Thanks for the Black IPA recipe, partial to Schwarzbier however may give this a shot as a winter ale up here in the Great White North where it's currently in the minus double digits.
Hello folks! What do you think about mashing black malts at 140F at the start of the mash in a grain bag, the retire it and proceed with the mash of the rest of the malt?
Hey! Need your advice, sorry for being off topic, I've tried finding video/podcadt where you talk about hard seltserz and yeast you used, can't find it. Winter has come, -30°C, and brewing beer is out of question for now, decided to make hard seltzer - what yeast would you recommend, I'm planning to use dextrose.
We've loved using French Saison yeast - but the most important thing is using the right nutrient - Omega has a nutrient called Proper Seltzer which is perfect (they also recommend using their Lutra yeast - which works well) or you can use a combination of Fermaid O and DAP
Love you guys. Tim's a bit out there. Could be a bit longer so I can enjoy more. PS. C120 you guys should be shoot. There's a vid on you tube about this you should look it up.
Never had a black IPA that I didn't dump down the sink. It's a conflict of flavours. However, I am always looking for something to change my mind. And making one as a New England style might be the way. Thanks!
Its Jynx from pokemon and Mr Popo from dragon ball z, both examples of Japanese animation's tendency to not view black stereotypes as offensive due to their almost entirely homogenous society.
Hop schedules with Tim is my new favorite sketch
i know it is quite randomly asking but do anyone know of a good site to watch newly released tv shows online?
@Wesley Omar i watch on FlixZone. You can find it on google =)
Thank you guys. I was concerning about using the dark malts, but your explanation give me the right way! Cheers from Brazil🍻
Cheers!
Awesome video! I really appreciate the quick blurb on cold steeping! You maybe have just given me the courage to try it out myself 🍻
I brewed a black IPA a couple of weeks ago and then did a kettle sour. Fermented with Kviek. Turned out super interesting. Black Forest cake flavor.
Dang. Sounds delicious.
“ Hops with Timothyyyyyyyyy” lol time To make some black ipa !!!

There are "better" malts than crystal malts, proceeds to brew full proof black ipa with crystal malt. Hehe. Its all good.
It hurt me - but in this style it's just the cleanest way to get that balance :'(
@@GenusBrewing honestly saw it in your face while doing the video. And you are right many better alternatives to crystal malts!
Love the meme. Still use TWO crystal malts in my amber.
Black IPAs are so underrated. Thank you for this Genus! Also more Tim plzzzz!
i'm going to have to give the tea addition a try, thanks!
You guys produce fine homemade, American style, distillers wash.
Awesome Tim!
I love BIPAs! Also loved the MGS reference! Keep on being awesome and making delicious brews!
So random..... but funny
Tazo passion is primarily hibiscus. Great flavor (put it in my freshly kegged hibiscus mead), but not what I'd call Christmasy...
Hi, great video. Please can you tell me how much water you start with, then pre-boil, and how much you end up with in the fermenter in litres?
How did the tea bags come through?

If doing this with a BIAB setup how and when would you add the dark malts?
Still Cold Steep but then Strain into the boil kettle Like you do with the rest of the mashed grains!

I just watched your mash tun vid. Might need to make some room in my stocking. Nice to see you here too Braj!
TIMOTHY!! YA BIG JOKESTER!!!!
If hot cubing could you just dry hop the non bittering hop additions?
