It was a Wonderful flight man! just awesome.
it would be even greater if you some information about how many G's you were pulling throughout different maneuvers.
This L-39 fella ... is a fantastic piece of machinery.

The accelerometer is the upper most left gauge. You can see it for much of the flight. Sometimes the shadows dim it out though.

What an awesome bird the L-39 is.. Excellent flying. Just curious, what was the warning light on the master cation panel? And the airspeed indicator was in knots right? If you have any more videos of the L-39 it would be absolutely amazing to see them. Cheers.

    Airspeed indicator in km/h.
Left pull-tab on back of stick is trimmer. Right button probably for arming.
Originally, altimeter and vertical speed indicator in meters, meters/second.
There are lot of techical information about this plane, but it all in Russian.

altitude seems to be in feet. in the first minute he was at an altitude of 4500 - looked more like feet instead of 15000 feet.

Velmi by ma zaujimalo, kde sa da ziskat licencia na L39. Je v Cechach niekde letecka skola kam sa da ist, zaplatit za skolenie a licencie aby som mohol lietat na L39? Dik!

This is the only video I've seen where an L39 makes maneuvers that resemble an actual fighter jet. This must be a very experienced pilot!

*...WAY too restricted in the US*
Say WHAT? There are well over 200 L-39s in private hands in the USA... dozens more in Canada, UK, AUS, etc. Probably real popular with Russians, Ukrainians, Czechs, and other East Bloc pilot-enthusiasts too.
SR-71, now *that* is a tough nut to acquire. ;')

Hell, Pride Aircraft even had SU-27's for sale. I'd like an F-5 but they're pricey.

Are these equipped with ejection seats?

    • @Jdr1053
      @Jdr1053 10 років тому +2

Yes, generally L39s are equiped with VS-1 BRI escape systems, but aero has manufactured and certified a new seat, capable of zero speed zero altitude escape: the VS-2 escape system.

I'll admit she's a good-looking, well-behaved, and relatively affordable little straight-wing trainer, but... WHY so many fatal accidents, most involving failure of the (side-hinged) canopy to stay CLOSED? In fact I note that Vodochody's latest incarnation, the L-159 Alca, has American style fore-and-aft hinging of the canopies... that's a hint and a half fo' yo' azz... ;')
