Although it is one of the most famous and touristy villages in Thassos, Panagia is the kind of village where you have all the chances to enjoy a typical Greek atmosphere. The narrow streets, the taverns with traditional food and the picturesque atmosphere, make Panagia the ideal place for those who want to get rid of the hustle and bustle specific to large resorts.
Where is Panagia Thassos and how to get here?
Located about 10 kilometers from Limenas (or Thassos, the capital city of the island), in the northeast of the island. Panagia village is located 4 kilometers from Golden Beach and another 3 out of 4 from Potamia and is a mountain village that was the first capital of the island of Thassos after the Revolution of 1821. It was founded 300 years ago and is one of the points most famous attraction of the emerald island.
