In my mind, as a 25-year-old, Freddie is the greatest singer that's ever lived. I'll hold that opinion until the day I'm proven wrong. His voice is majestic, and this song is proof of that.
You deserve a hug Luv
Much so.. he had a 4 octave range ❤
Freddie is the prince junior. I'm partial to Robert Plant the king.
The only one I can think of who is close is Brad Delp from Boston. Just listen to him climb the octave ladder on More than a feeling, as he's holding that high note on "away". He goes high, and just when you think he's running out of range, he hits another gear and goes even higher!
No issue there with Freddie. But vocals... broaden you scope. Discover the wonder. Just a suggestion. Karen Carpenter, Patsy Cline, Robert Plant, Elvis, Joanie Mitchell, and others.
You are SO SO right!!!
No one will ever come close to Queen, or FREDDIE MERCURY...
THE BEST FRONTMAN IN HISTORY!!!
Fire performance for the algo!
Your are right Freddy Mercury is the best singer.
I love seeing this generation understand how brilliant Queen was.It warms this old lady’s heart
Freddie left a mark on this world that no one has toppled and that no one ever will. Such a visionary. Glad I got to see him.
The older I get the more I think Freddie Mercury and Johnny Depp would have made a great musical comedy movie team.
Check out Queen's performance at Live Aid back in 1985. Freddie held the entirety of Wembly Stadium - and the rest of the world - in the palm of his hand. It was epic.
There will never be another, even close, to Freddie Mercury!!! What a voice!!! ❤
No one can top the original.. this song is just to perfect and iconic
Do you know that the a cappella intro is only Freddie singing lead and harmonies? Check out “Inside the Rhapsody”, a short documentary about the song and video on “Queen Official”.
Thanks.
No one can replace Freddy. I’ve seen Adam Lambert with Queen. He’s so great. He doesn’t try to replace FM, but pays homage, while singing in his own flair. There is a singer that was given the green light by Queen to be a tribute singer. His name is Marc Martel. He is fantastic. He’s the closest sound to FM. I’ve seen him live and it was phenomenal. Worth a listen. 🌸🌸💕
We never truly realised how lucky to grow up with this music.
Fun Fact: The guitarist for Queen, Sir Brian May (knighted by King Charles III in 2023), is a literal genius. We know him as said guitarist, but he holds a Doctorate degree in Astrophysics AND collaborated with NASA during the New Horizons program started in 2015.
And he campaigns for wildlife, especially hedgehogs and badgers. (Save the Badgers is a gloriously bonkers Flash parody.)
And Freddy Mercury was a graphic designer, John Deacon is an electrical engineer, and Roger Taylor is a dentist. All of them could have had careers in their original fields, but luckily for us they prioritised Queen.
@@sneakyfox4651 When they started out they decided to make sure they had careers to fall back on in case Queen was`t successful. The truth.
@@DaffyDill-zg8no Yes. And Brian May even did his Ph.D. thesis many years after Queen had become successful (2008). The topic is how dust in the Solar system produces Zodiacal light.
Freddie was a perfectionist. He would have the band practice a lot. Nobody could ever copy Queen. Freddie struggled with his identity. It caught up with him in the end. RIP Freddie.
A very surprising and emotional response to this song. Is the crowd singing it while waiting for Greenday to hit the stage. I think they have it on their channel?
That makes me tear up every time. When you have a stadium singing your song and you're not even on stage... you win
@@moharproductions From what I have read in comments, the GD sound crew does this at their concerts to get the crowd going and as a sound check. But yes, it is a wonderful thing to see thousands of people showing their love for Queen.
Queen at Live Aid. One of there best performances.
you should check out Green Day Crowd Singing Bohemian Rhapsody [Live in Hyde Park 2017]
This video shown on Top of the Pops on BBC1 on Nov 20th 1975 is what turned me into a lifelong Queen fan.
Nobody has topped this genius, and probably never will. However, Pentatonix have made a very good try. Sir Brian May liked it so much he shared it on his social media with the comment, "enjoy."
yeah, Pentatonix comes close, both are amazing i would love to see someone worthy to be in the top tree....
Four musical geniuses who played off of and with each other in perfect unison. Queen was Freddie and Freddie was Queen !!! The greatest rock and roll band then and still ❤️Thanks Cliff
Queen is the ultimate goal for any band trying to make it, especially in the UK
You're right. I saw Queen several times beginning in 1975 and they were absolute perfection.
I would love to see you react to Queen Live from Wembley Stadium, 1985 Live Aid concert. It is one of the most amazing Live shows ever.
