This dude is the Bob Ross of fishing
Besides the personality thing the sound quality is good. Bob insisted on close micing to pick up the sounds of painting.
This comment is under EVERY one of "this dude's" videos
@@maks886 Yes it is. Before cable tv, I would watch Bob Ross, not because I liked his show, but only because he had the only show on that was not basketball. He was either on Saturday or Sunday afternoon. We only had four channels.
i was thinking the same thing lol
I was JUST ABOUT TO COMMENT THIS
.:: BIRDS in this video ::.
Red-shouldered hawk at 0:00
Red-winged blackbird at 0:26 - :30
Black-capped chickadee at 6:46 (faint in the background)
Canada geese at 8:56
ArbitraryLifestyle thank you
Nice.
It's not "canadian" geese, it's canada goose/geese.
Mhm.
Thanks my guy
Ur videos are so relaxing Ive been binge watching them 3 nights in a row, this one was 10/10
Same 😂😂
Same
100% agree
Yup!
Dude same
It’s real nice to find a UA-cam content creator for fishing that is all about the fishing and none of the BS everyone thinks they need to “make it big”. High quality vid as usual. It’s rare to find someone with a respect of nature like you and I have anymore, and that’s what’s important.
well said!
I don't fish for crappie, but I watched this because you could make fishing for goldfish look interesting & enjoyable:)
now hwhy wouldnt u fish for such an excellent fish, BoomerGun?
Robert Smith - certainly nothing against crappie, but my home lake in the Pacific Northwest doesn't have many of them. I'm also spoiled with ready access to fresh salmon, steelhead & halibut for eating.
LOL. Yup, he's the Bob Ross of fishin', pure magic!
@@boomergun so much food
I'm wondering who these people are that hit the dislike button. Watching your videos is like therapy for me. Thanks for sharing them with us.
it was probably the 2 folks in the other kayaks lol
Beginning to think this guy gets to fish on another planet
For 5 months a year he does hahah
@@robcarey4189 I'm sure almost anywhere in MN and ND are absolutely ridiculous fishing in spring and summer.
FISH not really, it’s hard fishing out here unless you know the spots. Fishermen here are very tight lipped on good fishing holes that’s how come he never says were he is fishing or he only says what river he fishes on. He is a very accomplished fisherman and makes it look easy, I’m from Texas and live in ND I do ok but not like he does.
@@FISH-ny6sc You can find bass, bluegill, crappie very easily in MN but the level of success NDyakangler has is definitely not typical. He's a very practiced and accomplished fisherman. I can go out an catch a 20" bass but I won't be getting 5 of them in a single day like he does.
@@FISH-ny6sc definitely not the case. I personally have a lake that I go to where I can either get skunked, or literally have a smallmouth on that's 16"-21" every cast for 45 minutes if I get there at just the right time of year. However, I don't consistently get that level of success. I have another lake I can go to for pike where I can nail them all day long, even get the occasional 34"+ and I slam the pike every time. Usually at least 10 from me alone each outing. But it's very different for crappie especially. I'm only aware of one maybe two lakes that have the quality he's catching if not bigger. One lake I'm aware of, the average size I catch is 9" and the larger ones top out at 13" on a typical trip. Point is: yes there are spots but you have to work for it. Fishing is a large part of being a Minnesotan so a big portion of the population fishes, making it hard to find good spots sometimes. There's always gems though.
Your calm demeanor is my favorite part about all your fishing videos 👊🏻 your the man
Today I learned you crappie fish, today was a great day.
MN won’t let us fish bass yet but crappies are the next best thing! They’re a lot of fun, especially this time of year when they’re up shallow.
Crappie game fish are great.
Finally! I was beginning to think we were just fishing for sport! Those fish look delicious! 🐟🐟🐟
Why they call 'em panfish!
Such a quiet, soft spoken gent. A breath of fresh air in this UA-cam scene, where screamers seem to get the most attention. Love your channel, keep up the good work 👍🏼
Canada likes your style. Howard now 73 had many Mitchell 300s. Ontario has been an awesome place to live and fish. I have an A.C. Shiner that caught over 500 bass. Like your grandfathers old plug my fav bait is retired. Keep up your joy in outdoors.👍
Dude, you're like the Bob Ross of fishing. Sound like him too. 😂 Keep up the good work.
