I know you covered fortitude in the video, but I think this is mo’s best item at the moment. It makes him insanely powerful once he has it. He is free to fight, pull out and push a lane, and come back with full health. He also gets a speed boost which makes his map presence even greater, and because he never has to go back to heal he can essentially indefinitely gain farm wherever he is or what the state of the game is at. Splitpush / guerilla warfare style build.
Yeah I've really been liking it too. It also works so well late game because you have so much HP from Combo stacks, the percentage based regen becomes kinda OP. My only issue is I have trouble making room for it in the build with limited flex slots. It feels kinda like a 'win more' item sometimes

I think with conditional weapon damage it behaves differently than flat in terms of stacking but i forget so just curious If you knew What are your standard greens? Typically i was running veilwalker/enchanters/fortitude to capitalize on the gue(go)rilla warfare that the og commenter was referring to. I assume boots are still standard even after the nerf?
Surge + Burrow is crazy. Changes to Duration is wicked, cause I don't like using that slot tbh - Surge, CD, TP and Mystic Vuln, Fort, Boots, Healbane take a lot of slots which doesn't leave a lot for the 6ks to smash that late game
magic carpet over phantom strike is kinda wild. Phantom strike also acts as a knockdown of a sort by dropping the enemy to the ground. In the end you did utilize it perfectly though. Might have to give it a go myself:D There was one thing in this video that caught my attention the most though, or the lack of it really. You didn't spam the disarm on your escapes to the fullest which could have impacted A LOT. here are some of them: 9:33 (idk might have made a difference, prob not though since it's Shiv), 14:17, 14:34 (here before burrow) Personally I upgrade the sand ability last (apart from T1) but that doesnt stop me from spamming it and using it when escaping. Sorry if I came out as an asshole but I thought that they were small mistakes that could be easily avoided😅 I did like the video overall though. keep it up:D
Hey, you've got a point about disarm! This was definitely a 'tilt' game for me and was playin subpar in a lot of different ways. As for carpet vs PS.... PS is better competitively ,for sure. It comes out instantly and gives the enemy no chance to react in many situations. Magic carpet can't beat that, especially if the enemy is positioning defensively. I just like having fun flying around on carpet and it's oftentimes surprisingly viable :)
idk what rank you are but carpet is easily much much better than phantom strike in my experience. like not even close to comparison. first idc about the CC effects of phantom strike since 90% of the time i'm just ulting who i strike anyways. so it's wasted in the price. then, carpet's effective range with movement speed is much higher than the range of strike. then, strike's stats are terrible for the price. yes, spirit is better than bullet resist since mo gets bullet resist from ult and burrow but you should be building improved anyways so it's already diminished. carpet's stats aren't great either but they're better comparably. then, carpet gives unbelievable survivability, turns you into an annoying AF splitpush threat because you cannot be killed unless 100-0ed in CC with insane escape. then, carpet gives you much better ults because of duration AND range AND huge shields on activation. it's like a mini diviner's kevlar on top of the op mobility. not directing this at you specifically since u didnt really make the point that phantom strike is better but... the fact that magic carpet isn't the automatic centerpiece of every mo build shows that people in general don't put that much effort into making builds at any mmr bracket.
and on the point of phantom strike being less "reactable" idk i play in eternus NA and have never really had a problem with people "noticing" and "reacting" to a 26m/s carpet flying into them from whatever weird angle i want
NOT TO MENTION the pick capability literally runs the game over. i buy the item and tell my team "take any 1v1 you want i can carpet to you on the map in 5s and ult anything." phantom strike doesn't enable you to be a minimap ICBM like that. idk how many games i start 0/4/0 then end 3/4/22.

All your points are valid but you have to admit, there is just no counterplay to PS+Combo... it's instant. With Carpet, they can pop a knockdown on you when they see you which will force you to back off or get interupted mid flight/combo. They can E-shift or pop unstoppable. They CC you. They have at least a moment to react in many situations. Of course, you can play angles but it's still not 100% reliable. Of course carpet has other upside, which I love and it's the reason I run it. Much more solo carry potential. But for pure team play, PS just gives you unmatched reliability with guaranteeing combo. As an eternus player, I'm sure this is something you understand. Not sure if you're asking me, but I'm mid ascendant.
Love the video! I was making a mo and krill build a couple nights ago and trying to squeeze all of the spirit items that i want for him, super glad to hear I can cut improved cooldown for more spirit and vitality items. Deffinetly taking fortitude now! Please post more Mo n Krill content, ive learned a lot from it! Also no music is a good touch (no offense, it felt out of place)

My opener is totally different. Hollow point ward, extra spirit, and 4 greens, boots, stam, health, Enduring. The greens are far more efficient for trading blows and lower killing potential doesnt really matter early
I like that opener.... tbh I think almost all weapon items are viable on MNK. Hollow point in particular does seem more attractive lately because I think it's been nerfed a lot less than the others. The early vitality is definitely really nice too. I like going for health pretty often.