Watching Queen live was enthralling. Four professional musicians who together created magic and Freddie Mercury’s charisma is unmatched to this day. All four were incredible music writers and all highly educated, talented and experimental. Queen will be studied and admired for years. Go down the rabbit hole and find the secret gems. So many masterpieces of every genre. ❤RIP Freddie-GOAT
Queen was a one of a kind, ever! The best
Never stop during a Brian May solo!!!
Never!!!
There will never be another Freddie Mercury, if you want to see something special, checkout "Queen - White Queen - Live at The Hammersmith Odeon 1975". Thanks for doing Queen and keeping Freddie's memory alive! I appreciate you Cliff!
Yes I second this
I third this ☮
@@elkevera I fourth it....
Ha ha, I fifth and sixth this.
It's hypnotizing! The way he bangs the piano keys like he's hammering nails into the keyboard.. and it's just perfect! You can't watch him play and actually look away.. it draws you in!
I'm 33. My dad played queen alot and other 80s music. I always loved bohemian rhapsody. I'm happy to see u enjoyed what music I did as a kid who was raised by 70s/80s kids/parents. The most incredible part is they made that song without a ton of the equipment voice stuff today. They recorded over n over again their own music to get the musical affects. They were ahead of their time in music. ❤
Love Queen!
Bohemian Rhapsody is not just a song it is an experience, for thoughs that know it stays with you for life.
Mastery! Complete mastery.. I miss Freddie so much 😢
Brian May the last surviving member of queen was/is an electrical engineer he and his father built the guitar he was playing in this video and has been playing ever since!
He has a PhD. in Astrophysics
John Deacon and Roger Taylor are still alive. 🙄
There will never be anyone like Freddie again. Just incredibly talented. RIP
Freddie ❤❤❤❤
they made it seem so effortless
It’s their song THAT’S ALL .
Thanks for your Queen reaction! and... more Queen please.....
Don't stop me now official video, Somebody to love Montreal 81, Under pressure live at Wembley, Fat bottom girls live in Milton Keynes 82, The 23 minutes of Live Aid.... just for start... lol... big hug to you 🎉
Cliff already did Somebody to Love in Montreal, go check it out!
I was in Oregon when I heard about the passing of Freddy Mercury. I am not afraid to admit that I and another MAN wept, not full on cry but a tear here and there. Freddy had such an impact on EVERYONE. Gay, straight, Bi...... He will be forever missed.
Fun fact Adam Lambert now sings with Queen he was hand picked by the band as has insane vocals and Freddy's flamboyant nature. Fire !!!!!!
I agree Adam is a great singer and very flamboyant but, marc Martel sounds so close to Freddie. He was hand picked by Roger and Brian to front queen extravaganza.
This video was made to show on the BBC programme "Top of the pops" because they were unable to appear due to commitments. Iconic and long before video was a thing.
Their performance at Live Aid was a classic. Did under oreasure with David Bowie too
Nobody beats Freddie Mercury but Pentatonix version is a close 2nd. Pentatonix is A Capella, so they do this entire song with no instruments. Check them out ❤
-the show must go on
- I want it all
-who wants to live forever
-another one bites the dust
- live aid
Who wants to live forever breaks my heart everytime....especially seeing the video with him all frail 🥺😓
Don't forget White Queen at Hammersmith Odeon 1975 and Innuendo!
Not to mention that the "It's A Kind Of Magic" album, almost in its entirety, was the soundtrack for the original Highlander film.
Also:
-fat bottom girls
-under pressure
-radio gaga
-crazy little thing called love
-don’t stop me now
Another awesome performance from Queen is the song “another one bites the dust” then of course there is “we are champions” I really love how the drums and guitar in the song another one bites the dust we’re made to sound like machine gun fire!
The first death of Freddie Mercury ... this is when the boy became Freddie and not who he was before.
Freddie's WORST performance is still better than 99% of everyone else's BEST performance. Can you imagine how many more Bohemian Rhapsodies, Innuendos, We Will Rock Yous, We Are the Champions, White Queens, Under Pressures we missed out on because AIDS killed Freddie at 45 years old? How many more masterpieces Queen and Freddie could have gifted this world with? However, I think if that were the case, I don't think we'd have gotten The Show Must Go On or even Innuendo. There are even some songs Freddie sang and never got to hear finished. MOTHERLOVE for example.. chilling and absolutely devastating to listen to. The second verse, he hits a note that chills me to the core and it was the last moment he ever recorded before he died. Brian May had to sing the final verse and I think when you know that, it's even more chilling because we're listening to the last recorded moments of an artist's portfolio and of his life. When I hear it, I can't help it I just immediately start to cry.
