Welcome to the Gauteng Department of Education's Language Reading Improvement Programme! These sessions are here to help you use LRIP resources effectively in your teaching.
In this video, we explore the content for Grade 4, Term 4, Week 1 & 2, focusing on short stories. We’ll guide you through teaching the elements of a short story, such as characters, plot, and setting. Learners will engage in retelling the story and will write their own, following the writing process. We’ll also cover phonics review, reading strategies like skimming and predicting, and the integration of language structures such as noun clauses and adverbs.