mo is so fun this patch, the instant scorn with fortitude now allows me to snowball hard as hell by pulling in and executing people with combo for the extra health, definitely a fun as hell snowballing item thanks to that scorn buff asw im running mystic reach along extra regen as first buys for extra sustain, he becomes a trading demon when you can hit both a minion wave and atleast an enemy with it, i also like that the duration items give diminishing returns ngl, it feels healthier for the game
@@Kris-st7cx the problem with that is you're usually full ammo when you engage with burrow so you don't get the reload value on engage, and your burrow is too long of a CD to use it a second time in a single fight. Of course, you can use burrow mid fight but you're typically using it to engage. Also you can start your reload while channeling your burrow so you don't need QSR for that. Also Scorn you can just proc more often, aligns better with the internal CD of QSR.
I must be one of the few people who have gotten increase matchmaking quality this patch (and I'm not even using extra competitive queue). For me it's the best I've ever had for teammates, usually my teams this patch are super friendly and communicative. Sure you get the odd toxic person but I found toxicity much worse when ranked was added

My match quality is so horrible. I used to be phantom but a loss streak sent me down to oracle and I feel like I'll never recover or get it back. Originally I thought ascendant was within my reach if I played well but now that's far far gone sadly. My main issue is how often I see people go like 0 kills, get outfarmed in lane then they just afk jungle barely push back waves other than when it suits them to be selfish as a way to get the big waves of souls... so many games I see people just participate in nothing and my team and me will be at like 30k souls and I'll have someone doing nothing at 50k+ souls in the jungle refusing to contribute and thinking the proper way to win is to take all the farm on the map. Usually it ends with them dying once or caught out alone then we just lose to a mid boss take. The game probably rewards these people too because often they have high stats by the end even if they did nothing for 90% of the game and were actively the reason why it was so hard to get our footing as a team. There just isn't enough farm for everyone to be farming I feel like you should be making room for your hyper carries and kinda trying to keep waves fixed and do your best in team fights. The amount of people actively just not participating in the game and somewhat being rewarded for it by the individual stats has become really demotivating to me. Like is the only way to rank up to just pick a certain kind of hero like infernus and afk farm for big numbers every game? I really wish it was about win/loss not padding stats. Economy metagame feels bad at least in my low rank and I often feel like I am punished for not being selfish enough.
I feel your pain... I've had some pretty bad loss streaks lately, I've had nothing close to these types of loss streaks when ranked was available. I think you're about the game rewarding certain players too. With the large skill disparity in many matches, it's not able strong team play and macro, it's about which team has the bigger carry. So it inherently rewards those who play carries like Haze/Infernus/Yamato and is very hard for those who play support or frontliners. That's just my take though... hope they bring ranked back soon:)
Its seems impossible to kill mo and krill with gun damage. No shieds or barriers but still mo and krill doesn't take much damage from bullets. Even when I have a 700 dps mcginnis.
yeah…mo and krill is a pretty hard counter to mcginnis. But if you’re able to get toxic bullets and debuff reducer or remover, you’ll start shredding him. just gotta space it well… definitely a hard matchup unless you itemize really well
He is absolutely insufferable after the update. In ascendant he is in every match and he is literally unkillable. Genuinely making me think of dropping the game. Because overbuffed characters keep coming and going. Its like they dont know how to balance.
I think he’s pretty damn strong but idk if i’d call him overbuffed compared to some of the other insane heroes in high ranks. I think he’s definitely insane in lower ranks though.. but once people know how to do some basic itemization, good aim, and general smarter macro…. his value goes down significantly. Still get your perspective though! Depending on who you main, he can be pretty damn annoying to deal with. A few reccs i give often: knockdown is a massive counter - knocks you out of burrow, carpet, stops magic carpet… toxic bullets/decay is amazing versus mo late… it cuts his heal and deals percentage based dmg which is huge against mo late game when he has so much HP
big time! to be fair, the infernus was also pretty toxic and repeatedly exclaimed he was a ‘too 500 infernus’ whenever anyone said anything to him… i cut out a lot of the toxic back and forth though it was a scrappy game lol

Totally agree on the solo q grind lately, way more likely to play for a long chunk of time when I’m playing with friends the past few weeks or so

you put qsr on scorn, cd i typically put on combo

Maybe my problem was using the competitive matchmaking option! From what I hear, it only results in worse matches

knockdown is a massive counter - knocks you out of burrow, carpet, stops magic carpet…
toxic bullets/decay is amazing versus mo late… it cuts his heal and deals percentage based dmg which is huge against mo late game when he has so much HP

big time! to be fair, the infernus was also pretty toxic and repeatedly exclaimed he was a ‘too 500 infernus’ whenever anyone said anything to him… i cut out a lot of the toxic back and forth though
