- Niccolò Paganini's Mosè-fantasia, MS 23, on a theme of Rossini, arranged for two cellos by Werner-Mifune (with some additions from Seo and Smith) Charles Seo, cello 1. Brinton Averil Smith, cello 2. Taken from a live broadcast of a concert, August 15th, 2020. Charles was my student as a teenager, and then attended the Colburn School in Los Angeles where he studied with Ronald Leonard and Clive Greensmith before returning to Houston to join the Houston Symphony. He was a wonderful student and is a spectacular colleague, as you can see.

Not only technically perfect, but this is the first performance I've seen that truly felt more Rossini in spirit than Paganini. There were genuine moments that made me giggle and laugh (when I wasn't in complete marvel at the mastery). Thank you both for a fantastic performance!
