Interesting, but I am not so sure about some of the overheating wire diagnoses. 75 deg F on the insulation of a wire in a 62 deg F ambient temperature is not overheating - it would be a reasonable temperature rise in a heavily-loaded situation.
@1Rectified: Overheating can be caused either by loose terminal connections or a heavy current draw on the circuit. This is why we install circuit breakers & fuses.
+Kruger Sightings The photos from the slide show are an older camera I don't have any more as I upgraded to another Flir camera. But the original one I had was a Flir, just don't remember which model.
MikhailBakunin I'm sorry, but what the UTTER fuck?! I had _NO_ clue Caterpillar ever had such a thing until I looked it up! What were they thinking? X'D They're an engine/genset/construction equipment company, not a phone manufacturer. Perhaps they did it _because_ the thermal camera could be useful for people in those industries?
Not to bash you - or the people that gave you thumbs up... but erm... well.. if you look at it with semi open eyes, you will notice that it's not the same house.. and if you notice the uploaders name is an inspection company.. well.. then you can put 2 and 2 together to safely say that its pictures from their inspections made duting work hours.
+thelasthallow True, it is not overheating, but there have been others that have that I just don't have photos of. This was early on in my infrared inspection career.
Indeed ... though I would be suspicious of that electrical connection in the future, although perhaps maybe someone wired a lot of heavy loads on the one feeder, thus causing a current imbalance.
Hellow! I have the following questions: 1.For medical purpose -can this camera be used to study the sleep of people? To see and track sleep cycles. 2. What diseases can this camera detect , with and related auxiliaries (computer, medical software, etc.) -as there are used in medical offices(cabinets) to put diagnoses using thermal images? 3. For surveillance and spying(espionage) -can this camera see what happens (what's going on) through these materials (so what happens behind the materials, while the camera is placed in front of the materials: a.curtain through which a person can not be seen with the naked eye b.plastic bag c.aluminum foil d.double glazing e.simple window(normal glass) f.pvc door g.wooden door h.Steel (metal)Doors i.5 mm thick metal wall j.Hebel wall 10 cm k.brick wall l.concrete wall 5 cm, m.concrete wall 10 cm n.concrete wall 20 cm Please answer to all the questions and select the correct answers for question 3,between variants from a to n. Any additional information is welcomed. Please post links where I can see how thermographic camera sees(show to us), for each subject separately (a lung disease, for instance,or how thermographic camera sees through the metal door, double glazing, etc) Thank you Best regards
Cleon Cybrian To all of your questions, ask yourself: is there some aspect of your inquiry regarding changes in temperature? If so, yes. 3B is a yes. 3N - probably not.
To Kirby's comment. I think the infrared camera your talking about is the view seen from police helicopters and such which is a grayscale image. I believe what we see here is really the same thing but colors are assigned to the temperatures. Further I believe most FLIR and other brand cameras allow you to change the view from a menu.
Dennis Harper Yep. The FLIR can see more than one spectrum of infrared and so temperature can be inferred. The ones use by military are just gray-scales.
jasonofcompsci Whether it's grayscale or colored is all in the software, the camera works in the same way detecting the same wavelengths of infrared. Then you can choose how it is shown to you via software. Some cameras even offer a b/w image and you can tell it to color any temperature about a set threshold with bright red so it's really obvious.
I would bet only half of those were actually real problems. Those wires for example weren't even that hot. Thermal images can be very misleading and it's easy to jump to conclusions.

What kind f this sensor? Available for installing on the UAV?

What camera is this?

I latterly have to go back and pause the video to see what the damn text says.
Multiple tub leaks and main electrical panels of different brands. It’s not the same house, people.
Wish not only the Camera but the money and skill to do the repairs
so now you have overheated electrical wires, what's the solution?
You need to move house lol.
This is so Cool.
Oh shitt, Don't bring that to my house when you come to buy.
which camera you been using?
Sorry to see all the problems, but very cool technique to find problems and thanks for sharing!
I spent over $8,800 for my FLIR E60 with accessories and rarely use it.
+pmgodfrey Wow that is a lot but I bet it has a lot of bells and whistle. The IR camera has been an incredibly useful tool as a home inspector for me.
+pmgodfrey CAT is releasing a new phone, the S60, that has a built in thermal camera for like $500.

you have to sell this house
WTF, is there anything ok in that house ????

81F for a wire is not overheating.... you guys are just over reacting.

How much is one of those cameras?
500-50K

+Cleon Cybrian I would think it would only be useful to capture temperature changes of their skin as someone sleeps.
answer to ALL of the above: NO IT CANT
Shouldn't be allowed to sell it
Thats not really a infrared camra its a heat signature camra but good video

+Epicgaming99 Xbox It is in fact an IR camera

Holy hell, what kind of house do you live in!?

I was waiting for aliens ovnis and everything else. xD
How price of the device please
+شركة سواعد للخدمات المنزلية They have a wide range of prices. From under $1000 to much higher.
es ist schon eine feine sache so eine thermografie kamera, man kann sehr viel damit entdecken!

loose connection.
mal camera washes out everything at certain angles and areas in my yard
Thermal cameras dissolve all of your safe-house delusions, but I could see the benefit!
you better sale your house
Umm... i guess FLIR
i need me one

aquatrax123 All leaks are problems. That's enough for me.
+aquatrax123 I agree that the wires were not that hot, but these are all merely examples of how the infrared works and the issues it can find.
you said OVERHEATING, that was a lie.
But now you have to move lol
