I have the Norscot versions of these, but the older version of the machine. In some ways, at least functionality wise, the Norscot are better, but these seem to have more detail. I guess whatever you want more of, either one is going to be pretty good. At least the new packaging is a step up. Really impressive, actually.

the edges of the metal parts are too rounded - in reality they are way sharper. This makes the model seem more toy-like

Most any Diecast Masters model can be found on the 3000Toys on-line shop (many other brands as well). Other on-line retailers who specialize in diecast construction models are....DHS models; Buffalo Road Imports; Roy Ferguson Sales; and Nicks Construction diecast. A couple of European sites are Modell OVP (Germany + MSW ( also Germany). Ebay is another source for purchasing these types of models as well.