That's what I'm talking about homes! Take some home for a deepfry, fresh fish with a Cold one you can't beat it! Nice catch!
The waters you get to fish just seem to be immaculate. Awesome habitats. Great videos.
Holy Crappie ! Those are some darned nice "pan" fish. I lived in southern Cal growing up and we used to catch blue gill and crappie, but they weren't quire as big as some of those. Nice fishin bro.....good fun. My grandfather taught me how to fish in the mid 70s.... and it's been a life time of fun. I have lived in Hawaii for the past 30 years, and we have some good fishing out here. Ocean fishing is much different. I miss those lazy nights during summer, camping most nights with my brother or cousins and cat fishing all night. We would keep the freezer stocked with channel cat for most of the year from those summers. We were country boys, fishing and hunting were just part of life. I feel for people who can't experience that type of lifestyle.
Dude!!! You are by far the best fishing channel i have ever watched!! I enjoy the peace and tranquility of your journey! Catch and release being a HUGE factor! I wish more people would follow your example... Thanks for all the footage.
For me the only non release are invasives! Thats what we need to do for our waterways. And stop stocking rainbows, please. Watch Patagonia Artifishal you will see what i mean.
Thanks for telling me about the site!
Why would you not eat the fucking fish? Goddamn sporties.
Nothing wrong with eating the fish. As long as you stay within the limit.
Do a catch n cook! Like if you agree
A beautiful footage of a gorgeous lake. Also that bunch of beautiful crappies will surely taste like glory.
Watching this wonderful video is the best way to end my day before going to bed.
So relaxing and refreshing to see an honest obviously talented fisherman. Like being on the water with a really good guide. No booyah shouting bubba. Thanks for doing these videos. Bobby Martin
Ah just what I needed to calm my nerves on Sunday morning, thanks Matt.
This guy's channel exists to make me jealous of him
What a beautiful, quiet, and peaceful place! I enjoy watching your videos!
Any fishing trip with you is an awesome trip! Thanks for sharing, Matt
Happy to see you back out on the water. Thanks for sharing and I can almost taste those fresh fish sandwiches. Nice footage and miss those Minnesota lakes. Fish on!
Good video. I like the way you took the time to go over all your gear including the line. And it's nice to see someone actually keep some fish for the table once in a while.
You have such a calm and relaxing demeanor about you and it’s awesome. I love your videos and channel.
Absolutely love your videos, so mellow and laid back...as fishing should be.
Another wonderfully enjoyable video... watching this guy is an instant de-stress
Took my Ascend Fs10 kayak out this weekend and caught some spring crappie too. Definitely love the channel. Keep up the great work.
As always an amazing video, good to see your getting out agin and your weather is clearing up.
Your like the bob ross of fishing.... great videos!
I'm so happy with this video, finally u catch and keep something to eat, you always catch and release.
Another great video. Thanks, Matt. I always look forward to your videos.
Your channel is extremely educational. Been very fun to binge watch as well. Enjoy bass spawning season, and post pike spawning season.
One of the best fishing channels out there. Thanks for the fishing, From South Africa
Thanks for posting kayak fishing. I live on the Occoquan River, I have a kayak, but because of my health situation I rarely get out fishing ...fun to watch you.
My favorite fish. And you are still cranking out the quality videos. Thanks, brother.
I've been watching your video for a long time now. You have to be one of the most consistent fisherman on the planet. I guess persistence spawns consistency. Beautiful country for sure! Thank you for all you contributions.
Good stuff. Makes me want to cast for some crappie and bluegill! Thanks for sharing.
Im from WI those crappie are the first time I seen you take a catch home for dinner 😂 Midwest all day those fillet are going to be good
Thanks for the video man, I'm having to live vicariously through others now, fishing opens for us Tuesday finally.
it’s so calming watching these videos. love your videos
Nice to see a channel where the fish are actually harvested. Nice meals!
Man I want this show to be on pbs. He has the right voice tamber.
Thanks for this...Due to current conditions I will be unable to fish for spring crappie or the Walleye Opener so I am living vicariously through videos like yours.
Awesome video Brother!! Keep'em coming. Tight lines & good vibes!!
