And his MV mini-movies - Be With Me, Golden, Across Endless Dimensions. Dimash is not a just singer, he is a performance artist of the highest caliber. For simply Dimash try If I Never Breathe Again - a valentine to his Dears.
So you know, during the beginning when he sang that phrase/sentence at 01:44 and 02:02, the range was 2 octaves and 4 notes! Also when he uses his "Rock Belt" at 03:37 it is an F#5 and a few moments later at 04:03 he hits the same F#5 but this time in an Opera voice and it sounded so different. Just mind blowing!
This was after the Chinese I Am Singer 2017, at this one in Russia, he was a guest artist. Thanks for the reaction, more Dimash is a good thing!

By understated, if you mean a lighter feel, Be With Me the music video, definitely Dimash but with a pop vibe, not so serious and such fun. I read other comments, but all of these performances are powerhouse performances, absolutely incredible performances. This is Dimash masterpiece!! An existentialist song about the up’s and downs in life … and when you feel you don’t belong here. Only Dimash with his beautiful and powerful voice can make you feel deep emotions ❤️🎤 He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition. He is about to start his doctorate in Musicology.He has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but respectfully turned it down to pursue his own more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments such as piano, drums, chello, guitar, dombra and also sings in 12 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano, plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. He is widely recognized as the best vocalist in the world. He speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is studying English and Mandarin and has conversational skills in both but not quite fluent yet. He is kind, humble, generous and modest, very elegant and very tall, Dimash is 6ft 3, 1/4.

Dimash enrolled in music college at 5 yrs old. His vocal cords have received intense training for 20 yrs. He holds master's degrees in many different types of music. He is considered to be the best vocalist in the world and a master performer. He sings in 12 languages and plays many instruments. He is an exceptional singer and excels in martial arts. His mother is a world-class opera singer, and his father is also a well-known singer. He was raised by his grandparents, which is customary in his home country of Kazakhstan. He appears in front of crowds of hundreds of thousands of people and is known to give the proceeds to charity. He is a very humble and shy man. He stands at 6 ft. 3 1/2" tall and weighs 200 pounds. He was 24 yrs old at the time of this performance. His first album went platinum in 47 seconds.

He performs here at the 2018 International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”, generally known simply as “Slavic Bazaar.” It is an annual festival held in Vitebsk, Belarus, sponsored by the Belarusian Government since 1992. Its main program promotes Slavic music and the majority of participants are artists from the former Soviet Union and other Eastern Bloc countries.
The song “SOS (d'un Terrien en détresse)” is originally from a French-Canadian musical called ‘Starmania’ from the 1970s and is considered one of the most difficult French songs to perform.

Welcome to the world of "Enless Dimensions" of Dimash. This interpretation is just the tip of the iceberg. This beautiful song: "SOS d'un terrien en détresse" was written almost 20 years before Dimash Qudaibergen was born, but he definitely made it his forever, when Luc Plamondon and Michel Berger composed that, they had no idea, they did not imagine who was meant to be its ultimate owner. I also enjoy Dimash's other versions of this song that are always in a unique and masterfully sung. For those who have just started this long journey to the magical world that opens with the celestial sound that comes from Dimash's throat, it will be a before and after in their lives, but it will be for the better. Trust me I'm not exaggerating
Thanks for continuing with Dimash. For something quite different, I would recommend a Kazakh song, Samaltau, from the 2020 Tokyo Jazz Festival. Because of COVID, his performance was livestreamed from his home studio in Kazakhstan. He doesn't go to any extremes in range and there's no large production. It's just him sitting cross-legged in a room with two musicians, but it's powerful and beautiful.

We love seeing new Dimash fans. I agree with you, the English subtitles for SOS New Wave show seem to lose something in translation. The subtitles for the SOS 2021 performance (from the 2021 Digital Show) are much more accurate, in my opinion. Even though it's the same song, the performance and visuals are quite different as well-I recommend you check it out!

The English translation is fairly accurate throughout the song, actually. In the French original song, the last line says "dodo, l'enfant do" which is the first line of a short and well known French lullaby and it literally translates as "sleep child, sleep". To have used instead a similar line from an English lullaby for the translation was quite appropriate.

This song is a pearl of the French songbook is a Canadian-French cyberpunk-rock opera written in 1976 by Michel Berger (French) and with lyrics by Luc Plamondon (Canada) and was immortalized in the voices of Daniel Balavoine and Diane Dufresne. The theme of the song is depression and the desire for suicide and, in the 2021 version, Dimash faithfully and brilliantly presents a sentimental and melancholic interpretation! As the singing decisions follow the original structure of the song to show the psychological instability of the distressed character: From the chest voice to the head voice and then the falsetto, the author aimed to show a broad need to overcome a long of despair and need to reach a very high perspective! Sinful Passion is not that stripped down, but it´s a beautiful Russian song, and Dimash does and incredible voice gymnastics towards the end.
Dimash just posted the first time he sang this sos on his Instagram channel there are several versions of sos the latest one being from the dimash digital concert on his UA-cam channel which was incredible and a studio version from the jazz festival where dimash sang this song and samaltau I think the studio version is even better thanks for your reaction to dimash

Great reaction! He sang this song several times, my new favourite is from his digital show Jan 2021 on his yt channel it also has some amazing visual effects. The whole show was superb and later that month we were able to attend a zoom meeting with him on 31 Jan which was very surreal, having Dimash in your sitting room. Ever since hearing Dimash I struggled to enjoy other new artists until I heard you guys. I'm looking forward to hearing more.
I would suggest going back to Dimash's performances in the Chinese competition 2017 and watch his journey. He starts with SOS then the 2nd week performs Opera 2 and has a lot of fun with the audience. Every week is a master class in performance and he sings many songs you'll recogonise but of course he takes to new heights.
Then allow yourself the ecstasy of his Slavic Bazaar performance of Sinful Passion witnessed by the Russian composer Igor Krutoy. Igor seated in the front row of the audience is so impressed he decides to come out of retirement to write and accompany him. It is perhaps the most impressive performance ever of any vocalist.
Where ever you decide to pick up Dimash well reveals his unrivaled capacity to manipulate his voice to go where no other man has gone.

You will find in Slavic countries and in Russia, the audiences are much more subdued. It’s always been that way, no matter who’s performing. They view their silence as respect to the artist. Different cultures, different mentalities 😊 EDITED TO ADD: It’s a decent translation. Many give that last line as ‘sleep, child, sleep’. If you want more stripped back Samal Tau from the Tokyo Jazz fest 2020 is wonderful. This year the Japanese song Ikanaide is beautiful it gets big at the end. Thousands of miles a common dream on the show classic wings is another. Samal Tau is in his studio in Kazakhstan with 2 Kazakh musicians. Ikanaide is to a backing track in his Chinese studio I believe. Lovely reaction.
