I purchased simplicity 1586 and made a cotton sheath dress for my Mother and it turned out amazing. Made an 88 year old feel 25 lol. She looked so elegant - like Jackie Kennedy ☺️
OMG Peggy your love for sewing is contagious. I love the easy way you present each of your sewing tutorials. Definitely I'm going to make the sheath dress. GOOD JOB
Hey, that's what we call a straight dress, in my part of the world. It's really adaptable, comfortable & very fashionable! I love the one that you made. Adorable!
OMG!!! I love it! It looks so good on you and definitely so easy. Thanks Peggy, you are such an encouragement for those of us who have almost given up on properly fitted home sewn garments. Blessing to you for sharing.
Great job Peggy! You have inspired me so much, I actually cut a pattern from a rtw top that I liked the fit of and made myself a new top just a bit longer than the original! You have opened my eyes, even at my old age! Love you and thank you for all the knowledge you share!
Peggy, you're adorable! I love how excited you get over a new garment! I get that excited too! :) The dress is lovely, and it's on my (ever growing) list of things to fit and make. Happy sewing to you too!!
I just checked #4200 on your website. This is the jacket style that I think will work. What a fast response. I will check your videos for more hints to change dress or blouse to jacket. Thanks. I will make sleeve and armhole templates. But wait I want that sweater wrap pattern #. Seems I'm addicted and now need a Peggy video daily.
I love this idea. How did I never think to do the sheath dress in a knit? I'm still working off the pattern you fitted for me during a week-long class at Vogue in Evanston so many years ago. Now that old faithful pattern will have new life.
great video I like your patterns fit and ways to change style. Which pattern could be used for a chanel style jacket? Something that "looks like" but not have quilting lining.
Hi Peggy. what pattern is the shirt you are wearing? I also saw it in the background of another video, but I can't seem to find you mentioning it. Thanks!
You've reminded me that I get over obsessed with being larger in the hips than the chest, and often select too big a size in standard patterns. Way too big, and cut hugely down. Fool that I am.
I don't understand what the purpose of the shoulder zipper is? It doesn't open all the way does it? I think I saw you hand sewing it shut before you cut it.
I shortened the zipper and when you do that, the zipper stop gets cut off, so I sewed the end to stop if from unzipping completely.... the purpose of the zipper is to open up the neck edge to get it over your head. thanks for watching. Peggy