I had to laugh when you mentioned having a M/XF 5'9''' Legend Tournament Walleye rod. I thought to myself wait/what when did he get that... LOL. Last year this time you were fishing the trusty Legend Tournament Bass M/XF 5'9'' spinning rod w/ the Abu Garcia Revo MGX reel. Thanks for another great video Matt.
I'm fishing the Mississippi in the north metro. I finally found some crappie willing to bite! Found a big old downed tree in dead water adjacent to fast current. The bite was super finicky, though. Had to throw my jig/float literally in the same spot for them to bite. Half a foot to the left or right and they wouldn't touch it. I love your content. I'm a bank fisherman but you've inspired me to get into the kayak thing next year. I need a lot of elbow room when fishing and there's only so much solitude one can expect bank fishing;)
You have such a calming voice. Very cool. And you’re a very good fisherman. Keep it up.
It might sound strange, but I can almost smell the air, water and fish especially so in this video.
It looks a LOT like SE Michigan.
This guys enthusiasm and just overall vibe especially at 12:25 makes him the best fishing UA-cam channel
Absolutely love your crappie videos! Keep them coming. Why you don't have more subs by now is beyond me.
Your someone I’d enjoy to fish with your videos make you feel like your paddling next to ya! Keep up the good work!
Man, I am envious of all those fishing trips! 😊
Maybe a happy whitish grey cloud over the trees, with a little cabin with smoke coming from the fireplace, does that kinda remind you of Bob Ross.
So skilled, reallt enjoy watching you.
Greetings from Sweden
Another nice video, Thanks Matt!
Beautiful outings! As always great video!!!
best fishing channel on yt
When he said he was going to take some home for dinner I needed to know how he would cook them. A video of that would be great!
I don’t cook fish that often so usually when I do I just pan fry them with some shore lunch.
You are an absolute sniper with your casts. Never miss.
Bobby B this is not true
I really enjoyed the video! Sure makes me want to get a kayak and explore more!
Awesome! And crappies taste real good pan fried with a light dusting of flour or corn mean.
I love these videos, it relaxes me so much
As always a great vid... those crappie look delicious!
Yum Yum my favorite fish of them all so damn good havnt had crappie in years hard to find these days in Georgian bay
Those are the most beautiful crappies I have ever seen. Brings back days when I was a child and we went to lake Clark Hill/ Lake Thurmond now.
We hid from wind in bass boat b4 daylight. Tie off under bridge and catch a school of them coming through for 15 minutes or so only. We would catch tons. It was a group / family of 20 fishermen and few boats.
We had lines tied off on bushes for channel catfish also. Then we caught bass and bream. Soooo amazing.
You make me miss it.!
55 disabled, If I had your small boat and a good rod I would go back to lake.
Lived in big city 38yrs working hard. No gear now, very expensive also.
Thanks for the great videos.
Great to watch your video again, Matt. Enjoy your crappie sandwiches!
Great video, can’t wait for some more smallmouth content on the river! Keep up the good work!
Another quality fishing video. Nice work!
Been doing pretty good at some local private gravel pits here lately. Gotta have minnows. Great video bro keep em coming 👊👍
Awesome video..!! Great crappie action..!!
Really enjoy your videos NDYA!
I came across your video while looking for SNL to start my day with a laugh. This is an awesome find as I am here in MN and can not wait to do "any" kind of fishing! Stay safe!
Great as always Matt. And the rare sight of another angler in one of these. lol lol
Such a nice video. Love it!
Love how you go out with just 1 or 2 type of lure and catch a lot of fish.
Love the fishing vids dude!
That Nikko stonefly did a great job getting crappie on!
Man, how beautiful is that !
Beautiful crappies!
Just Yesterday it was crappie dinner..those are just a little smaller than mine but very nice eaters...love the channel
Your vids are so calming
Hitting a crappie bed is a great feeling. I’ve filled coolers on a summer day before moving around a 10-20ft radius.
Well done. Very enjoyable to watch. Thanks
Great job nice little crappie hole
Wow, bunch of huge ones!
One after the other you put out EXCELLENT CONTENT. 👍🏻🎣🇺🇸
I’ve been diving into all your videos. By far my favorite fishing UA-cam. Love to get the chance to fish with you one day
Super videos Thank you so much !! keep em comin'
Thanks for the crappie lesson. Now i know way more of the lore.
Hopefully i can do that tomorrow on my trip. Nice slabs!
