnt get the pattern to fall together.
whole video I was just like “please sing!” hah. Cool tutorial anyway!
What kind of guitar are you playing? It looks like a great size for me
The pattern at 4:00 is:
C: D DU UDU D DU
G: D DU
Em: D DU UDU UD
C: D DU UDU UDU
G: D DU
Em: D DU UDU UDU
Am: D DU
Are you sure? That's a tad complicated.

Subbed, thank you! 🙌
Loved the video... what is the strum pattern ?
D DU UDU
Ah!! So good! If you could do one while singing that would be amazing!
Good job!
Great tutorial! Can you break down the strumming pattern?
For the intro it is: Em - D DU UDU, A is just 2 downstrokes and G * 2. Pattern continues through the whole song, "long" chords are D DU UDU (*2) and short parts are 2 downstrokes. Hope that's correct.
I dont recall any mention of the strum pattern - what is it ?
Two years late, but better than nothing I guess. What kinda works for me is:
Em (D-DU-UDU)
D (DD)
G (D-DU-UDU) x2
Em (D-DU-UDU)
G (DD)
C (D-DU-UDU) x2
And you repeat for a second time but with a little variation right after the C chord, which would be:
Em (D-DU-UDU)
G (DD)
C (D-DU-UDU) x2
The pattern is pretty much the same throughout the whole song. Long chords being D-DU-UDU and short chords DD.
Same with the Am chord variation.
@@patomomo28 brilliant it helped me out anyway!! How do you do the chorus pattern?
Patricio Anaya Thank you for saving a life 🙏🏼
I love this song!!
do you know the fingering of the minor disc cord
I notice lord Huron like to use the same chords for different songs
You’re so pretty!! And a sick songggggggg
Great but on the live video of Lord Huron, no capo and only bar chords. F#m (9th fret), D (5th fret), A (5th), F#m (2nd fret)...
Hey, thanks for the feedback! I try to cater my videos to a beginner audience where barre chords can be a little tricky to pick up, hence the changes :)

you remind me lily collins
You are georgous
Im in love
Can I play this without the thing in the first fret?
@@ambermcdonald8071 Well yes you can. But it will be a different key then.
Super cool, but, can someone tell me how the up and down goes?😂
Can u do a lesson on "Eyes on fire" by Blue Foundation?
+Benjamin Jaques I'm living in the Netherlands without a guitar at the moment - I can record a tutorial in the future, but this won't be until August this year! Sorry!
Its OK, and wow, I can't imagine being without a guitar for that long :(
I know - it's definitely a challenge. I really miss being able to play everyday!
I completely understand haha
thanks🎵😊
whats the name of your guitar?
Jorik van Hout it's a Marlow mahogany by Auden... unless you mean what have I named this guitar, in which case it's Milo haha
thanks!
Can you just play this without the cuts
Ojalá este tutorial estuviera en español
I am so much In love with you..I didn't heard the song 🙈
your going really fast

This is all kinds of wrong
too much talk. Just demonstrate, and play the whole song through, it is too disjointed the way you did it!
