This was very touching. I am interviewing "orphans" in Haiti and working on starting a transition home in Haiti for those who have "aged out" to receive counseling and university / vocational school. These are great questions. Thank you for what you are doing!
As one of those kids that was adopted in 2012 it’s not that peaceful. Horrible environment to live in. Lots of kids are fine. But the ones that haven’t been adopted bullied the younger ones. It’s sad.

While I absolutely agree that the volounteers are needed, I think they should not focus so much on religion, but instead on helping the children grow into the people they want to be, gain more confidence in themselves, feel that someone human supports them. It shouldn't be used as an opportunity to coerce the children more into a religion- it's a very personal and subjective thing, that they should be allowed to explore on their own. So-called spiritual support should not be the focus, and from their comments, seems like it is.
One of our principle and value is to build with them a relationships. Not to show them best program or to give them rich gifts... no. To be a good friend for them. Yeah, in camps we everyday have Bible lessons, but it is like a discussions that are based on the Bible. Kids have a lot of questions... We aren't focus them on a religion, basically we try to show them the love of Christ to them thru us. They need to know that God loves them and waits for them. They know what religion is, but they don't understand what faith is. They don't know what is to have a relationships with God.

Being taught about the right beliefs of God is so very important. When both parents are any type of addict then God is not there. When we believe in God then we are adopted into a family that God provides us. I was raised by parents who were alcoholics, held me at arms length, ignored and without God would have had no one to confide in or teach me a better way. I don’t believe orphanages are set up to be a parent but to find you parents. Where are the fathers in most of these cases? They speak of a mother so why not the father? Stop putting obstacles in place for adopters and more needy children would find a forever home.

However, why do you think that your specific religion should be the way out, instead of therapy, and other people helping you? I'm not saying they can't be religious, but would you reject parents for a child if they were, say, Buddhist?
If you study the Bible it doesn’t matter what your beliefs are...it’s an excellent book to read for any religions and any person of faith...it enhances your outlook and perspective on your life journey in a positive way...so it’s good to teach the Bible especially for kids...there’s no harm in it...if they grow up to reject it that’s their choice, but I don’t think you should restrict people from learning the wonderful stories in the Bible to give children hope for a better future
