@@alanguages It's my understanding Suzuki and Funaki were Gotch disciples. They went on to form Pancrase. Robinson was a trainer at the Snake Pit, which is where Sakuraba was trained and debuted in UWFi.
Gothism 4Life Yes he is mostly from the Gotch lineage. I guess Billy Robinson trained him too, and it must have been briefly. He is listed on his wikipedia page under trainers.
@@alanguages Did not know that. One thing for sure, Robinson was a legend. My dad and watched an old match between Verne Gagne and Robinson at Comiskey Park. My dad noted that Verne seemed afraid of Robinson.
Karl Gotch is my fav old wrestler, but I like watching Billy's matches a lot.

Glad refs in CACC matches now are pushing the pace and not letting these guys just stall and defend. There’s a reason stalling is penalized in all folk/freestyle etc.
But man if Harry spends just a little more time with some American wrestlers learning how to pin he’d end these matches in 1min. Saw lots of opportunities he set up with his great wrestling but just a couple things missing on pinning attempts that were there for him to take advantage of.
But hell, he got the W 🤷🏻♂️

I see that Harry Smith, much like his late father Davey Boy Smith, has an amateur wrestling background.
Right? How Awesome is it he followed in his dads footsteps in not just being a pro wrestler for entertainment, but a legit amateur wrestler and submission grappler and shooter.

@@dannyhipolito817 Exactly, I'm pretty sure Catch wrestlers aren't taught to use guards because it counts as a pin.

I'll be honest and admit that I wasn't that impressed. Billy Robinson was the most Technical wrestler out there yet this match didn't show much technique. There were soo many times where moves could have been successfully pulled off, even hoped Harry would switch from the guillotine to the mighty Grovit!
