Doom is amazing... classic Gesaffelstein vibes, excelent and insane beat with old-school ebm touches to it. It's just that it's so short... damn.
Novo Sonic System is growing on me now. I can definitely hear the ebm/futurepop elements to this EP. Love them. Sorry for the double post lol, but thanks for the upload.

Hyperion was a pop record in my estimation... I prefer this stripped-back side of Gesaffelstein. I'm mostly just happy he still has these dark corners within him. What a fun listen.
He always said he likes to expand his music and his skills and to explore new areas so that's why some releases differ. But the core of Gesaffelstein has always been there (which to me it is the dark and eerie vibe from his music, wether it's faster, slower, harsher or more gentle; it's always dark). Here it is, for example. I love his old EPs and I think I like the Eps more than the albums, but as everything, it is a matter of tastes. I don't think Hyperion was pop by definition but I don't think there's nothing wrong with pop either, as long as it is good. But I get you- and I also love this release (I just wish it was longer, but hey, I didn't create it, so it is what it is).
No way! Hyperon is still better than most all of the pop garbage being produced. And still, sounds more synthwaves at times, mixing with 80's synths, dark at times. Comparing it maybe with Aleph well, yeah, that was even hip/hop at times but with that techno/dark synths and distortions was more eavy than Hyperion. I blame the record company.

I want to clarify that I haven't heard Hyperion in full... so my original comment was maybe a little unfounded. I'll always love Gesaffelstein and his music. I thought Reset was fantastic, and I admire him for extending his pool of collaborators.
I'm loving the progressive notes, the alternative approach to his art. It's releasing and thought provoking....

@@kilimanjaro3111 Same could be said about any techno release. But it's not. You have to listen to the subtle changes and the feeling the loop produces. Just like if you were listening to Daft Punk and you said "it's just effing samples", well, that's what french House is about. Some of us love the crafting of loops, and Gesaffelstein has been like this since the very begginings. But well, if you prefer something more accessible, he has collaborated with a few famous artists, there the songs have a clearer structure of verse-chorus-verse-bridge, etc. Anyways, I'm not saying you are not entitled to your opinion, I just think that after listening to the best of the best Techno out there one could say the very same: it's just effing loops. Like whoever that doesn't like nor grasp metal saying: it's just loud guitars and screams all over the place. I don't think so.