This video was the first promotional music video of its kind , before a video music platform even existed. Musically and visually this is a masterpiece but popping on a pair of headphones takes it to the next level. I fell in love with Queen the first time I heard Freddie sing back in 1973 I've been a fan ever since. 👑
❤ Queen forever
K I was shocked to see you were reacting to "Queen", now I understand. Great song, group, I have watched many reactions to Queen over the years especially the "Live Aid" songs on UA-cam. And the audience singing this song during a "Green Day concert", amazing! Thanks Cliff, love hearing it once again, never gets old!
To date the greatest rock- certainly greatest progressive rock song- ever recorded.
Nobody does it better than Freddie Mercury and Queen - but I have to say that Pentatonix covers it really, really well. You gotta hear that.
"QUEEN"🔥 Hi Cliff have you seen the movie 'The Highlander' there Queen plays some of their songs, I love it when the main actor says..."their can only be one" Queen is that...Freddy M RIL...🤙☝️😌
There will never be another Queen ❤
Freddie liked to try new music styles within their music..Talented band, versatile
its a classic for a reason.
PLEASE check out Ms Jenkins from Cashis he uses a great sample from this song one of the best uses of a Bohemian Rhapsody sample I've ever heard
Queen is the best of all time for me so many memories
You are right, nobody else tops this recording of this song. Iconic and something that has never even come close to being composed by anyone else, not even 50 years later. Thank you for your reaction. Another mind blowing performance by Queen would be White Queen live at Odeon, Hammersmith 12/24/1975. It gives me chills evey time I hear it. The entire band is perfect on that one.
We were so spoiled. We expected great music back then & were never disappointed. How lucky we were. Plus concert tickets were inexpensive. You just had to camp out waiting in line for tickets. It was awhole experience. Plus no cell phonesjust pure experience. Lucky us.😊✌️🌻🌻
This was a masterpiece!! Groundbreaking!!
R.I.P FREDDIE WE MISS YOU
From England I'm now 63 brought the record played it till it was scratched so much not playable anymore x QUEEN
Love of my life Somebody to love love Queen thanks
Cliff already did Somebody to Love in Montreal, go check it out!
All the backing vocals are sung by freddie
Just in the intro, I believe. You can hear the other voices in other sections.
Fun fact: this was basically the first music video ever, pretty much spawned mtv, and ultimately led to Queen’s song Radio Gaga.
It being the first ever music video is just plain wrong
Lmaoooo people really say anything these days
The Buggles, "Video killed the radio star", was actually the very first music video ever made outside of takes from concerts.
@@LorcrystNySell Nah Jailhouse Rock by Elvis Presley is much much older. It came out in the late 50s
@@LorcrystNySellthis song was the first song played on MTV but there r definitely older music videos that were release on older/other platforms.
Love this song
I love Freddie Mercury and Queen thanks
Even with the new lead singer of Queen, Adam Lambert, this original performance with the legendary Freddie Mercury will never be topped!!! GOATS!!!
You are absolutely correct. There is no topping the original.
The one and only Freddie Mercury. He was one of a kind. My favorite is the Live Aid at Wembley. What a crowd. For the record, no one will ever top Freddie!!!❤❤❤
Hello Cliff 😊 Great to see you covering Queen 👸
My aunt’s husband was a huge fan of Queen and had big collection of their albums. I used to listen to them every time I went to visit in my childhood. And he acquired that collection during Soviet times when Western music was not possible to purchase legally. Despite all that people knew those bands very well and listened either way. That’s how popular and big bands like Queen were.
58yo checking in, those video FX smearing the faces were brand new and cool AF when this dropped, btw they were still called promotional films at the time
I know the original Video big Queen fan here. Can’t believe You have seen the original Video I’m shocked. Queen are My Favourite Band of all time. When I’m down there’s one group I listen to and a solo artist they are Queen and Eminem. They help pick me back up again. Thank You for doing Queen Bohemian Rhapsody the original video. No one will ever beat this man’s voice and beat the rest of the band either. Anything to do with Queen or any of Freddie Mercurys solo songs. Thank You.
The Queen video for BoRap was the first video produced for a pop song in 1975. Your welcome Spotify.
Queen did a soundtrack for the movie Highlander. The two best songs were princes of the universe and Gimme the Prize. Well worth reacting to...
