I've done a similar repair 4 years ago and still holds. What I've done different,at the end of the crack I've punched a bullseye to prevent further expansion of the crack. Using UV light helped not to have any bubbles.
My brother in law was a windshield repair and replace guy. He used a diamond drill bit, made for drilling glass, to drill a hole at the end of each crack. That way it won't spread, since it rounds off the end. Then he fills the hole with resin to make it disappear. You only drill through the outside glass layer, not all the way through.
The quick repair is still holding up 2 weeks later. There are still some small air bubbles I couldn't get out. So far so good!

That's a good idea. I may try that still!

Where do you get a windshield replaced for $485?! That's a better deal than I've ever been quoted.
Depends on the vehicle. If it's basic glass it will cost less than a windshield with auto dimming or other components.
Safelite. But I have a Jeep patriot
Yeah I got a basic windshield.
does that stuff work on butts?
I believe so.
Not if you are a tight arse though.
Get better glass coverage. 👍🏻
I learned the hard way! 🤑
