Canibus has always been superior to most other Rappers & MC's because his rhymes were highly intelligent, mathematical, philosophical, historical & scientific. Half of his rhymes, the majority of us casual Rap fans could not even comprehend. Back then, when he was on the come up & a little more popular, you almost needed either a Master's Degree, a PHD, a Doctorate's degree or expertise in Alchemy or advanced Science. Some of his stuff you had to almost be a licensed Historian. He made it crystal clear that he had something to prove with every guest appearance on the radio or even behind the camera. He was anxious at all times to either spit a written or drop a Freestyle at every social event he went to. He wanted to prove to the World & to the entire galaxy that his rhymes were next level phenomenal. For a while, in the late 90's & up to the 2010's, he was pretty much a heavy weight everywhere he went. He was very well respected (with the exception of his beefs with LL & Eminem) up until the point of his Rap Battle against a man named "Dizaster". I'm not sure Dizaster even really respected Canibus all that much, based on his insults towards Cani. So that was 3 rappers who didn't really respect him but as a fan?? Most of us fans were mesmerized by Canibus wordplay & vocabulary. He was a Beast! So anyway, Dizaster went on to embarrass Canibus & in a sense, Canibus kinda embarrassed himself by pulling out a notebook full of his rhymes. Canibus was very well respected by fans up to this point. I think that this Battle took place back in 2012 (i think) so Cani's reputation was perfectly fine up to this point. But after this battle took place? His career was pretty much ended & some of his credibility was erased. But to be perfectly honest? Canibus was one of the absolute greatest MC's to touch a Mic 🎤 before about 2010-2012 era. He was virtually unstoppable for about 13-15 years approximately. But his battle versus Dizaster really ruined him & his career. I still listen to his Music occasionally just in "Awe" of his skill & talent. He had a great run but unfortunately it just didn't last for him. He'll always be a dope MC though but just not a great battle MC. He could Freestyle for days but he wasn't really a battle Rapper like Supernatural, Juice, Eminem & Craig G.
