Just saying this, I'm 22 I've been listening to hairmetal/glam but went to heavy metal many years later. Tim Owens, Judas crimson glory etc. Out of all of them, Warren Dane truly has the best voice of them all, up there with Axl, Halford
He was the coolest dude too. I had the pleasure of meeting him twice. The second time I met him when we were coincidentally at the same burger joint in Seattle. He fucking sat down with me and my bassist and ate with us, coolest guy ever.

The solo is a bit of a rarity with Loomis 2:48. He is an outstanding shredder. In this solo though it is slow and melodic. Even uses some tasty blues licks to end it. It's a pretty chill solo compared to many of his and fits the song perfectly. I especially like his bar work in it.

This is an awesome song! its just about pure life... regret , wishful thinking, what one feels about their dreams when nothing happens after you take a chance.
I think this band shows the true escence of metal. The mix of progressive and old school Is great.
To put it lightly, what a truly remarkable singer Warrel is, was and always will be!
His vocals gives me goosebumps in this song, so hauntingly beautiful!

Jeff Loomis was in Sanctuary for about 4 months (between 1990-1991). Unfortunately, shortly after, the band broke up and him, Warrel, and Jim started Nevermore with Van. Both bands are amazing!!! Cheers!

Yes, I noticed that from the beginning. Tone, chops, timing. He's a beast. You had one of the most talented groups in the world, from day 1. (except they got even better, when Van replaced Mark).

@@Selkirk69 haha thanks, bro. I'm friends with Van on FB, and have known him since 1994, and also worked at Nintendo with him back then, in Redmond, WA. Saw them over 30 times in the early days 1992 to about 2002. :) He's amazing and talented in graphic arts too. That's the dept. at Nintendo of America that he worked in.
@@mgdarenz He and I are 1 month apart and I try to push him to go after pieces where he could get the spotlight. He is very humble and while I would love to see him do something like Fool In The Rain or even Peppered Cancer,( he and Jarzombek are friends), he loves to pull some whacky shyte out on his channel when the Thanksgiving turkey or New Year's spirits kick in. Didn't know he was at the Nintendo HQ in Redmond ( I live in Puyallup) but yes, he is very talented and I like his use of Reflection Shadow. Love his work on GSO's Delirium! cheers

OMG! What a pimp song. These guys seriously were crushing all alternative bands but maybe A.I.C. coming out of Seattle at the same time. Man I wish this was on the radio instead of Pearl Jam in the 90's.

for people that dont know that dane, loomis, sheppard have been the line from the very begining then arrington in 95' you look at alot of other bands and they have had to change alot of people out, fire ect these guys i gotta say in my opinion are the most pro of all bands they all have the same feel for it, and the chemistry to make some great fuckin shit!!! thats a true band man no one beats that.

I agree. I had tickets to see them w/ Symphony X. It sucked, because they announced their departure like a week before I went to see them. ARGH! But, like you said, I can't wait to hear the new Sanctuary. I hope it slays everything else in its category. Hails!

No, Dane doesn't really ever do screams or growls in a fully blown way, but sometimes he does these semi-shrieks and -growls. Check the verses of We Disintegrate and Born to see what I mean.
