Great to know you’re homeschooled. I homeschooled my son in the 80’s and early 90’s. He’s 49 and it was the best thing for his life. Glad you have parents who care so much for your full education. ❤️

Wow!!... you are the luckiest homeschooled 10 year old girl in the world. I am a 63 year old man and I was not homeschooled. I didn't discover Hopalong Cassidy till 2 years ago and I really don't know how that happened. What a treasure. I watch Hopalong Cassidy almost every day and I'm a better man for it. You keep watching learn from Hoppy .

I can’t begin to tell you how different the Hoppy of the movies is from the Hoppy of the Clarence Mulford books! The “book” Hoppy is rough and mean as hell! Still, I love Bill Boyd’s Hoppy. He was the one and only!

Takes massive amounts of leg and back strength to ride a horse...not just anyone can ride..,when a horse moves...it is scarier than any rollercoaster ridden...you have to stand in the stirrups to ride a horse...

William Boyd was married 5 times. His only son with his second wife Ruth Miller died of pneumonia at 9 months. During World war he enlisted , but was exempted due to a weak hart. Born in Hendrysburg, Ohio, and reared in Cambridge, Ohio and Tulsa, Oklahoma living in Tulsa from 1909-1913. Father was a day laborer, when his father day he moved...guess...to California. There before making movies worked as ...are you ready? as an orange picker, surveyor, tool dresser and auto salesman. His breakout role was as Jack Moreland in Cecil B. DeMille’s in “The Road to Yesterday” in 1925. His skin was like a baby with very high coloring, hair started getting grey very young at 19, a family trait, his eyes were described as “piercing china blue” . His horse Topper played in all 66 films of Hopalong Cassidy series....

Nora Lane who plays Grace Rand here, acted in about 80 films in her short career. She was a very popular B Movie star in the 1930s and early 1940s. Unfortunately, she shot herself in 1948 just a few weeks after her husband, Burdette Henney, passed away.

I had forgotten all about what an old man once said to me when I worked for the post office. He was such a nice one man but he had a son who treated him miserably. He took advantage of him ever chance he got and would steal everything he could get his hands on from him. Anyway, the old man hand thought that he had been billed for something and he told me that he had already paid it twice and he wanted to know if he had to pay it again. I don’t remember for sure but I think 🤔 that it was just asking for a donation and of course, ever time that got a donation they would send asking for another one. I explained to him that he didn’t owe them money and that he didn’t need to pay it. He just thanked me and over and over and just as he was about walk out the door 🚪 he turned to me and said, “If you ever need anyone killed just let me know”!!!😅😅😅And on second thought I’m not so sure that he wasn’t serious. They were a pretty rough bunch. 😱😱😱😳😳😳😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😲😲😲Our post master had a young daughter whose husband beat up on her and my boss said that he had considered having him killed because he had an uncle in Oklahoma who could put him in touch with someone who would do it. However, I think that he just talked her into getting a divorce and he paid for it.

      I wrote down the lyrics in Spanish and been trying to find who sings it, but have not have any luck. It’s a beautiful song. Try to research the lyrics in Spanish to find the tittle and name of singer but no avail. I recorded the song on my phone with one of those voice recorders app as the movie was playing. I think the singer is an English speaker singing in Spanish by the way he pronounces his r’s. This is what I transcribed ;
Abre tu balcon princesa de mi amor.
(Open the doors of your balcony my loving princess.)
Que es tu trovador que canta su canción.
(It’s your trovadour singing for you)
Implorando estoy de hinojos a tus pies, que calmes este cruel dolor que me hace fallecer.
On my knees imploring at your feet, that calm this pain making me faint.
Mi bien tuyo soy no dudes llamar mi pecho sera tu solo ideal.
My love I am yours dont doubt in calling me, my chest-love will be yours
Mi bien tuyo soy, no dudes ya mas, y nadie podrá despojarte jamás.
My love I am yours, don’t doubt it, nobody never will separate you from me.
Abre tu balcón princesa de mi amor
Es tu trovador que canta su canción.
Implorando estoy de hinojos a tus pies, que calmes este cruel dolor que me hace fallecer.

It just is ridiculous and laughable that he could walk in a door 🚪 an affable and pleasant man and walk out the same door 🚪 as a mean, unpleasant completely opposite of what he was when he went in. He can’t even look 👀 mean. His facial expression doesn’t seem to be able to carry that off.
