    I first used a whip back in 1976, it was a 6m Shakespeare fibreglass job with a spliced top section. Poles were in their infancy, I don't think anything longer than 10m was available to the average angler and were very heavy, very expensive and were rarely used in Britain at the time, well not in my neck of the woods. The whip was a new but perfect team method (as it turned out) for the venue I fished and I had a lot of success with it for while till others cottoned on to what I was doing!
    I've not fished for almost 20 years now but I'm going on Wednesday hoping to catch a good bag of silvers. Having just watched your video I've now added my Daiwa Harrier whip to my holdall and I can't wait to use it again. Thanks for the inspiration, I can hardly wait!

      @@BobbleTv A quick update. Got to the fishery last Wednesday and decided to give it an hour on the waggler just to see what the stamp of fish was like before setting up the whip. First fish a 4ozs roach, great I thought, next cast a 7lbs carp! The whip stayed in my holdall! I ended up with nearly 20lbs of silvers, mainly decent skimmers. No more carp though. Not bad for my 1st session in almost 20 years, I really enjoyed it despite making a few schoolboy errors!

    Another excellent video, you have got the presentation just right, constant explanation, without ever repeating yourself.The channel is quickly becoming my favourite on You Tube..

    In response to your comment Ross, the whips that I use are Team Daiwa speed whips in the shorter lengths and the 5m one being a Sensas Alborella

      Cannot see a Sensas Alborella Record 450 anywhere, the only whips I have seen have solid tips.

      Also do you use loop to loop for your hooklengths?

    • @haydenrushworth4263
      @haydenrushworth4263 8 років тому

      Ex Pop Owner Not sure whether or not sensas have brought out a new range as I must have had mine for quite a few years. They do only come with a solid flick tip but I use a no.1 section off an old pole telescoped into the 3rd joint to create a hollow tip for elastication. And yes, always us loop to loop

    Excellent videos. What make of line would you use for fishing high up in the water and would it be different from fishing the waggler at 5 meters. Would you use a line like Drennan Float Fish for high up and a sinking mono for a deeper rig? Thanks.

    • @haydenrushworth4263
      @haydenrushworth4263 7 років тому

      Dave Horban Cheers for the comment mate, for me it's always Daiwa TDR for all running line work regardless of distance or depth

      What would you use on the whip regarding my comment above. Would you use a sinking line for the waggler fishing at full depth but a floating line whilst fishing up in the water. Thanks.

    • @haydenrushworth4263
      @haydenrushworth4263 7 років тому

      Dave Horban To be honest I just use Guru N gauge, I'm not too concerned how the line behaves as I'm expecting bites fairly quickly on the whip, Guru N gauge works well in all whip fishing applications in my opinion so it's just something I'm confident in using from both a durability and presentation aspect

    Hi you said on your 5m pole you had elastic what length line would you have as whip fishing is to hand. Also for small fish would you bump them off with elastic cheers

    • @BobbleTv
      @BobbleTv  5 років тому

      It's the same as normal whip fishing the elestics just in case you hook a bigger fish bit of a buffer

      Thanks so do you think 8s elastic is best cheers

      Thanks for taking the time to comment, we have plenty more whip fishing video ideas to do so we will see what can be done. A two hour video may be a bit of a tall order but a shorter, real time video might be something we look into doing

    You say Sunrise Lakes is a commercial fishery but your box seems to be in the water, are there no platforms? I ask this because fishing a 2 metre whip from a platform may not be the same as fishing from your position.

    • @haydenrushworth4263
      @haydenrushworth4263 8 років тому

      Ex Pop Owner There are platforms on some pegs on the Match lake where this was filmed but not in the the area of the lake where we were fishing. Due to the water level being down slightly I decided to set up in the water to get the keepnet into deeper water and to give me a bit more range with the short whips to make life easier. If fishing from some platforms you will be out into the lake and deeper water in most cases so short whips would still work perfectly well. Cheers for watching and the comment also