Yes, please never stop a Brian May guitar solo!!!!
Queen - These Are Days Of Our Lives from the Queen Album Innuendo you’ll like that one quite emotional but amazing 🥹☮️👌💚
Curious… Have you ever listened to the sonic beauty of “Silent Lucidity” by Queensryche?
I know you focus a lot on lyrics, but this is a song that has incredible sonic layering of vocals, music, and spoken word effects. The official video is the best version over any live videos out there.
I discovered you when Godzilla was released - you helped me get into Eminem, in the way you broke down the “too fast for my ears” lyrics and pointed out the artistry of how he crafts a track. Sincere thanks!
I think you are a really incredible content creator, as well as a really solid guy, I hope all is well with you.
Sending love from South Carolina. ❤️
The next "Rock God" you should investigate is Stevie Ray Vaughan Texas Flood live at Mcambo
The William Shatner cover is very entertaining.
No one could possibly top the original. ❤
My 2nd mom introduced me to Queen when I was young and they became a big part of the soundtrack of my youth. My fave song as an adult is Fat Bottomed Girls. 😂 But they are all fantastic.
To me, Freddie is on the Mt. Rushmore of vocalists, the very frist head on there is his. The other 3 can be left to others interpretation, for me the other 3 would be Ronnie James Dio, Glenn Frey, and Paul McCartney, but those are interchangeable, Freddie's will never be changed.
MAMA! ....OOUUU 😮
Yep, sometimes the original can't be beat...
Freddie apparently joined together 5 unfinished songs to create the rhapsody.
I love this video, no live performance that they even did could really compare, though Freddie did great on the ones I could see here on UA-cam here, they all did, just Freddie’s voice got rougher and deeper in live performances. He LIVED to perform, and it shows. He loved the fans, and it shows. He’s most comfortable onstage, and it shows. Music lived in his blood, in their blood, they really are great live, everyone recommends Live Aid in 1985, the whole 20 minute set all at once. There’s a flow, a sight to see for yourself, just something very special to behold. Anything from Montreal in 1981 is absolutely magnificent, and anything at Wembky, ever, especially in 1986. Rio was a huge crowd, something like 150,000 both nights, and Live Aid was 72,000. Sigh…ai can never get enough, and I love these reactions, reliving that feeling b eyeing others enjoying, sometimes for the first time--omg, no one can believe these guys are real. TY,
I’m usually here for your Em commentary, but Queen is my favorite band! The crossover I didn’t know I needed 🖤✨
I think most Brits know this off by heart. It is epic.
Recorded on a 25 track tape the whole of the first part was all just Freddie harmonizing.
Queen are brilliant that live aid performance will never be beaten .dont think ive seen The happy mondays on your channel wrote for luck by them would be a good start..great band from the early 90s 👍 👍
It took Queen a lot of effort to create and record that song. I was 8 when it was a hit, lol.
The harmonies at the start of the song were all done by Freddie.
Nothing like the original. No one will ever get close.Freddie a hard act to follow Queen best band ever.
I really appreciate that you said you already knew the song but were giving an honest reaction to it. So many reaction videos have people who pretend it is their first time watching or listening to then it becomes obvious that they are lying. Cheers!
ive heard this song hundreds of times and this is the first time ive seen the music video. i literally had no idea there was a video.... fml
It must have been life altering to see this band live.
I heard somewhere that this was his coming out song and now i cant think of it any other way when i hear the lyrics 🥺🥺 ....definitely a legend and it breaks my heart that hes no longer with us like so many others! 😞❤
Thanks for doing this Cliff, i found you because of your Ren reactions but before Ren became a part of my life it was Queen, ive been listening to them since 1974 (yes im old) and i remember when this song came on the radio, id never heard anything like it, i remember a group of us crowding round the tv to watch this video, it was a massive thing in 1975 and it paved the way for MTV, I still love it to this day and yes you are right no one can do it better than Queen, no digital downloads in them days it was all done on tape, they were ahead of their time thats for sure. I hope you do more Queen especially live they were the best
❤❤❤❤❤
For a real treat watch them perform this song at Wimbelton.
Cliff you are right about this song Bohemian Rhapsody .Freddy Mercury is the best no one can come to there song. It is best with the instruments playing. I love your reactions on this song thank you 😊
How have you not reacted to Marc Martel cover of this, you will be amazed if you react to it
Yeah brother its actually really simple & clear how to discribe it. Its perfect. Simply perfect and no. Nobody will ever EVER do it like they did it FOR FCKIN REAL ❤
